I just downloaded Fallout 4 again to see what the nostalgia is. But for the next Fallout i personally would like something similar to Baldur's Gate 3, take it back to its original state.
without mods high frame rates break everything btw. The character animations, game clock, and weather are all synced to frame rate for some reason so when I was pushing 1000FPS the game was unplayably fast. Like break neck speeds the UI can't even handle.
basicaly non of the big important bugs ppl constantly run in to are fixed and 21:9 support is just a flat out lie. it doesnt work. 3440x1440 resolution isn't even an option. no options for fov, fps limit, v-sync... you still have to fiddle around in the fallout.ini and gpu driver for that stuff. nothing about this is nex-gen. effectively the patch just ads some mid-tier creation club stuff and breaks all your mods. London developers are just lying. They were never supposed to release the mod in the promised date. They just blamed this update for it. In Discord, since this update was announced, we told the team to just make a mandatory requisite to have the GOG version or to use the trick of the Vortex mod manager to fool Steam in think the last update is installed. The team never said anything. They just canceled the release.
@@Rangure02 I wouldn't say they're "lying", but I would agree that there's a strange amount of dramatics over this release when we've known this was coming for years, they've informed us of each delay, it seemed like a no brainer would be some time near the release of the show, and there are literal ways to get around this and even downgrade your game if you accidentally auto-updated if Fallout London is actually important to anyone. Especially when the one thing people keep pointing to as a reason for upgrading PC was Ultrawide support. I sincerely doubt the majority of people complaining about ultrawide support being improperly implemented are actually a part of the 2.1% of reported owners. It's just regurgitation. It's also been funny seeing people like "Bethesda did this to break mods because Fallout London was coming to kick their ass.". Like. Yeah, a FREE mod for BETHESDA'S game is gonna kick THEIR ass. 😂😂

I'd be fine with waiting as long as we knew that what arrives will be worth waiting for. Rockstar will probably release only a couple of GTA games in my whole remaining lifetime, and I'm only in my mid 20s. But there's a good chance that they will be bangers. With Bethesda, at this point my main thought is "please just don't make it even more dumbed down"

@@deathtrooper2048 literally every single update for Cyberpunk 2077 breaks all core mods, just like in this case. the difference is that Cyberpunk 2077 was a good game to begin with, and the 2.0 update made it even better, so it's worth the trouble. the Fallout 4 update does next to nothing for PC players, but breaks everything.
The game is now broken on the Steam Deck OLED. The steam deck subreddit is having a meltdown now after having told everyone to “wait for the next Gen update.” I swear to god people never learn.
FYI there us no actual ultrawide support in this update, the uis are broken and everything was just stretched. They did the BARE MINIMUM to look like it but it's just 16 9 stretched into 21 9

The update ruined my performance on Xbox. One of the new quests is totally broken. Wish I had pictures or video to share, but there were giant red exclamation marks all over the place. The new weapons are all invisible, and at one point there was a guy shooting red exclamation marks at me form an invisible gun. Good times.

this update was more for us console players. i’m not really sure what you pc guys were expecting, and i’m sorry it may not meet your expectations and obviously breaking the mods are a huge blow, but being able to play 60fps on console is a godsend for us. If anything i think it should have been an optional update for pc

So let me understand this. For people who know BGS didn't fix anything of importance the main thing was the "creations" update like how skyrim works now. Every once in a while I like to sit back and close my eyes, imagining an alternate reality where Interplay and Black isle studios still existed and was making Fallout games.
Even for console they couldn't bother with the biggest request of updating the mod limit, because they " didn't want to break mods and load orders", meanwhile my whole game crashed and load order is broke. Just about worthless as most of the stuff they "fixed" had mods that weren't file heavy.
Just make sure all mods that require the script extender are disabled, make a collection for your current load order tho so u can reapply it once script extender gets updated

I think out of the dozens of mentions of this series and this exact game, this is the most concise and considered synopsis you've given about the fallout 4 experience. Personally I feel the exact same way, it's about a step up from some Borderlands game but not quite a Witcher 3 or even much of an RPG

