    One thing I find from someone who hasn't ventured out into the 'travelling world', is how genuinely friendly all the people are when talking about their experiences. I honestly can't wait to travel and hopefully meet some really awesome people like you guys! Thanks again. :)

    You can always look on usajobs.gov for contracts and be in a different country for a year or more. Generally, they're military affiliated; therefore, you still get holidays and the opportunity to travel. I'm currently in Germany because my husband is stationed here and around 10% of the staff in the clinics in the area are on contracts. It's a great opportunity! Thank you for the informative video 😊

    I would almost recommend sticking to what you do back home while on working holidays. When I came to NZ I was cool with whatever kind of bar or office job I could get but when they saw that all my experience in the last 5 years has been in digital media production, they passed. I ended up with a career related job as an email marketing specialist for 3 months. What kind of job you get is dependent on your prior experience no matter what country you're in.

    Good video. Three things I learned about teaching ESOL overseas: Avoid on-line TESOL courses like the plague. Many countries won't give you a visa if you have one, and many companies won't even consider you for employment if your degree was obtained on-line. Ditto for TESOL certs that are under 120 hours. (I’d go for 140 just to be safe.) Lastly, get a copy of Mark's English Grammar Shortcuts and MEMORIZE it. Saves a BOAT LOAD of headaches.

    Workaway.. Basically working for families or individuals who allow you to live and eat with them in return for 5 hours a day work. Could be basic tasks such as cooking, cleaning, maintenance etc. Most countries are available for Workaway, and as you don't get paid with money there are no Tax implications, you only need to work for them in return for your board. You will of course need money to use for personal things such as entertainment, sightseeing and so on, but look it up, it's a cool way to travel around.

From your experience, how realistic would it be for me to find that type of work abroad do you think? Thanks +hey Nadine

    I encourage the thought of traveling and residing in different countries, but some of the things you guys mentioned are a little strange... for example, picking grapes in France?... Any tourist or non-inmigrant looking for work, needs a C permit which isn't so simply acquired, and some students that acquire B permits are only allowed 20 weekly hours of work, so it isn't as easy as mentioned on this video to find employment in France at least... I don't know about the rest of the countries mentioned, but I'm currently in France, and I'm speaking from personal experience..... I'm an American and I've been here for 1+ year, and there are many laws, that prohibit travelers and non-inmigrants to find employment. I love your videos Hey Nadine, just wanted to add this piece of information, so that someone may be well informed before deciding to branch out into the world...

    • @heynadine
      @heynadine  9 років тому +5

      Hi Decal. Thank you for your comments. Yes you are correct, there are sometime limitation on the types of work you can do and the amount of hours etc. however, since this video is already 10 minutes long, I really couldn't go on about the very fine details of every country and ever visa. There is just too much to cover. So I tried to stay more broad and encourage each person to do their own research. This is just a starting guide to get people more so thinking about the possibilities.

    The U.S. does not have this working holiday visa thing. So if you're American you're just going to have to get a normal working visa if you want to live abroad :/

      Same here mate, that's kinda fucked up for people like us. But keep fighting, there's always a way to make your dream of travel and work abroad an effective possibility !

      Americans can do a working holiday in Australia, NZ, and Canada. I have done one in Australia and am planning one in Canada.

      +tange2000 Yes, it's also possible to do them there. I think there are just stricter requirements.

    Why is it only 18-30 year olds? Why can't a 35 year old do a working holiday?

    I have to write, the holiday Visa for Canada if you're from the UK is VERY difficult to get. I tried to get a working holiday visa earlier in the year and didn't succeed. They only allow 2500 visas per year from the UK, and the places can fill in seconds. Very disappointing as other commonwealth countries have unlimited places.

    I come here to make things cheap. I don't have family support. I don't have anyone to support me if things go wrong. I'd like to travel, then to work to keep me going. Cheaply.
