I've heard that the Royal Guard purposely chooses horses like that, to keep the tourists on edge. Personally, I think tourists shouldn't even bother with these guys, and not spend any money there. When the revenue stops, the people of Britain will demand an end to the free-loading royals, and they can take these "mock soldiers" (maybe some have served in actual military assignments, I really don't know... but this grandstanding is a farce) with them quite frankly.

If they didnt want the guards to be part of the show, they would have a lot more barriers and strict policies around them to prevent interference and distractions. But the govarment WANTS ppl and tourist to take selfies and pictures with the guards. They want it to be a tourist attraction, it makes a lot of money for them.

As an American even I have always admired the British Royal Guard for their discipline and service. I truly respect the idea of on-duty soldiers protecting a very traditional role and place. Even compared to the sentries at the Tomb of The Unknown Soldier, those guards have to protect several buildings, not just a tomb.

Personally I love the videos involving them. Every aspect, whether it be laughing, the little boys pretending to be one, them walking on protesters, etc. I would not personally disrespect them though especially not as a tourist. I've lived in California all my life, and even I know NOT to mess with the Royal Guards. People who mess with the Royal Guards should be held accountable to the full extent of the law.
I love the parts where the guards gave a smile and a little chuckle!. After all they are still human too!

No tourists should be anywhere near the guard. Any area of London where there might be a uniformed guard should be off limits to tourists. Five figure fine and serious jail time for interrupting a guard in any way!

As an American even I have always admired the British Royal Guard for their discipline and service. I truly respect the idea of on-duty soldiers protecting a very traditional role and place. Even compared to the sentries at the Tomb of The Unknown Soldier, those guards have to protect several buildings, not just a tomb.

Personally I love the videos involving them. Every aspect, whether it be laughing, the little boys pretending to be one, them walking on protesters, etc. I would not personally disrespect them though especially not as a tourist. They are so cool and fascinating to me so I would personally respect them in real life.

Dude i saw that video and i didn’t know we had a similar version. My family and i visited england and we had our moments there with a few guards and it was so amazing. As a kid i had no idea they were actual soldiers. Thought it was ceremonial.

What a difference / example displayed by the little boys at the end (6:31) dressed up in mini uniform and saluting the real, actual guards! And that one guard who kindly corresponds with the child and his mother, allowing them to take a picture with mutual respect and admiration.
