Hey Alex, thanks for the great videos. I was wondering if you could do a video comparing life/teaching in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City?? I'm going to be doing a TEFL course in Cambodia in October and would then like to start working in Vietnam in November. Your videos have well and truly sold the country to me. However, I'm not sure which city would be better and I haven't found any clear cut video/website outlining the differences between the two cities in terms of teaching English.
Cheers and keep the great videos coming!

I just got back from Columbia. I want to spend some time out there. I'm thinking about teaching private english lessons. I'm a mexican american. I'm going to pay a bunch of people to hold some signs for me and pass out some flyers for me. I can pay them $8 a day. I will be placing g them outside the metro station where a ton of people get out of. I dont have any teaching experience but I do own my business in the states. One thing i have always done is just wing it and learn on the way down. Increase your confidence level and buy a english teaching video program. Then copy that. Eff it, I'm going all in!

Im about to graduate with my BA in education, and I have a general AA as well. Im certified in Reading, Elementary and SLA. Would an online TEFL course be something that was okay if I have the 120 hour course since Im already certified to be a teacher?

Hi! I am Kathleen, a 24 y/o Filipina. I was raised speaking English and was educated entirely in English. I have a TEFL certificate and have a university degree (BS Medical Technology). I have also taken the TOEFL and got a 112/120 in my first and only attempt. But I don't have any teaching experience. What are my chances to get an English teaching job in Saigon? I will be flying there on the 3rd of November. I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I know that I am qualified but I am worried that I might have a hard time getting a job because of my nationality. Hoping for your response. Thanks!

Kathleen Oanes yes I think you will have a hard time it will be a challenge but don't give up just go for it you only live once always remember that..👍
I believe it would be easier for you to look for a teaching job in your native country the phillipines.
I will try to look for english teaching job when I go to Vietnam don't worry but I must get some ninja teaching course in class experience first.
I think my Vietnamese/english skills combo will be an valuable asset for these Vietnamese English schools in hcmcity.

I have a bachelors degree as well as a Master's degree in business, but I am more interested in teaching business English. Right now in Atlanta and options are extremely expensive. My plan was to do an online tefl and attempt to get some practicum via volunteering at a local ESL school. Do you think this is a feasible plan/option? Thanks in advance for your advice!

Hi Mariel, 60 hours in person is definitely better than nothing, and it'll definitely go a long way towards landing a job.

Hi Steven. I'm moving to Vietnam in January to find a job teaching English. I have a Bachelor's degree and an online TEFL certification, but no teaching experience. My biggest worry is that I'll fly out there and be unable to find a job. I was thinking about doing some volenteer teaching here in the USA before my flight - do you think that will be enough experience to land me a job?

Become a Substitute Teacher... you have to licensed to do that.
Teach at different schools. I did that for 4 years. It is amazing how different schools are in the same area. How different class are too.
Become a Substitute Teacher... believe me... it will (quickly) teach you about teaching kids... and working with other teachers.
      Love it.

Outgoing is kind of a vague term.. If you're referring to introversion, I believe introverts can make some of the best teachers.

Yes, of course Thanks for replying to my comment by the way. What I meant by that is whether someone who is super knowledgable but suffers from social anxiety disorder and/or depression and is afraid for maintaining eye contact.

No, don't go. You will be going to a predominately monolithic country where the people here are VERY outgoing. If you suffer anxiety and depression than please don't come.
