@@OumarMohammed-ir9tr@OumarMohammed-ir9tr According to pre-orders, the base iPhone 16 sales have risen considerably, over 25%, and the Pro models have dropped in sales. This is not indicative of buyers caring about 120Hz, quite the contrary. Because 120Hz is only one part of many features that matter to the average user. Some people will not understand Apple's business model and will complain. However, if Apple had given 120Hz to the base iPhones, then even more people would have moved from the Pro, which would have been a disaster for profits, and shareholders would have wanted blood.
tbh for me the battery is a huge one on the 16 pro max expecially. This is probably the most honest review on the iPhone 16 series I have seen. I would have bought the basic 16 had they given it the 120Hz screen and the USB 3 port. I ain't paying that kind of money for 5 year old technology as far as screen and data port. The camera control button is too low for me as well, putting it on the top-right would have been better and more intuitive I think. I thought this would be the year I gave up my 7+, but going to wait another year and see what Apple comes up with.
Honestly, last year I was holding back on the iPhone 15 Pro because it did not seem like a well-rounded product to me: Running hot, short battery life, not having the fancy tele camera. I’m a diehard iPhone user ever since the first model and have upgraded every single year to a new model, I’m currently rocking the 15 Pro. What the iPhone 16 series release has shown me is that I need to switch over to Samsung and get the soon to be released Galaxy S25 Ultra. For many years Apple held back dark mode, USB-C and a laundry list of other things that have been common place on android for years before we got those things, these incremental upgrades Apple keeps doing every year are causing me to be very disappointed in Apple. I’m deep into the Apple echo system but I’m definitely going to break free as soon as the Galaxy S25 comes out. I totally despise the Dynamic Eyesore / Island and the camera button on the 16 models is totally stupid.
You'd be better getting a pixel 9 pro. Google is making the most improvements Samsung is copying apple so you'll soon feel the same way with that. I use to have a s24 and while I loved it I have a pixel 9 which is far better on every level including software

For those who are having any of the 14 or 15 lineup, there is no wow element that's word upgrading. Of course, if you have the money, you don't have to reason much about it. Just go ahead and buy it. After all, the thrill of having the latest iPhone always lingers around.
Coming from someone who has an iphone 15 pro max, you are missing out on absolutely nothing. Flagships aren’t worth it. Buy something cheap n functional.
I have had some flagship iphones, and let me tell you, you are missing nothing mate. Not worth the money, only reason i got last years flagship was because of usb c and the functionality i needed for work if not i would have kept my 11 pro.
i once owned a flagship phone , till i realize how big of a money waste it was after using it . its not even a good investment considering the fact how good mid range really is .
I'm upgrading from the iPhone 11 and I'm interested in 16 Pro Max because of the better screen, telephoto lens and Raw video format. To be fair, if you don't take photos, some mid-range Samsung like the A55 is more than enough. It has all the features except for the camera ones.

having 60hz screens on flagships in 2024 where 120hz is the default is not innovation, its called enshittification
It’s a deterrent to buy those lower budget phones. That’s why Apple purposely push you to spend more
I’m still holding to my 13pro and honestly , I would love to upgrade, but at a present moment , I just can’t reason with myself to do so . Nice review man, as always ✌🏻
Dave, appreciate your honesty! The kind of review we want!.Long-time viewer; keep it up, and thanks!
So disappointed with this years iPhones - no significant improvements at all. And yet they market it like they’ve done something incredible
dude the 60hz is sooooo annoying and the argument that the average person won’t notice is so crazy to me because the average person doesn’t notice the difference between A16 and A18 chip or the new ceramic shield they were gloating about, that is what yearly upgrade is all about adding features to make the average person life better in the long run even if they wouldn’t notice. this is not a cheap or budget phone by any means and i would actually argue a higher refresh rate is even more noticeable
That's called marketing. They can't say "we add nothing to our phones and charge it the same as last year's please buy it"
@@OumarMohammed-ir9tr@OumarMohammed-ir9tr According to pre-orders, the base iPhone 16 sales have risen considerably, over 25%, and the Pro models have dropped in sales.
And no, I'm not saying this to defend Apple, cuz most companies have been releasing incremental upgrades every year which is to be expected at this point in the slab smartphone genre. So a long lasting phone with great performance is kinda sweet for me.
@@OumarMohammed-ir9tr60hz would be more beneficial now, but the newer chip will make it qualify for more years of support
iPhone 16 pretty good? Dave, Dave, Dave... No AI, incremental camera update, 60 Hz, for 800 bucks. Androids costing 350 have more.
Androids costing 350 most certainly don’t have more. Maybe 120Hz but that with a slow processor and ad-infested OS 💀

Dave where are your new videos? You haven't posted in over a month!! 😕. You ok?

Since when do the Pro iPhones "usually" get vibrant colors? They never get that.
The 11 Pro had a dark green
The 12 Pro has dark blue
The 13 Pro had a bright but light blue and dark green
The 14 Pro had dark purple
The 15 Pro had an almost gray "blue"
They just never get vibrant colors...
At least there’s one, now there’s none 😢
There was always one colorful option. Now its only dark grey, white, grey and white that wants to be gold 😅

@@rizaS55 Spot on.
Sony had a dedicated camera button since 2014s… might not be the same functionality but the the dedicated camera click was still there.
Now this year all those issues have been resolved, so for me coming from the 12 generation it is a very appealing product.
I'm not gonna lie, I'm hyped to go back to the regular size Pro from a 15 Pro Max.

Great review Dave 2D. Honest reviews deserve a follow!
0:15 Apple Intelligence is what Apple is pushing, but i haven’t seen any consumers care.
When did apple care about consumers much? USB-C happened just because of EU laws eventhough it was highly requested change.
you could always look into it, there’s plenty of customer care/privacy features with apple intelligence
they haven’t gotten their hands on it. they’re not gonna care about something they can’t see yet. for tech enthusiasts, it’s really cool and is probably enough to justify the purchase beforehand.

Oh that's coming soon, or we'll deliver it later. Nope, if I intend to buy it just because it will have some nice feature that's not available on launch, I'll buy it when it's available.
But Apple being Apple, they really had to hype it early. I know they will keep their word, keep in mind that some of the features mentioned will not come to the EU

Android phones are better as phones. Better call screening, better dialing, better call history, etc.

Regarding gaming with super thin edges. Now that this is becoming a trend in phones maybe game developers should adjust and just build into their games to ignore inputs from the outside 2-3% of the screen. For those who are having any of the 14 or 15 lineup, there is no wow element that's word upgrading.

Coming from someone who has an iphone 15 pro max, you are missing out on absolutely nothing. Flagships aren’t worth it. Buy something cheap n functional.
