My baby is 5weeks old now . But he started cooing at 3weeks old. I keep singing and talking to him. He love story telling you really know he’s interacting/communicating very well. And our everyday activities are, I let him watch black & white or show high contrast books for his Visual Development so at the age of 4weeks his eye movements is really great. 😊
❤My 5 week old gets upset doing tummy time on his play gym and the airplane hold is way more fun for him. I fly him around the house showing him plants and the mirror and he lifts his head very interested. It’s a good alternative technique.
Thank you for your videos. 11:00 I too used and still place a wash cloth on both sons tummies. We currently have a 4 y.o. & 2 month old. I think the washcloth on the belly also gives additional warmth and soothing. I also place one on his head and a third one draped over his hands since they seem to get cold being that they are not submerged in the warm bath water. I frequently pour warm water over the wash cloths to refresh them. I find it can be more gentle and can channel the water away from the face and keep him calm.
Hi @Sarah Roberts so glad you have found this channel helpful. Hopefully the next 2 weeks goes quickly and for the safe arrival of your little one. Very exciting times!

Nice, positive, realistic channel with Lots of facts presented on clear and fun way. Also the editing of the Video is perfect with Lots of diverse parents and babies which I find so refreshing.. My son is 7 weeks old and you encouriged me to sing a litlle more which I also thought is not so nice to hear but He loves it.. For my son the best toy for now are my hands .. We bought contrast book, play matt and other toys but He smiles the most to my Hands.. Thank you for this Videos, looking forward to see them All!

She’s 6 weeks old, we started that novel I’ve been meaning to read all year and nearly finished. I usually just read it aloud when we sit down to nurse. I thought, why read a children’s book? Right now I’m the only one that that’s even looking at the pages. Haven’t made such quick progress in a book in years!
I cottoned on to this idea too... Quite the surprise to suddenly find time for reading as a newborns parent... But it works!!! Hi Emma. Thank you for all the useful tips. I'm still expecting so forgive my confusion on the topic. Could you clarify this point for me please?
I'm so glad I found your channel!! My bubba is 11 weeks old but 2 weeks adjusted age as 9 weeks prem and have recently started doing tummy time, I do it with him for only a couple minutes but had no idea it was okay to do it multiple times a day! So I'm looking forward now to doing it more often as I love it and he loves it too, I've watched so many of your videos and they are so helpful! Thank you thank you !!

Sorry, but is it only me who cannot find a gap to play with my 1 month old? When she wakes up, she gives me 1-2 seconds to start feeding and she would’ t let me go until she is done, and when she is done, she falls asleep (crazy crying in between the processes). I am surprised babies can actually sit quietly.. mine is moving so crazy
Mine acted like that,, and was eventually determined to be magnesium deficient. With guidance I added magnesium, and she got a lot more chill. My sympathies, it's so hard...
@ I hear you.. mine is 1,5 now and it didn’t get much better before she turned like 11 months. After 1 yo everything is developing even faster and they become more independent and interested in the world around. Good luck! It will get better eventually, even though I was not believing it myself :)
A lot of helpful information on practical, fun activities to do with your bub. I really enjoyed chatting & singing to my babies. I agree a play mat is a must at this age👍🏻
I made tummy time with my baby lying on me and I was reading her out of my book (nkt very child friendly with pictures and subjects in a fantasy world, but still I was talking 😊) Sometimes she would lift the head, but not always. It is our ritual after she woke up and we are done feeding. Depending on her interest and energy, she lifts her head and reacts or she put herself back to sleep 😁
I'm glad I found this I've been doing tummy time since she was 1 week by lying he on my chest and at 3weeks did the lap and football tummy time... I had no idea I was doing tummy time.. Now at a month and she turns her head while sleeping on her own
Thank you so much for these videos. I'm a new mom and have a newborn who is almost 3 weeks old and have no idea what to do with her most of the time. She just started getting fussy at night, crying a lot and wanting to be fed constantly. Hopefully some of these activities will help. Thank you!

