Well schools could make a distinction so that students could carry “dumb phones” but it would be a parents responsibility to work with the school in following through with the policy. I do agree that students need phones because of this very American problem and these policies really need to be thought out more. Still, these things have to be the responsibility of everyone be it the school, the parent, the child.

Most responsible gun owners have a least one or two unlocked, loaded firearms for home defense. Handgun, shotgun or rifle. The rest secured, and ammo separated. In today's world, it is better to have an AR pistol, ballistic armor, and handgun due to multiple intruder threat. More readily accessible.

I want to understand your opinion. Don't these children and parents have a choice as to whether they want to be interviewed? Seems like the overwhelming majority decline media attention, I don't know honestly I could be wrong. Do the one's that do the interviews want to have their stories and voices heard? Are you uncomfortable hearing their stories, or do you disagree with their message or the implications of their statements? It's not just the media interviewing these children, law enforcement is interviewing them as well (I don't think they have a choice in this case), is that less traumatizing?
I hate MSM, it's all about ratings, they distort the. truth to get views, they do more opining than reporting, they repeat the same stories over and over again as if they are saying different things hour after hour. But stuff like this seems more like their job> I don't have a problem with investigative reporting and interviews of eyewitnesses and victims in tragedies, natural disasters, sporting, and other major events.

There are many reasons the youth today have so much anxiety... but growing up thinking about this all the time definitely messes us up mentally even if it doesn´t end up happening. It´s like growing up in an active war zone with the potential to get attacked at any second, but being gaslighted into thinking everything is ok. "No safety at all/anywhere" - Ariel. Exactly. The day after this happened, an Elementary school student in my city had a gun in school. Another student found it and turned it in to a teacher or another staff member.
The gun didn’t have any ammo luckily but the fact that an Elementary school student had access to a gun is awful.
Idk much on that situation but I’m glad it’s not another shooting.
But it’s awful that school shootings are happening more often in recent years...

I want to add in that the school year after I graduated my city started a rule for public schools.
In classrooms students have to put their phones in a pocket chart.
My thought is, what if there was a shooting in my city? It would take a while for students to receive their phones to call their families and call 911.
Despite already graduating, my sister, my other family members, and their friends are still in school.
      I graduated May, 2023 btw.

This is untrue as it only has validity inside the TSA security screened area. If qualified by profession and even some RFOs, a person can carry directly on an aircraft. Fairly common in the USA. Where people get in trouble is foreign countries without clearance during customs inspections.
