yes ....I NEVER get tired of this performance......HEART is the best...love seeing how the Zep boys are grooving on the performance!!! Best of the best Rock and Roll....
Ann Wilson has one of the most powerful female voices. And her sister Nancy can play a mean guitar. This is one of the best tributes to Led Zeppelin with Ann & Nancy doing the classic song "Stairway To Heaven". No one else could have pulled it off as well. "Heart" have had so many great hits such as "Magic Man", "Crazy on You", "Barracuda", "What About Love", "Never", "Dog & Butterfly", "These Dreams" & "Alone".
My friend, check out the band Plush. They are the next great girl band. I saw them live. I , a 40s women, saw them as on opener to Mammoth and it was fantastic.
Besides being one of the best covers ever, Jason Bonham, John’s son, was playing the drums. LZ didn’t know he was going to be their to honor his father, that’s why they look so surprised. And the bowler hats that John wore were on the choir. Nice touch. Great reaction!!
I've watched a lot of ppl react to this particular cover, and yours by far gave me the most joy. Your reaction was amazing. Ann and nancy wilson are rock legends
There is musical genius, then there is another level where music is put so beautifully, that we are left speechless. When music is made that is so beautiful that we hear it in the rain, that is what we must hold onto. This is one of those performances. Great choice my friend. Thanks!!!!
The sheer joy on your face is a sight to behold and your appreciation of this exquisite performance is wonderful. Ann and Nancy Wilson can do no wrong in my eyes and this is no exception! I’ve watched this video many times over the years and I think it’s the best cover of ANY song I’ve ever heard! Stunning. ❤
I’ve said this so many times, but I always mean it. This is Led Zeppelin finally hearing what we’ve all heard every time we’ve heard Stairway over the last 51 years.
I’ve watched at least a hundred of these reaction videos on this and each time the guitar solo guy does his thing, I think he looks like Sheldon from Big Bang Theory.
I loved your reaction! So much joy on your face! Ann and Nancy Wilson are from Seattle, where I grew up. Love them. Wasn't Ann amazing being able to sing to the back of the room, past 2 choirs, and all those instruments, at her age. She and her sister Nancy are legends in their own right.
To pull this off so flawlessly.. only Heart- And just imagine they’re doing this song WITH LZ right there watching! Robert Plant brought to tears- Watched this many times, and it never gets old- 💜🙂✌️
Before anybody gets too far into this - please be reminded that Ann did the singing and Nancy played a little rhythm guitar. Props go to Ann for a great job singing a song she has been singing since the first days of the band "Heart". Ann and Nancy did NOT do any of the orchestration, arrangement, or production. The majority of the praise must go to the unnamed person who did the musical arrangement, the fabulous musicians and choirs (especially guitarist Wayne Fontaine), and the producer who brought it all together.
Don't be a party pooper.everyone on that stage and in the production of it really did a spectacular job, as did the originators for bringing it to life. it's a special song because of the words and message behind them.it was a collective effort 👌
@@BobSoltis1 No Robert I'm not. I'm stating my opinion and giving everyone involved, including Heart, equal praise in pulling this rendition of Stairway off.
You made an accusation that I was a "party pooper" when I stated the facts about the production. I did not malign anybody's participation. I stated that Ann deserved props for her rendition. I also brought up the fact that the production was awesome and that the arranger, orchestrator, and producer(s) did a spectacular job. And for that you called me "a party pooper". Here's an opinion for you: You are a complete and utter dishonest troll.
It took a whole orchestra to pull off this song originally done by 4 guys. But boy what a tribute. You can see the pride on Jimmy's, Robert's, and John's faces. And the nerve it took to get up and do this in front of the surviving Zeppelin members is mind blowing
The lady playing acoustic guitar is Nancy Wilson, the singer is Ann Wilson...they're sisters! Both Robert Plant and Jimmy Page wrote this song. BTW, the late drummer's son is playing the drums in honour of his Dad... John "Bonzo" Bonham
I love this tribute. I love how vocalists and instruments begin to evolve throughout then the orchestra and choir. What a experience to have been there. Although poor Robert, although I am sure he loved this cover by Heart, he has learned to hate Stairway to Heaven. Too many sad memories, loss of his son and he was also involved in a bad accident during that time.
Robert Plant and Jimmy Page wrote Stairway to Heaven. The woman singing and the woman playing the guitar are sisters. Ann and Nancy Wilson of "Heart". The guy on the drums is Jason Bonham, the son of the late John Bonham (drummer for Led Zeppelin) It always help to do the research before the reaction as you missed so much looking away to research on your phone.
Your reaction put a huge smile on my face. Watching the pure joy you experienced while watching this incredible tribute was awesome! And yes, Heart completely knocked this one right out of the stadium! Ann's voice was made for this song! And the way she belted out "roll" gives me goosebumps every single time!
If you’ve ever reviewed Magic Man, Barracuda, Alone, Crazy on You, These Dreams or any of Heart’s songs from the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s and on these sister Ann (vocals) and Nancy Wilson (guitar) fronted that band. Ann was 62 and Nancy 58 during this performance.