Just a random thing id like to share about my newborn(2 months), i watched the part in your video about holding a toy in front of the babies face and getting them to move their head, i turn on the youtube video of the Gummy Bear Song on my phone and place that in front of her face and move it around and she follows it with her head and absolutely loves it, she'll intently watch it and smile and giggle a bit
Not trying to be mean and I hope you take my comment the right way, I beg and urge you not to put a screen in your kids face anytime soon. Look up studies on what happens during screen time.
Hi Emma, I love your channel so very helpful. I am wondering 2 things. My boy is 3 months premature, his due date is coming up 8/8. I am wondering for night time feeds and change, should I be turning the light on to a normal level and then play with him if he is giving me cues or keep it dark and encourage him to sleep? He feeds every 2 hours at night but sleeps lots during the day and only feeds about 4_5 times in the day time. The other question is, am I at this age supposed to be waiting for him to open his eyes before I pick him up when he is stirring? When he stirs his eyes will be closed, lots of grunting and turning head, if I wait for his eyes to open he usually cries before the feed, compared to picking him up when he stirs waiting for him to wake up gently then feeding him.He is much more chilled this way but I am concerned that I will be teaching him bad habits. Thank you in advance
❤️❤️❤️ love the videos Emma, what a Godsend. I’ve heard horror stories of babies gripping things e.g piercings and causing pain but if only they knew you just bend baby’s wrist and the hand opens! …And you embedded this nifty tip in a development video. Curious to see what other hidden gems are in the other videos :)
Hey I saw that you also have a dog at home, i too have a 2 and a half yr old male labrador and he is a little excited one. Can you pls suggest on how and when to start the interaction of the dog with the baby.
Hello, thanks for the video! I have a son who was born 5 weeks early, in June. So, by birth age, he is 3 months old today, but his adjusted age is 8 weeks old. Do the milestones apply differently to preemies? I'm assuming I should consider him developmentally a 2 month old when assessing milestones. Is that correct, or do ingo by his actual age of 3 months? Thanks in advance! ❤😊
My boy is 11 days old, I worry that he thinks that the world is an out of tune musical because I sing nearly everything to him. His names Rowan and he loves a chorus I've made of Hey there Rowan, tell me what you're knowing, Hey there my little rocking Ro, Hey there Rowan, We know the waters flowing, So why don't you go and Row n row. It comes with hand gestures too 😅 He hates being changed but other videos of yours have helped improve that time, plenty of eye contact, I signal with my hands what I'm up to and keep talking to him, mentioning and touching his hands, cheeks, feet etc and play some bee gees, he seems to love them 🤷♂️
My baby doesn't reeeeally have that "happy to engage in activities" time... Only a few moments. She's 11 weeks old (was born 6 weeks earlier though). She smiles a lot when she's awake and enjoys me talking to her (thank goodness for that because I talk and sing all the time 😂) and doing faces... but she doesn't really like to look at a mirror or images or stay at the baby gym or anything else really. She just wants to eat, then cries or whines until she's up on my shoulder, while I walk up and down until she falls asleep. I don't think I should worry too much about it, but I'm definitely a bit jealous of those babies who enjoy and engage in all these 😅
Hi Emma, I am a multilinguistic and my husband too. I am worried which language do I speak with my new born as mostly in household with elder two kids we speak English and mother tounge. But my older boys seem to forgot mother tounge and they just speak English with each. I don't want this for my 3rd child. I want her to speak 3 languages, but it seems a big ask, don't know how to do it..
there were days where my 2 month year old baby was awake for hours and wouldn't sleep from the 4th week to the 7th week time. Now that she is in her 8th week she's sleeping more.
My children are thirty-four and thirty-one but I put warm washcloths on their chests when bathing. I don't like to be cold and you know they don't either.
15-16 hours? Mine doesn't? My son was born 20/06/24, will only sleep for 5 minute Intervals 🤷♀️ eventually goes/ stays asleep around 7pm... what am I doing wrong
same! my baby should be here in 15weeks & i’m terrified of holding her. whenever someone wanted me to hold or carry a baby i declined, especially when they aren’t able to hold their head up yet. 😨
Thank you for all the tips. I love how you call our babies "bub". Is that a common short term for babies in Australia? I find the word extremely cute. 🥰 Interesting side note: In Germany we call the "football hold" the "airplane hold". 😀
Hi @Amelie Bub must be just an Australian term for babies. 😂 Never really thought about it before as it is so common here. Also thanks for sharing that the football hold is known as the airplane hold in Germany. I found it so interesting when I hear what other countries are doing/recommending and calling things!
My mum is English and she'd call her babies some form of bub. Bub, bubby, bubbadee, bubba. 😂 Not sure where it comes from but I know in certain other cultures it's common as well.
@@headerahelixthat’s interesting. I call my first son bub or bubba. My grandmother was english and Swedish so perhaps I got it from her. Never thought on this before reading these comments.
So, I was in the hospital about a week after my baby was born, and so my parents and her dad were the ones mainly surrounding her. Will that confuse her or affect the notice of my voice? I don't know honestly.
You and your baby will bond normally anyways. Babies know who Mama is, relax and enjoy your baby. Hope you are doing well. She won’t be confused, babies need love no matter who gives it but your scent and speech will be special to her as she grows. Dads too. A week or two away when she was first born is really ok.
God bless Dr.Igudia on UA-cam, all my life will keep thanking you for the great help and for your product which actually works in eradicating herpes virus out of my body system
Do you have any trouble shooting content?? Like what to do when you messed it all up, how to repair attachment or regain trust? I'm a struggling mama of 3, and my 8 month old isn't thriving as much as my other two because I'm just so overwhelmed with demands and needs. He loves me still and is fairly attached , but is more trusting/makes eye contact with my husband because he gets specialized with our baby time while me not as much.

