Single shot shotguns rarely get the same attention single shot rifles get. Very few high end single shot shotguns are made, and most are trap guns. I have an old Beretta thats very nice!

How did they fill the openings for the pins when converting to center fire?

So good to learn about the old guns, when you are shooting them could you please also tell us what cartridges you're using (loads, powder type, factory or handloads)?

Shakari? Chakari? Chakaria town in Zimbabwe, a mine a golf course and in the bar at the golf course / sports club, you lost all track of time. Chakari also the Shona name for a Pheasant. And lost of people call their cats and some pet lions Chakari.

Hi Diggory If l am not mistaken, you screened & spoke about this very rifle , a while ago , enjoyed watching nevertheless.

How many hours of man work went into making that, not alone the craftsmanship and knowledge to start with.

Nothing more graceful or dignified than a classic hand built double rifle. That rifle will be around for a good long time yet. A more classic caliber the .470 Nitro Express you will never find.

I have one made an 1865 and all of a sudden I cannot get the breach to open. I’m sure that it’s something very simple but I don’t want to try to force it and I’m concerned about taking it apart. Do you have any advice?
