Great video and thanks for posting it! Love my model 1908 Mannlicher-Schönauer with the double set triggers!

They are such elegant little rifles, I wouldn't mind having a few more...

Excellent instruction! I just took mine apart and cleaned everything. I even got it back together! I would like to add that my extractor was only held in place by the fit between the bolt body and bolt head, and it pretty much fell out into my hand when I slid the bolt body off. It's not broken, everything still functions fine, it's just the way it is. Mine is a 1952 model, so there may be some design variation there.

Excellent video. Thank you. If I may add one piece of advice. At the 4:48 mark, when reinstalling the firing pin nut, do not overtighten it. When reinstalling, turn the nut clockwise just until it clicks. I mistakenly tightened it past the click and the bolt would no longer fully seat in the receiver.

What's the thread diameter on those barrels? 1"x12tpi? I've got one in 7x57 but the throat looks porous lava. What's the chance I can spin on a large ring mauser barrel, witness mark it and cut the extractor grooves? I've got a mill, no lathe.

Hi Kurt, I just acquired an Mannlicher Schoenauer 1903 rifle (not full stock) 6.5x54. It is an Austrian build and I want to take it completely apart to clean it. Any Idea how to get the trigger out? It looks like the entire barrel needs to come off of the stock to get it done. Thanks for the bolt lesson!

Remove the screw on the pistol grip. Be careful because it is a very thin screw slot that can easily be damaged. Then pull up on the trigger guard rotating it forward. It keys into a slot there. Once that is removed you will expose a screw that goes up into the receiver, once that is removed you can take out the whole trigger assembly without completely disassembling the rifle.

Awesome video bro! I inherited a model 1952 from my late-father. It was his favorite rifle and since I’m new to the sport and this rifle all together, I was looking for some advice on how to maintain it, how frequently, and maybe even some tips on cleaning up the wood. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Also this end cap at 1:34 is REALLY REALLY Stuck.... definitely doesn't turn as easy as you did it, any idea on how to get it loose?
