I would be interested to hear his thoughts / views on the Mauser 66 - I have one in .270 Win and reckon it is a brilliant deer rifle, short & light to carry. The only complaint is that with heavier loads it does bite a bit!
Is it normal to have the first of 5 rounds somewhat hang up in these rifles? I noticed in the video it seems to hang up some and my 1903 has the same issue whether im using round nose, spitzer, or flat points (its my only rifle that will feed them) Unrelated note. Im surprised mine fed spitzer ammo well
The M.S. rotary mag was designed to feed certain types bullets and feeding troubles is almost always cause by the wrong shaped bullets being used,my 1903 6.5 x 54 feeds 160gn Hornady round nose like butter and there is a 129gn spritzer that it likes also but you have to experiment and find what shape it likes and that includes seating the bullets to different lengths also.Once you have your ammo dialed in it will feed just as smooth as a Krag Jorganson, and thats damned smooth!
Surely you're aware that all five cartridges can be loaded with one smooth push of the thumb by use of a 'stripper clip'? Also, one can release the mag spool with a finger of the left hand (the ol' reach around) while catching the cartridges with the right hand. Takes practice, but it works.

@@headbutt67 Mauser 98 clips work for my M1910 (9.5X57 / .375 Nitro Express Rimless).