@@Rangure02 Fallout: London requires F4SE, which circumvents steams update anyways (If you aren't a total dipshit you'd have set steam to update only on game launch years ago, since if you launch FO4 through F4SE steam doesn't detect it as launched). The FO4: London devs are just full of shit, they even said a while back that they wouldn't be porting the mod to Next Gen before. Something was probably fucked up with the mod and they're using the update as a way to fix issues
one of the main advantages of having a pirated version of the game on hand is that you don't have to deal with mods breaking if you don't care that much about the most recent updates.
The first time they talked about this patch... they talked about something NEXT GEN (ENHANCED), and that was right after the witcher 3 did the same thing... everyone thought it would be a total increase... better graphics...bug fixes, stability, etc, etc! Without any information for months and months, some began to think that the update might not be released... with the insistence of fans for more information, Bethesda announced that it would come after the release of the series on Amazon and made everyone feel relieved and more excited again. Even because it took more than 1 year to do this upgrade, everyone thought it would be something big! The truth is the opposite! Bethesda not only didn't improve but also fucked up a lot of things, which after the whole fallout 76 case and criticism of starfild, it's amazing how nothing changes and they continue to be liars and disrespectful! Fallout 4 had NO GRAPHIC IMPROVEMENTS! What they did was increase the resolution and fps in the console version! If you played on PS4 or Xbox One and are now on PS5/Series X, you will see an improvement in image quality... but IT IS NOT A GRAPHIC IMPROVEMENT! Ray tracing, mechanics and content graphical improvement is what Cdprojectred did with the witcher 3! ON PC you have an eternal bug that when running at more than 60 fps the physics of the game is broken THEY DIDN'T FIX THAT! There is a graphics option linked to the Nvidia GameWorks graphics library that can be activated in the game to improve bullet fragments and impacts (and it looks much better) but for years activating it means crashes and crashes.. you run the game for a few minutes and it will always crash and in more than 1 YEAR of ""working"", THEY DIDN'T FIX IT! To make matters worse... the patch broke many mods, many mods are simply completely unstable! all thath for what???? Better graphics? NO! Improved mechanics? NO! Improved gameplay? NO! For bug fixes that have plagued users for years, especially on PCs? NO! So why did we have this patch that is a disgrace for the modding community, and it didn't improve anything??? MONEY !

@@__jojo__ If this was a game that was still getting meaningful content updates (such as Far Harbor, Workshop DLCs, or even bugfixes) I could agree with putting the game aside until mods were updated. The thing here, is that BGS took a game that is well past it's end of support and hasn't seen an official update since maybe 2017? (could be wrong) And decided to make very minimal changes that break the game for people that have been tweaking their load order for years now, hell, I'm sure that there's people that have been playing the same character for years who likely, cannot do so after this update unless they knew how to prevent the update, or know how to revert it. There is nothing "abnormal" about being upset that something you loved/enjoyed and could consistently rely on is broken or taken away, I would too, be upset, if I hadn't prevented the update and the 3 years I spent on my load order was basically destroyed (remember, a lot of the OG modders no longer maintain/create mods so a good number of them will have to be let go if we wish to use the new update). There's no need to insinuate that this person isn't "normal", its harsh and entirely unnecessary.
I actually always loved fallout 4. It doesnt have some of the awesome rpg elements nv has, but its an easy game to get lost in. And the ps5 version is super smooth. Over the years its become harder to keep my pc up to date, so ive slowly moved to console gaming. Playstation gets shafted in the mod department, so an update like this really goes a long way. Ive been having a blast back in the commonwealth. Ad victoriam! P.s. The load times on the ps5 are epic. Less than 10 second load times is soooooo good compared to a minute or two. Also crazy how good the game looks on the ps portal. Modders are pissed ha, but things will get fixed. In the words of Walter in the Big Lebowski - "Nothing is fucked here, Dude."
1. fix the lever action reload, ffs bethesda stop being lazy 2. fix the z fighting in certain parts of the map 3. give us the ability to skip kellog's memories, its a buggy ass sequence that should be skippable 4. give us the ability to skip dima's memories 5. let us scrap rubble in settlements without breaking precombines 6. let us repair scrapped houses at our settlements without breaking precombines
The free CC content isn't version dependent. This means you can update and roll back without losing that sweet new mod dlc. You can have all your mods and the new content.
I guess it would be possible to extract the free CC content from your hard drive and put it there on a google drive or something for everyone to download for free.

