    I'd love to see SloMoGuys do a spot on this motor. It'd be awesome to see the combustion in action!

    Saw this a long time ago, and got back here through an engine mix. Love the visible combustion, and as an engineer that does wood and metal working, and design, I wanna say this is a beautiful piece of workmanship. You do high credit to the amateur, in the old revered sense of "done beautifully for love", not it's current distorted meaning
    of something sub-par to "professionally done". Brass an aluminum finishes complement well.

    Here it is 2019 and I'm just finding this remarkable machine. It proves my theory that glass cylinders can be used for such things. Love the work you have done, excellent and thank you.

    *It uses fuel vapor from the fuel tank. BRILLIANT! All engines should have been built like this 130 years ago, this is so smart but so few do it*

      Both r exothermal reactions

    • @sidecarbod1441
      @sidecarbod1441 8 років тому

      It's a rapid burn, not an explosion. :-)

    • @sidecarbod1441
      @sidecarbod1441 8 років тому

      So what? They are both the oxidation of a fuel but in an engine an explosion will destroy the engine is a very short period of time, a rapid burn won't.

    This is awesome! Interesting to see the actual explosions happening inside a combustion engine in real time. I once saw something recorded through a tiny glass window in a car motor but you could not really see much. here you can see everything.

    Hallo Douglas,
    There was a small leakage indeed. But after cleaning I glued the glascylinder with Loctite 603 for the second time. This problem is solved and the engine runs still better.

    Absolutely exquisite.
    Only a few minor comments, about spelling:
    "Cilinder" is correctly spelled "Cylinder"
    "Neodyme Magnet" is actually "Neodymium Magnet"
    I don't want in any way to detract from the amazing engine you've built, I'm just a wacko about spelling.

    The shaft is indeed hollow, but the intake and exhaust are separated by a piece of silverstee rod.
    Stroke 1: 0 degree- intake opened- exhaust closed
    Stroke 2 : -90 degree - compression- intake and exhaust closed
    Stroke 3: -180 degree- combustion- intake and exhaust closed
    Stroke 4:-270 degree - intake closed- exhaust opened
    Friendly greetings from Holland

    You often read articles about how combustion engineers design cylinder heads and attempt to optimize the 'flame front' and a bunch of other technical terms. But, how do they possibly get empirical data on what actually happens inside a running engine?

      hintzofcolorconcepts Oh, electric guy, your electric motor pollutes by producing co2 and o3, because of the electricity going through the copper coils. And the battery leaks lithium, it's really toxic. Some days ago a battery from by friend phone leaked, I just smelled it for a bit and I was sleepy all day. Imagine your cars. Hydrogen internal combustion engines are the way.

    WD 40 as rustpreventer is only for maintenance to avoid rustforming on the valve and the valvehole. The material of the valve an the CYLINDER block is cast iron. Never lubricate the graphite piston with oil!
