The fact that they didn't bring Neil Crone back to voice Diesel 10 in his later appearances was a crime

Yea I know
No, the crime was that they didn’t have Keith Scott voice him

I love how planks of wood on wheels are more dangerous than a Man who has access to dynamite of a giant engine with a hydraulic claw.
The trunks have done way more damage
troublesome trucks basically cause tens of thousands of dollars worth of damages to goods, equipment, and service delays on a near DAILY basis. either sodor railway is secretly sitting on more cash than the hsbc bank or insurance premiums are dirt cheap.
*cough* millions *cough*
Troublesome trucks have caused millions in damage 🤣
Only a few hundred thousand more then the engines make in mistakes
@@donovanulrich348 i say tens of thousands because everything that seemingly gets destroyed is always low priority cheap freight. the 7 plank wagon is only weighted for 12 tons, that isnt a lot. and the engines typically only pull 5-10 trucks at a time.
@@MasterOfTruck true 🤣✌️
But I'm thinking about refit and redesign of engines when they get tossed from the tracks
Fixing a engine sounds easy and cheap. . . Till you do it
Diesel 10 terrified me as a kid; pretty much a child version of Freddy Krueger.
There's just something about he's hydraulic that feels kinda unsettling when I was young
i still remember being terrified when i saw it in theaters lol
When I was in elementary school, I would go to this after-school latchkey program... anyway, in this play area, there was a counter with a bunch of VHS tapes, and one of them was a TTTE movie (Thomas & The Magic Railroad) with Diesel 10 on the front cover. It freaked me out as a kid, so whenever I'd enter that room, I'd turn my back to the wall. Now that I'm much older, Diesel 10 is kinda laughable because I imagined him to be much worse than he already is.
What the fuck me too. This was scary
THANK YOU
Diesel 10 is my most favorite villain in all the Thomas franchise.
As an American, I was personally shocked by the appearance of Vinnie, and I think it served him right being stuck after trying to harm poor Philip, who is technically American as well.
Makes you wonder why Philip, and Rosie, for that matter, don’t have American accents.
I never believed he was an American because engines like him are only in Canada
We Americans gotta stick together against the limies
@@Dr.Disney Not necessarily. The Grand Trunk Railway had streamlined Northerns that looked exactly in shape like Vinnie, and they ran around in Illinois and Michigan, I so I've been told.
@@lordseelenfresserdemonking1168 Yeah.
Diesel 10 and Diesel aren’t just iconic villains, they’re ironically some of the most beloved characters in the franchise. How could anyone not like them? They’re just so fun and the shake up to the status quo they always bring is very welcome.
Totally.
0:25 - The crybaby!
I wonder if Diesel and Diesel 10 like each other or if they just put up with each other🤔
In DOTD Diesel 10 took on the personality traits of Diesel in order to get Percy on their side. Did he pick it up naturally or did Diesel give him lessons in manipulation?
This characterisation makes me understand why Paul's Vids fused them together.
@@gothnerd887 I’d say it’s very much a “we have no choice but to be around each other together, let’s keep this professional” situation.
Diesel is an outcast even with others diesels. Arry and Bert have each other for company and most the other diesels have enough good traits to dislike and be wary of his antics. Mavis, Paxton and Daisy are examples.
Diesel 10 seems to outright dislike and have very little patience for basically everyone. Even when he rallies all the other diesels together when Percy visits in DOTD, Diesel 10 is short tempered with most of them and ignores them where he can.
I'd love an adult centric version of this show, showing off in full the potential for a dark side to this world
Look up stories of sodor
It would just be like transformers but without humanoid robots it would just be....a vehicular manslaughter...

As someone who watched Thomas on PBS as a kid in the late 90s, I didn't know the lore was this deep.
I thought it was just a silly show about talking trains.
Wait till you see the theories about it being an Orwellian dystopia...
@ThighFish No its not. It's just a theory made by Normies.

In terms of power and ability: Sailor John
In terms of childhood nostalgia and personal preferences: D10
0:25 - The crybaby!
9:08 Aside from Rasputin (Anastasia) and the Phantom Virus (Scooby Doo and the Cyber Chase), Diesel 10 is without question the most iconic of the childhood villains I've seen, probably ever. He's scary, unsettling, intimidating, thuggish, brutish, etc. In short, aside from his post magic railroad downgrade to a Christmas ornament theif (🙄 ) he was still the perfect villain for the movie, shame we never got to find out more about his history prior to his arrival on sodor, along with why he became obsessed with Lady.
I don’t really watch this anymore, but I was on the Villains Wiki on the “Redeemed” category, and I found Diesel.
@@emperorbarina Someone shouldn't put that there since both Diesel and Diesel 10 remains bad by the end of their last appearance and the show's end. That have to be removed, same goes to 'Arry and Bert. I would have done it if I haven't been blocked for years.
@Princess Pixel Lol, no worries mate. I'd assume the same too, just hate how he was turned from a real villain into a joke like he was the last time I saw him. 👀
I'd love to see a prequel of some sorts with Diesel 10's backstory
THE PHANTOM VIRUS!!!!!! I JUST BEAT HIM THE OTHER DAY!!!
I think the worst thing Diesel ever did was when he tried to get Luke sent away. And when Thomas just wanted to help, he tried to manipulate even Thomas, telling him to "be careful" because "Luke might push him off the edge"
Luke was such a traumatized character and Diesel relentlessly tried to make it worse, even hurting Paxton by manipulating him
Captain John is the best villain that wasn't a sentient vehicle. The way he manipulates Thomas and then shows his true colors when he tries to stop him.
And to think he’s from the reboot