Not trying to be mean and I hope you take my comment the right way, I beg and urge you not to put a screen in your kids face anytime soon. Look up studies on what happens during screen time.
@nunya7682 it's not like I did it all the time, just every once in a while, but I do understand and appreciate your concern
Hi Emma,
I love your channel so very helpful.
Thanks so much! I hope you find the other videos just as helpful!
Thanks for your videos, they are really helpful. God bless you Emma
Glad you like them!
Hey I saw that you also have a dog at home, i too have a 2 and a half yr old male labrador and he is a little excited one. Can you pls suggest on how and when to start the interaction of the dog with the baby.
Thanks you for all of the inspiration! I’m on maternaty leave with my son who is 6 weeks❤️
Great info! Thank you!
My pleasure!
Thank you Emma your vidioes are helpful, lm learning a lot with my little boy.
It’s my absolute pleasure!
Thanks Emma for your tips
My boy is 11 days old, I worry that he thinks that the world is an out of tune musical because I sing nearly everything to him.
His names Rowan and he loves a chorus I've made of
Hey there Rowan, tell me what you're knowing,
Hey there my little rocking Ro,
Hey there Rowan,
We know the waters flowing,
So why don't you go and Row n row.
It comes with hand gestures too 😅
He hates being changed but other videos of yours have helped improve that time, plenty of eye contact, I signal with my hands what I'm up to and keep talking to him, mentioning and touching his hands, cheeks, feet etc and play some bee gees, he seems to love them 🤷♂️
My friend just had a and my mom and I got presents for the baby.🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thank you so much I love that rainmaker ooo I need a rattle!
Any time!
Hello thanks for this tips watching here again 🇯🇵
Does anyone have thoughts or suggestions about toy washing? I have this instinct to wash EVERYTHING!
Thanks a lot. This was very helpful.
No worries at all!
there were days where my 2 month year old baby was awake for hours and wouldn't sleep from the 4th week to the 7th week time. Now that she is in her 8th week she's sleeping more.
Hi my baby is 9 to10 month old and she's not able to claw nor stand please what should I do to help her
Thanks for the tips!
No problem!
My children are thirty-four and thirty-one but I put warm washcloths on their chests when bathing.
I don't like to be cold and you know they don't either.
Great, love from Portugal
Helped a lot with our little one. Explained well.
Glad you found the information helpful. Thanks for watching
15-16 hours? Mine doesn't? My son was born 20/06/24, will only sleep for 5 minute Intervals 🤷♀️ eventually goes/ stays asleep around 7pm... what am I doing wrong
Very helpful
What do you think of cradle boards. ?
Hi Emma, your videos are very helpful.thanks for sharing it😊
I'm sure it's going to be fine once I get used to holding my baby (currently 17 weeks away!)
But right now the idea of holding him feels so scary! 😐
I think feeling nervous is totally normal! You’ll be great once he arrives though. Tired, but great 🙂
@@EmmaHubbard haha thank you and yes the most common advice we've had from everyone so far is sleep while you can 🤣
same! my baby should be here in 15weeks & i’m terrified of holding her. whenever someone wanted me to hold or carry a baby i declined, especially when they aren’t able to hold their head up yet. 😨
Thanks For Help Teps

Welcome!
My baby is 78 days old his weight is 5.2 kgs he just drink milk 3 ounces not much in 3 hours I don't know what to do is it enough for him ....
👍👍👍
Can you put baby for tummy time even before the umbilical cord is healed?
No
If your baby is holding the head up you can use the football hold she talks about without putting pressure on the umbilical cord.
Thank you for including men in the pictures
Of course!
Thank you for these much needed info! ❤
You are so welcome!
Thankyou Mam 🙏🙏❤️🇮🇳
Thank you for all the tips. I love how you call our babies "bub". Is that a common short term for babies in Australia? I find the word extremely cute. 🥰
Interesting side note: In Germany we call the "football hold" the "airplane hold".
Great vids.
Thanks!
My baby boy is 2 months 2 days he sleeps alot day time butbnigytbyime always wakes up after 4 hours
At what time can we start tummy time for baby
She said as soon as you and the baby come home from the hospital
