It’s all about the sound you’re going for.
How do they get that finish? is it brown paint that's been partially rubbed off? I think it is. Anyway. These sound a lot brighter than I thought they would. Some of the Meinls are a bit too dark and earthy, but these sound excellent to me. they have a lot more character than my old Paiste RUDEs, but then I bet they're not half as loud!
Theres no paint on those my friend. Its basically almost raw metal with no lathing. You can really see all the hammering.

that's how bronze looks... Not all shiny like other cymbals are made to look.

Any genre if you want. You can use the ride with some byzance brilliant crashes for gospel, r&b, fussion, etc. that set up would be no different from a k dark ride and couple of a custom crashes.