I grew up listening to Heart. My Mother's favorite band. The voices!!! They bring me back to my childhood. Beginning in the 70's when I was really little, my Mom played her 33 records to help my brothers and I nap. I love Heart!!! If you have time, check out Heart's Here Song. Beautiful!!! Thanks!!!
Ann Wilson was in her 60s when she did this performance! What a powerhouse vocal! Amazing performance by all involved in bringing this together-orchestra, arrangement, choir, etc etc.
I've watched this many, many times. Whenever the entire choir is revealed I get goosebumps still. So good. In fact the entire Led Zep tribute is great. From Jack Black to Heart.
Great reaction, and that's from somebody who has watched dozens of reactions to this video. Two things for you to check out, if you wish. The first is the very thorough and technical reaction to this tribute by Fil on his YT channel "Wings of Pegasus". Not better than yours, just different. The other is to watch Nancy Wilson play the guitar intro for "Crazy on You". When Rick Beato was counting down his top 20 guitar intros, Nancy's intro was, like, number 14. But it was the only one that Rick shied away from personally demonstrating. He said that is was too difficult, so he just showed an amazing, amazing clip.
Ann Wilson absolutely killed it in this tribute. They all did for sure. But her vocals were insane. And can you imagine the pressure with that guitar solo with Jimmy Page sitting right there watching 😲
Way to kick off September. The Kennedy Center performances are so cool. This one is one of the best - so fab all around. Another of my faves is Springsteen doing Sting's "I Hung My Head" at another Kennedy Center Honors.
Kennedy Center Honors Aretha Franklin surprised the Great songwriter singer Carol King, with singing her big hot Natural Women, best Live Performance by Aretha. Carol was being Honard.. Queen is also good, at Honors,
Hopefully noticed that the drummer was the late John Bonham's son. Jimmy Page seemed to love the tribute, and can you imagine how nervous the guitarist must have been? Okay, a lot of guitarists play this song, but in front of the originator of the song itself? Sitting up there being honoured? Holy Smokes!! BUT, he nailed it!!! And best of all, Jimmy loved it!!
Good job man! Keep listening keep reacting keep posting keep loving music. And when you get a chance to check out the entire Kennedy center honors tribute to led Zeppelin. Some really fantastic performances from the likes of kid Rock Jack Black and Lenny Kravitz. You will love it 😀
Here are a few items which you might enjoy (and which I did not see in the first few dozen comments listed): • Ann Wilson was 62 when she sang this as part of the Kennedy Center Honors tribute to Led Zeppelin • The drummer, Jason Bonham, is not only John Bonham's son, but is also Robert Plant's godson • Robert Plant had invited Jason to attend the honors, but Jason lied to him and told him that he had already committed to a gig in L.A. that night • This is the only cover of "Stairway to Heaven" which Robert Plant has openly said he's enjoyed
Very similar feeling is when Carole King was a 2015 Kennedy Center Honor recipient and Aretha Franklin performed "A Natural Woman" at the ceremony in her honor. If you haven't seen it, SEE IT! I've just seen a few of your reaction videos tonight and now I'm afraid I might have a new addiction. I need to see which songs you have already reacted to but one I usually recommend is "Holding Back the Years by Simply Red. And I'm finding that it seems impossible that there was a time when certain songs hadn't existed. How could "Bridge Over Troubled Waters" have not existed at one point in time. It feels like it had to have been born with the universe.
I like Heart's rendition better than the Led Zeppelin original. Ann and Nancy Wilson have been badass rockers for decades - Ann is around 60 at this 2012 performance, and still has one of the most powerful voices in rock. Nancy's a damn good guitarist, as well.
THIS WAS SO FUN !! I HOPE YOU ALL ENJOYED 😄
Best cover I've ever heard and seen. I saw LZ in 1973 when I was 16. But this was off the hook! So glad you enjoyed it JB 😊
Another top performance to come from the Kennedy Center Honors is Aretha Franklin performing “Natural Woman” honoring Carol King
🎼I had goosebumps when I first heard this tribute… and I got goosebumps again watching you experiencing it. Keep the good music coming!🎼☮️
one of the absolute best videos on all of youtube. we can't watch it enough times!!
❤️
Can we just take a second to appreciate the absolute courage of Shane Fontayne. Playing that solo in front of guitar god Jimmy Page….OMG!!!
The smile on your face throughout the entire song, says it ALL! 🥰
It is truly amazing when someone’s voice can rise above all the music around them and stand out as n such an impressive way.
and watching THIER reaction to Heart covering this great song is PRICELESS!
That whole tribute concert rocks the house. Heart finished it off like the best icing possible on the cake ❤

Isn’t this just one of the best things you’ve seen in your life? 😃

62yrs old, and pulling the most legendary song and killing it, in front of the most legendary band. Incredible!
And she apparently had the flu

fun fact : the saxophone player is Blue Lou Marini. You may have seen him as part of the Blues Brothers band 🙂
Original SNL band, too
\Absolute Classic

I enjoyed seeing your smile again, more than the video.

The audio on this video has one of the best quality sounds of all those available. Some are such muddy cr*p.

Just a bit of trivia, the drums that Jason is playing were his dad's drums
"The Jury" is the original Band. 🙂
It was PLANT and Page that wrote it.
