Avoid on-line courses like the plague. Many countries won't give you a visa if you have one, and many companies won't consider you. Ditto for TESOL certs that are under 120 hours. Also check out Mark's English Grammar Shortcuts. It really works well.
GREAT VIDEO!! Actually I'm thinking of taking celta, as I'm interested in teaching English(I am teaching japanese in France, but i did my masters in English). A question, do you think non native English speakers can get this certificate??
Hi Sofie, I would like to know what is the difference between Celta and the other certificates (TEFL and TESL), other than the Celta giving a richer insight on teaching experience. In particular, is there difference in COSTS (are they similar or not?- if you know of course), in RECOGNITION/ JOB OFFERS and on the type of AUDIENCE (being the Celta acronym including the word "to adults"- I'd love teaching to kids or teenagers). Thank you very much in advance for your reply.
Hi Karen! No age requirements nor restrictions, you do have to "apply" for the course by doing a phone interview and little English 'test'. Maybe I'll do a video on my entire experience :) Thanks for watching! XO
Sofie's World Hello, Sofie! I'm so so glad I found you. You are absolutely wonderful. I'd really appreciate it If you did a video on your experience with CELTA! I'm considering it myself, however, not decided on it yet. Cheers!
Hai mam am from India.. and now I am studying in plus one Humanities and I want to become an English teacher in abroad So.. can you ples.. tell me as step by step After plus two what I want to take ......
If you already have a work visa, then yes- you are legal to work! In Italy, for example, it's very difficult to get a work visa- but if you already have one then that's easy!
Yes I did, Kiki! It totally depends on the school you apply for and some certificates like CELTA TEFL may not require it as long as you have equivalent teaching experience. Thanks dear :) XO (Also stay tuned, I'm going to be posting a video on my experience with the CELTA in Rome very soon!)
I've noticed that you dress according to your state of mind; now you dress "academic", since you' speaking about teaching. Last time you went to the dentist and you were wearing skulls! ^__^

Have you graduated yet? What are your plans for now?
is the celta certificate enough to teach in a country or you also need to be an English native speaker?
It depends on the company/school. But in many places being a native is just an extra as long as you have good skills and fluency.
This video comes at the perfect time. Will they hire you if you get a work visa? 😊
If you already have a work visa, then yes- you are legal to work! In Italy, for example, it's very difficult to get a work visa- but if you already have one then that's easy!
I have a question, do you need to speak fluent italian in order to teach english?
No, most language schools forbid you to speak their native language.
Did you go to University? I heard that some countried require a University degree in order to teach! Please let me know! Btw, amazing video girl!!