I was playing fallout 4 for the first time since 2015 a week before this update. I played today, and it's so SOOO smooth. It's now 60fps or more and it's great. I got lucky asf with this update

If you're playing on PC and using mods that require the script extender, it's basically just always going to break with an update, however it's usually fixed within a couple of weeks at most
So uhm Luke, if you're going to have Afterburner on the screen, it would help knowing what the numbers besides FPS mean. Your 4090 is chugging at 20-30% load. So, you're entirely CPU bound. Frametimes also look horrendous, so I'm guessing one of the mods you're using is bricking the engine hard.

Don't know why people love Skyrim that much either, I personally never finished it (I usually quit after doing the major guilds - mages, assassins, thieves etc.)...and I've tried multiple times with multiple version of the game :(

To be honest, this update only truly benefits the PS5, wich was the only platform stuck in 30 fps. On Xbox all that thing does is force me to put the game on the already cramped internal storage unit when until yesterday the game ran fine from an external mechanical HD. On PC, it only serves the purpose of breaking people's mods. The "extra content" hardly makes up for all the mods from the last 9 years.

I expected a next gen update to look, you know, *next gen*. This looks the same as before. Worse if you compare to graphics enhancing mods. But given that Bethesda made it I probably shouldn't have expected anything noteworthy in that regard. Also, stop calling twitter "X." It's cringy as hell.
They made some of the coolest games that are also some of the worst games. Bethesda is like a perfect coffee but you used red bull instead of water and poured the coffee into a sock.

Lost my load order and completely removed them from my library lmao I gotta try to remember them all and search for them manually. Plus the mods menu randomly crashes to the main screen when looking through mods making this process much more tedious

@GTSN38 Going straight from the 30 fps ps4 version to the 60fps ps5 version is absolutely night and day. The resolution is why higher and a lot more crisp. I couldn't stand this game when it first came out but it's definitely a massive improvement.
@@GTSN38it's a massive improvement compared to what it was I tried it the day before and before the update and it's much better I think it could still be better but for consoles it's a great improvement. I also tried PC and it's slightly better looking but the update was really for console they should have been crystal clear about this and they should have worked with the modders more to make sure things didn't break although I've not seen any issues myself it seems like lots are.

It does and also on ps5 you can switch your ps5 system resolution output to 1440p and you can have the 60 fps and the quality mode graphic settings instead of dynamic 4K with standard settings and 60 fps
14:55 even if we count Fallout 76 it would still be 17 years!!! It's a crazy amount of time for a successfull franchise. The longest time between two Fallout games was between FNV (2010) and FO4 (2015) and I would even argue that it was only 4 years because most of the DLC of FNV was released in 2011...
6:31 I will admit I was hyped, but they committed 2 grave sins with Fallout 4; 1. The removal of skills, and 2. 4 dialogue options. Those on their own drop this waaaaay down to a 4/10 for me. You can't tell a story with only 4 options that all do the same thing with slightly different levels of snark, and an RPG without skills is like a construction company that only owns a jackhammer.

FYI there us no actual ultrawide support in this update, the uis are broken and everything was just stretched. They did the BARE MINIMUM to look like it but it's just 16 9 stretched into 21 9

If you boot up through geforce experience, it forces actual 21:9, the UI is a little messy here and there but it looks and feels fine to play

The update ruined my performance on Xbox. One of the new quests is totally broken. Wish I had pictures or video to share, but there were giant red exclamation marks all over the place. The new weapons are all invisible, and at one point there was a guy shooting red exclamation marks at me form an invisible gun. Good times.

When I loaded in after the update most of my mods were completely gone from my library
Just make sure all mods that require the script extender are disabled, make a collection for your current load order tho so u can reapply it once script extender gets updated

I think out of the dozens of mentions of this series and this exact game, this is the most concise and considered synopsis you've given about the fallout 4 experience. Personally I feel the exact same way, it's about a step up from some Borderlands game but not quite a Witcher 3 or even much of an RPG

Nah, they were never intended to release the mod in the promised date. They just blame Bethesda for it
Since this update was announced, we told the team that they should make London only available for the GOG version, so in that way, we can skip the update. Also, the Vortex mod manager has a trick to fool steam to think the last update is installed, but the team never said a shit.