I really love the two at the Steelworks (Frankie and Hurricane), they actually *trap* Thomas and James, something that the other villains barely do to the other locomotives, thus making them unique in my opinion!
Not to mention they also have possibly the darkest like character trait, they kidnapped Thomas without letting him go, essentially turning him into a slave to help them with the work. Of course, it’s a lot less dark then this in the official movie, but if you look deep enough in the cocnept it becomes apparent that this movie has one of the darkest moments in the entire show lol.
Too bad the movie just chocks it up to feel bad for them in a forced way. Would’ve made sense for hurricane to do a 180 but Frankie they should’ve left her as a conniving villain, and see her get her comeuppance and then maybe have a change of heart. But no
0:25 - The crybaby!
@@lemmythebulldog8812
Agreed, Hurricane could’ve pulled an 180 cunning move upon Frankie!
@@lemmythebulldog8812 I hate that Hurricane, a steam engine, blindly follows orders from Frankie, a diesel! Shouldn't he be in charge? Hurricane's bigger and older than Frankie! And why doesn't any of the human workers at the Steel Works care that they both try to keep engines hostage in the Steel Works?! And who is the manager of the Steel Works?!?!?! If SLOTLT and the Director's Cut of Magic Railroad taught me anything, is that the story wouldn't make sense without a HUMAN villain!
You know, PT Boomer was originally supposed to be the first human villain of Thomas in TATMR, and Diesel 10 was going to be the secondary villain. However, he was cut for being quote on quote "boring and serious". So, Diesel 10 was made as the main villain and made him funnier and more likeable, just like Tamatoa from Moana.
I thought that P. T. Boomer was cut out of the film for being (cough, cough) “TOO SCARY”.
@@ciarangleeson2880 oh, yeah. That too. But, I don't understand why Boomer had to be cut out. I mean, Sailor John is a human villain, and they didn't cut him out of SLOTLT. I think it would make perfect sense to have human villains in Thomas more often.
Exactly!
@@ciarangleeson2880 Thank you! Imagine if Mattel actually made a remastered version of Magic Railroad in CGI Style.
George Clooney as Mr. Conductor
Sky Katz as Lily
Harrison Ford as Burnett Stone
Willem Dafoe as P.T. Boomer

Justin Felbinger as Patch
Jenny Slate as Stacy Jones
Temuera Morrison as Billy Twofeathers
Anya Joy-Tailor as Lady
Johnny Galecki as Splatter
Jim Parsons as Dodge
and Seth Rogan as George the Steamroller.
Nice casting choices! For Boomer, I originally would have gone with Mike Jones (Doug Lennox’s stunt double in the original film), but Willem Dafoe DEFINITELY fits the bill! And Johnny Galecki and Jim Parsons as Splatter and Dodge? I see what you did there! Also, Mara Wilson and Cody McCains could be brought back to play Lily and Patch after they grow up!
I’m glad Hurricane redeemed himself by risking his life to save Thomas from the molten slag. I wish he made more appearances because I really like his decapod design.
He is better than Frankie.
Diesel 10 in Thomas and the magic railroad was class. Shame they couldnt let the actor voice him in other appearances but also was a shame Diesel 10 didn't make more appearances.
Yeah, thanks to Mattel deeming him too scary just like with Boomer. He would have appeared more in CGI and have his evil nature returned fully.
@@DavidBContentExtravaganza3967Mattel didn't even own Thomas at the time Magic Railroad was produced. You guys always wanna go pick Mattel for everything, even when (sometimes) it's not their fault.
The fact that this ridiculous premise is played relatively straight just makes this video so much better.
Diesel 10 terrified me so much as a kid that I avoided rectangular/square-shaped brown-colored trains altogether
George probably caused the most deliberate damage of any antagonist in the classic series- ramming Sir Handel, derailing Thomas, and causing a high-speed collision. Roller could have killed some folk. Otoh, Bulgy abducts a hole host of people, including Jem Cole!
Could you imagine if the two of them teamed up with The Horrid Lorries?
@@ciarangleeson2880 That would be trouble. The Lorries could be like minions to Bulgy and George who would come up with plans.
Fun fact about spencer: he's an actual engine, that was made in the steam ages of the United Kingdom, the train was a Class A4 train, from the UK
You do realise that just about ALL the characters are based on real engines, right?

