    I exclusively pumped with my first baby. I tried nursing but it hurt so bad that I couldn’t. I want to try nursing with my second. He is due in 4 months so I’m trying to learn as much as possible beforehand. Thanks for these videos!!

    Thank you! My baby is nearing 5 months and is EBF, but since about a week, I’m having a lot of nipple pain on one side. Similar to the pain I had when I first started. I’ll try these exercises!

    thank you a thousand! My newborn is now 20 days now and gets very gassy so i am trying to get a good latch to help reduce the gas gulping. I know that mostly youtube just cover everything in general but you pointed out a lot of stuff i see that my newborn is doing like her jaws get tired after a short deep latch.
    again thank you so so much!

    İ can't latch my baby properly after a month. İ started giving her bottle because i still have terribly sore nipples and they don't get any better because of poor latches. She was delivered by vacuum extractor i don't know if it has to do with my poor latches. I will definitely try these exercises. Thank you.

      She's been assessed by pediatricians and obstetricians and she has no problem but still I couldn't figure out how to put areola when she opens her mouth. She sucks on my nipple. It has been 40 days and I feel like a failure 😔

      @@wronganswersonly643I was in a similar situation with my first one and changed to exclusive pumping because I didn’t want my baby’s weight to reduce. But mom, You are doing great! A mom who is worried about her child is never a failure. As long as your baby is getting fed, don’t worry. It will become easy. Try getting help from a lactation consultant. I am getting help for my 2nd one now because I want to do breastfeeding only.

      @@wronganswersonly643 it’s impossible to say without assessing myself but all I would say is that most paediatricians and obstetricians have little to no training in breastfeeding, let alone the specialist training it takes to assess tongue function so I’d definitely be reaching out to an IBCLC with training in tongue assessment. May also be worth reviewing with a paediatric osteopath to deal with muscular tension ifpresent.

    Any tips for getting a good deep latch in side laying position?

    • @alissabrownibclc
      @alissabrownibclc  9 місяців тому +5

      Key here is having your baby positioned down far enough. Many mums put bub right in front of your breast but just like with any position you want to slide them down away from the breast by a few centimetres so baby has to tip head back and look up at the breast to latch.
      With side lying you always want to try to make a triangle shape a so have baby’s legs/bottom close to your body and then their torso out a any angle. So you’ve got head, breast and your/their body are the three points of the triangle.

    My baby was born my vacuum. I have been trying to breastfeed but she cries doesn't. If she does latch its for a moment. Never thought she could be tired.

      Try this technique - ua-cam.com/video/d7_6oyABoq8/v-deo.htmlsi=cmGvg42vqBLflJ6v
      If she’s still struggling then you might like to see a craniosacral osteopath for review (as well as using these exercises) :)

    Hy
    I m very much worried my baby is crying while doing breast feed its been almost 10 days now...
    I am sure he is crying while feeding with stomach pain stomach made noises while he is crying.
    I didn't understand whqt is wrong with him or with me or with breast milk...i extract some milk and give him in bottle he didn't cry...
    He alwayw Hungary... sometimes i gave him formula but he doesn't wait for 2 hours for next feed he seems hungry in 15 minutes.my flow is good i dnt know what to do...i consult with dctr but nothing is working he is crying like hell😢😢😢

    • @alissabrownibclc
      @alissabrownibclc  9 місяців тому

      Definitely look up an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant near you (IBCLC). Many paediatricians/doctors have limited breastfeeding training but it would be worth having your baby assessed to see how efficiently they’re feeding, if they’re genuinely hungry and if there are any other issues like reflux or allergies going on. Rest assured there’s nothing wrong with your breast milk :)

    • @quintanaallen1551
      @quintanaallen1551 6 місяців тому

      You may have a strong let down which means she’s receiving more milk than she can handle. I recommend expressing some in a bottle first and then putting her to breast.

    • @alissabrownibclc

      I can’t speak definitively on here but it may just be your baby struggling with the flow of milk. Reclined feeding can help :)