@@Rangure02 Fallout: London requires F4SE, which circumvents steams update anyways (If you aren't a total dipshit you'd have set steam to update only on game launch years ago, since if you launch FO4 through F4SE steam doesn't detect it as launched). The FO4: London devs are just full of shit, they even said a while back that they wouldn't be porting the mod to Next Gen before.

i'm gonna say it fallout 76 added alot of improvements to movement and gameplay.
one of the main advantages of having a pirated version of the game on hand is that you don't have to deal with mods breaking if you don't care that much about the most recent updates.
The first time they talked about this patch... they talked about something NEXT GEN (ENHANCED), and that was right after the witcher 3 did the same thing... everyone thought it would be a total increase... better graphics...bug fixes, stability, etc, etc! Without any information for months and months, some began to think that the update might not be released... with the insistence of fans for more information, Bethesda announced that it would come after the release of the series on Amazon and made everyone feel relieved and more excited again. Even because it took more than 1 year to do this upgrade, everyone thought it would be something big! The truth is the opposite! Bethesda not only didn't improve but also fucked up a lot of things, which after the whole fallout 76 case and criticism of starfild, it's amazing how nothing changes and they continue to be liars and disrespectful! Fallout 4 had NO GRAPHIC IMPROVEMENTS! What they did was increase the resolution and fps in the console version! If you played on PS4 or Xbox One and are now on PS5/Series X, you will see an improvement in image quality... but IT IS NOT A GRAPHIC IMPROVEMENT! Ray tracing, mechanics and content graphical improvement is what Cdprojectred did with the witcher 3! ON PC you have an eternal bug that when running at more than 60 fps the physics of the game is broken THEY DIDN'T FIX THAT! There is a graphics option linked to the Nvidia GameWorks graphics library that can be activated in the game to improve bullet fragments and impacts (and it looks much better) but for years activating it means crashes and crashes.. you run the game for a few minutes and it will always crash and in more than 1 YEAR of ""working"", THEY DIDN'T FIX IT! To make matters worse... the patch broke many mods, many mods are simply completely unstable! all thath for what???? Better graphics? NO! Improved mechanics? NO! Improved gameplay? NO! For bug fixes that have plagued users for years, especially on PCs? NO! So why did we have this patch that is a disgrace for the modding community, and it didn't improve anything??? MONEY !
uninstall and move on until mods are updated or simply don't play it, like a normal human being would, instead of typing an incoherent essay that no one will ever read. jesus, dude

The thing here, is that BGS took a game that is well past it's end of support and hasn't seen an official update since maybe 2017? (could be wrong) And decided to make very minimal changes that break the game for people that have been tweaking their load order for years now, hell, I'm sure that there's people that have been playing the same character for years who likely, cannot do so after this update unless they knew how to prevent the update, or know how to revert it.
There is nothing "abnormal" about being upset that something you loved/enjoyed and could consistently rely on is broken or taken away, I would too, be upset, if I hadn't prevented the update and the 3 years I spent on my load order was basically destroyed (remember, a lot of the OG modders no longer maintain/create mods so a good number of them will have to be let go if we wish to use the new update). There's no need to insinuate that this person isn't "normal", its harsh and entirely unnecessary.

I actually always loved fallout 4. It doesnt have some of the awesome rpg elements nv has, but its an easy game to get lost in. And the ps5 version is super smooth.
Over the years its become harder to keep my pc up to date, so ive slowly moved to console gaming. Playstation gets shafted in the mod department, so an update like this really goes a long way. Ive been having a blast back in the commonwealth. Ad victoriam!
P.s. The load times on the ps5 are epic. Less than 10 second load times is soooooo good compared to a minute or two. Also crazy how good the game looks on the ps portal. Modders are pissed ha, but things will get fixed. In the words of Walter in the Big Lebowski - "Nothing is fucked here, Dude."

3. give us the ability to skip kellog's memories, its a buggy ass sequence that should be skippable

5. let us scrap rubble in settlements without breaking precombines
6. let us repair scrapped houses at our settlements without breaking precombines
The free CC content isn't version dependent. This means you can update and roll back without losing that sweet new mod dlc. You can have all your mods and the new content.

Your 4090 is chugging at 20-30% load. So, you're entirely CPU bound. Frametimes also look horrendous, so I'm guessing one of the mods you're using is bricking the engine hard.