The problem isn't the trucks, it's the lack of brake vans. For the most part, brake vans can either keep the trucks in check themselves, or assist engines in keeping them in check.
Better yet, just don’t make the trucks sentient. Accident rates will plummeted from that.

I find Hurricane to be a unique engine both in appearance and personality. He's not necessarily evil, he just does what other people tell him.
I hate that Hurricane, a steam engine, blindly follows orders from Frankie, a diesel! Shouldn't he be in charge? Hurricane's bigger and older than Frankie!
@@dylanlyles9453 He might be bigger, but he's just the muscle. It's not like he's genuinely evil. He just prefers to do what Frankie tells him, if it benefits the two of them. I like to think that diesel isn't evil
He tried to be nice but duck played a trick on him humiliating him causing him to hate everyone
Except that he's fooling the engines with his oily charm and Duck was right to be suspcious about him, seeing that his true colours are revealed next episode by telling lies about Duck, showing that he's really a bad diesel who thinks that diesels are better than steam engines and want to make them obselute and replaced. Devious, bad and antagoistic can go to him if you prefer since he's more on the trickster level of villainy.
“But some people are Diesels” - A Lemon obsessed with Thomas the Tank Engine
Fk Diesels mate.
Characters like The Horrid Lorries and George I wouldn’t see as huge threats more like annoyances or bullies if anything. For Spencer wanting to get rid of Hiro is probably because he thought Hiro was a fancy express engine and didn’t want to be replaced, Vinnie while being much bigger than Spencer is also seen as a threat. Diesel and S.C.Ruffy are definitely the more evil villains but they soon get their comeuppances eventually but all the same don’t have them together in a shunting yard, trouble will be just around the corner. Arry, Bert, Frankie and Hurricane are pretty good villains but the iron twins just edged them out, I’m really not a fan of Frankie, while I admit she is intimidating but near the end her crying is just annoying and just breakers it for me. Diesel 10 P.T.Boomer and Sailor John definitely take the cake as the best Thomas villains (mainly Sailor John), they’re characters you don’t what to mess with, Sailor John especially as he’s oth only villain (and to an extent D10) that almost killed the main protagonist. Overall Thomas and Friends is not known for their villains but when they do they certainly leave a big impression
Edit: yes, I agree that the troublesome trucks are definitely the most evil characters in the franchise
Troublesome trucks are technically the worst, because of the multiple instances of them killing themselves, just to give pain to the engines
Frankie was manipulating people into helping her. In the end of the movie, she just did the same thing again and they all fell for it.

I'm surprised you didn't mention the time Diesel 10 helped clear the scrap from the airport after Thomas caused so much confusion and delay.
I know cause that was after he was evil diesel
Saying it was "after" he was evil diesel isn't exactly right, because when he returned and took over the steamworks, he was being evil again. It was more of a humanizing moment for Diesel 10.
I was thinking the same thing
‘The other railway’ / British railways should be on here, literally killing off thousands of sentient machines.
The blurry ai filter is kinda annoying but this is a pretty good video of my childhood. I don't have much hatred on these villains; I was fond of Class 40, Arry & Bert, Hurricane, Vinnie, Scruffy and maybe Diesel and Diesel 10. To young me there were all just trains, just as cool.
Diesel is also known as Devious Diesel, while Arry and Bert are also known as Iron Arry and Iron Bert. Diesel 10 is the most dangerous Villain of all time when he was gonna defeat Lady.
The spiteful brakevan's death has stuck with me for years; properly traumatised me as a child lol

