I really like the approachability of your videos. No pretentiousness, no advertisements, no fancy unachievable studio setup. Just you grooving away, letting the music speak for itself.
I love the fact that everytime you switch your right hand to the ride, you also insert new bassdrum patterns. It makes the solo breathe. To me, i'm listening to a song made of intro, verses, choruses and outro.
Growing up in the 70's when funk was just groove and not a lot of fills. This is what drumming(imo) is all about. Solid, funky and consistent. You can take the journey with the drummer and not get lost. This type of playing is so simple but so deep at the same time because it can reach all audiences which is the best drumming! Who cares if you can do all the fills but no one can follow you or take the journey with you? Fantastic!!!!

I thought i was weird. I always play the drums with closed eyes. I barely open them. It makes me fall into the groove and just honestly somehow improves my drumming. Good one mate!
I do the same. I think it's like closing processes running that you don't need. That energy can go to other areas of the brain instead of the visual parts. Why we turn down the radio when looking for a street sign. :)