To be honest, this update only truly benefits the PS5, wich was the only platform stuck in 30 fps. On Xbox all that thing does is force me to put the game on the already cramped internal storage unit when until yesterday the game ran fine from an external mechanical HD. On PC, it only serves the purpose of breaking people's mods. The "extra content" hardly makes up for all the mods from the last 9 years.
My understanding is that the update is pretty much worthless.
Only worthless for pc players. Good for consoles and to a lesser extent steam deck users who don’t want to take extra steps to mod

My point is that the comments in this video are clearly suggesting anger at the product we’ve been given, at least on PC. My question to these people is why they ever thought that it would be a good idea to embrace an update that would completely annihilate their load order and conflict with their graphical mods. It’s like they asked for pain only to prove that Bethesda hurt them. It’s a weird rage baiting cycle that’s gross and performative, and this kind of behavior has persisted ever since fo76
As for the getting mad at console players part, I can guarantee you that someone along the lines of this comment section is going to say “I’m having fun on PS5!” And someone will reply “stop shilling for a corporation”. That’s how it always is with gamers now. Shit sucks. Hell I’ll even point you into the direction of one if I find it
I expected a next gen update to look, you know, *next gen*. This looks the same as before. Worse if you compare to graphics enhancing mods. But given that Bethesda made it I probably shouldn't have expected anything noteworthy in that regard. Also, stop calling twitter "X." It's cringy as hell.

They made some of the coolest games that are also some of the worst games. Bethesda is like a perfect coffee but you used red bull instead of water and poured the coffee into a sock.
Also someone that also has a RTX4090 the performance is just awful without mods I actually thought they would add ray tracing or something but we get nothing
It’s a nice gesture they released an update for such an old game. Especially, for console players. But at the same time, this was such a minor update. Why was it hyped so much? Also, why did wait almost 2 years to release it, when all they did was repackage CC content and enable PC settings on console?
Unfortunately, one of the biggest things they didn't fix is the weapon debris bug. The Game still crashes because of it. Bummer
not really though. NVIDIA created that feature by the way, & its not broken... unless.... someone was fooled into buying an overpriced RTX card 😂
This update fucked up the mods on xbox. Some people lost their load orders and the game sometimes won't even let you download mods.

Lost my load order and completely removed them from my library lmao I gotta try to remember them all and search for them manually. Plus the mods menu randomly crashes to the main screen when looking through mods making this process much more tedious

It was novel the first time I beat the game and then afterwards I was like "This is literally the cheapest most annoying shit to squeeze playtime out of a Bethesda game since radiant quests."
So just went back to fallout 4 after the show, started modding, was having a good time and without knowing Todd was dropping a new update... Now there is no fun... Thanks Todd.
Man ill be in my 50s by 2035, thats way to long for a fallout game, remaster Fallout 1 and 2 while we wait for 5, Fallout fans will eat that up in a heart beat

@GTSN38 Going straight from the 30 fps ps4 version to the 60fps ps5 version is absolutely night and day. The resolution is why higher and a lot more crisp. I couldn't stand this game when it first came out but it's definitely a massive improvement.
@@GTSN38it's a massive improvement compared to what it was I tried it the day before and before the update and it's much better I think it could still be better but for consoles it's a great improvement. I also tried PC and it's slightly better looking but the update was really for console they should have been crystal clear about this and they should have worked with the modders more to make sure things didn't break although I've not seen any issues myself it seems like lots are.
@@SCBodyboarder83yep and even though I’m on Xbox so you could play 60 fps on fo4 for the last few years you had to lower the quality of the textures to do so. This is definitely an improvement for console and for the People who disagree they most likely don’t have a 1440p 120hz monitor so they can play everything at ultra settings 60fps
Literally took an hour of playing for the game to become 60fps
On PS5 it makes a big difference

It does and also on ps5 you can switch your ps5 system resolution output to 1440p and you can have the 60 fps and the quality mode graphic settings instead of dynamic 4K with standard settings and 60 fps

14:55 even if we count Fallout 76 it would still be 17 years!!! It's a crazy amount of time for a successfull franchise. The longest time between two Fallout games was between FNV (2010) and FO4 (2015) and I would even argue that it was only 4 years because most of the DLC of FNV was released in 2011...
6:31 I will admit I was hyped, but they committed 2 grave sins with Fallout 4; 1. The removal of skills, and 2. 4 dialogue options. Those on their own drop this waaaaay down to a 4/10 for me. You can't tell a story with only 4 options that all do the same thing with slightly different levels of snark, and an RPG without skills is like a construction company that only owns a jackhammer.