Hi Tons of trackmasters!
That scene at the end surprised me. James didn't deserve that. xD
I agree that a majority of these characters are nothing more than bullies, than actual threats.
However, I noticed over time in children's entertainment. Especially with shows aimed at a much younger audience. The villains are nothing more than just bullies or simple-minded beings. Compared to what they used to be in the 80s.
Take The Care Bears for example. The show back then along with the movies had iconic villains such and The Evil Spirit, Professor Coldheart, Dark Heart, and No - heart. Now the show doesn't really have villains anymore.
Those that believe everyone means well are more vulnerable to manipulation, be it well intended (parents trying to get kids to behave) or not (ideologues pushing their dogmas)
I'd say Sailor John and Diesel 10. I sometimes get the feeling Diesel 10's like a murderous villain straight out of a thriller or something like that. I've had thoughts of him killing me with his claw.
It's never explicitly stated, but I'm pretty sure that the Trucks might actually have a kill count, specifically in the episode Put-upon Percy, where they caused a mine to collapse. Surely somebody was buried alive.
100% they are assholes. Looking back it's mad to think how casually Arny and Berth tried to murder Stephanie and its a show for kids 😂
Never thought I'd see an in depth discussion of Thomas villains. But this was great fun to watch! Personally I still rank Diesel 10 as the most dangerous due to the fact he basically almost committed steam engine genocide 🤣 Kinda surprised PT Boomer didn't make the list, although he was a deleted villain so I don't know if he should count.
Boomer's motivation stemmed from personal conflict with Burnett, while Diesel 10's stemmed from hatred of steam engines themselves. Boomer only wanted to destroy Lady as revenge against Burnett, when Diesel 10 wanted to destroy her to destroy all steam engines by extension.
I think it’s worth pointing out that Iron Arny and Iron Bert are only as dangerous as they are because of the potent weapon, the Smelt Works, at their disposal. Decommissioning the Smelters or moving them to a different assignment far away from there would render them toothless, and honestly, I’m surprised STH hasn’t scrapped and smelted THEM, (having diesels run such an dangerous operation is undeniably unwise, particularly a pair as malicious as these two), or at the very least done what I just said, and reassigned them away from the Smelt Works and assigned a pair of Steam engines to do it instead.
I kinda just realized, but, Hiro NEEDS to have been a modified jnr D51 to be running on standard gauge rails
Somewhat appropriate that the most dangerous villains are those created by Rev Wilbert Audrey. Maybe that's what makes them and Diesel such great characters, they are the everyday villains that anyone could meet. And of course a priest would notice this "Human evil", and teach kids how to deal with it.
"Your colours nice James, pity about your face though!" that has GOT to hurt
Glad to have you back!
Sailor John is the first "offical" human villian. P.T Boomer was cut from Thomas & the magic railroad for being too scary, and was reworked in the final cut to be a biker that's just asked for directions.
There was still a shot of him riding Diesel 10 in the final film.
if you really think about it diesel 10's plan in DOTD isn't childish it acually kinda evil
In that case, I feel like I should tell you this. Have you ever of “Thomas Rewritten”? It’s a series of audio stories that are actually rewrites of the more mediocre episodes of the series, with a few original characters and stories tossed in here and there, and it has an overarching plot that will eventually lead up to a rewrite of “Day Of The Diesels”.

Very accurate, and the top-tier villains are actually reasonably stated of why they’re up there. Especially the trucks.
I think goerge would be higher as he caused two crashes in his final episode bye George and so does arry and bert
Also even though i do like diesel 10 sailor john a very, very dangerous villain simply for the fact hes a human
I wouldn't say the trucks are evil but more or less chaotic neutrals and half of the accidents they caused were the lack of respect they were getting from being bumped about half of the time
It's really weird to see all these relatively newer Thomas the Tank Engine movies and series, with smooth CGI and actual moving faces.

Mr Ryan uploaded on my birthday 🎉 great video
The greatest villain in Thomas & Friends was none other than British Railways
You can’t blame them. It was a time of industrialisation evolution back then and steam engines have to go because they are outgrown their time when more generations of technology have became advance, replacing those before them. Unfortunately, it was a matter of time before the inevitable comes.
I'd argue the most evil troublesome trucks were the set in a close shave considering they broke away just cause they felt like it (at least in busy going backwards they did to give toad a "be careful what you wish for") also the close shave accident could've been extremely severe potentially killing passengers and to top it off the narrator said "but the trucks didn't care they were feeling very pleased"
It took me a majority of the video to realize that this is a dedicated channel to Thomas The Tank Engine.
Honestly, I absolutely have to respect it.
Thomas was a favorite of mine as a little kid, I love to see it myself lol
In my book any train that rebels against there conductors are the most dangerous. Someone is usually behind the wheel of these trains to keep them in check when working. Without them then all heck will break loose with people getting hurt. Which I would think would be more focused on later seasons to give them some character given the amount of times they were mentioned in some disasters.
The question of engines needing drivers is a weird one. I think in Railway Series, they always do, and in Magic Railroad (aside from Lady; also note that it's a separate canon) they never do; although that's judging from Thomas, it presumably applies to all steam engines in the film. I don't think diesels are ever shown with drivers, at least outside RWS. I'm pretty sure steamies are normally shown with drivers in the model era, and I'm not really sure about the CGI era.
Great video! Love your comparisons. If I can offer any advice, I've noticed that some of your footage has a kind of filter on it, I think it's supposed to be a type of upscaling? In my opinion it is distracting and the footage would be better without it. Otherwise great job!
I recently rewatched T&TMRR and boi Diesel 10 still manages to scare the crap out of me. He's one of the best
