The 16 is my first Pro Max phone ever. I haven’t looked back. I’m in love. I’m a two handed phone user anyway so the size is not a concern for me. I still have the control center set to activate with the double back tap. It comes in handy.

Same with me. I've always used big phones, back when they used to be called phablets. Had the 14 Pro Max and got the 14 Pro and love it. Hi Brandon, should I trade in from regular 14 Pro with 87% bh from February 2023 to 16 Pro Max or wait for the 17 Pro Max? And if the 16, should I go for the 16 Pro or 16 Pro Max? I have large hands and want better battery life but the 12pm was too big for me for 1.5 years of use, but the 14 pro has much worse battery life and it's heavier for some reason but is more compact and convenient, but the keyboard size on the pro max is more convenient for me.
11 Pro max user, I do need the upgrade, I’m considering a 15PM, OR A 16Pro, unsure if the larger size of the PM this year is worth it. How’s the battery life comparing to an 11 Pro max ? Or a say newer phone like a 15 PM? Is the regular 16 Pro getting the same or better ? Any help would be advised .
You don’t really notice the size difference when coming from a older pro max phone ! However it primarily looks larger due to the extremely slim bezels, but as he stated it is a 0.2 inches taller. The battery life is also better on the 16PM compared to the 15PM, I believe it’s an extra 3-4 hours more than the 15PM. Apple stated “it’s the best battery life on an iPhone ever” and this is due to the larger size of the phone ! Go for the 16 PM !
I came from the iPhone 12 Pro Max and the iPhone 14 Pro Max down to the 16 pro and I'm absolutely loving it. Every time I pick up or handle a bigger sized phone from pixel Samsung or iPhone they always feel super big and hard to hold now being used to the smaller phone. I do use a lot more battery life and have to charge my phone consistently over 100% a day but it is a sacrifice I will take for this comfortable feel in my hand. I do not normally do one handed use like you do all of the time but even then it's still a lot better. Buying a MagSafe battery pack soon.
Switched to Pro after 4 years of pro maxes. No regrets. Its just so much more comfortable in the hand, and I feel like it's more secure in my hand, too.
Going Pro - comfortable size, easily to carry and hold. As most people in the Apple world, I have a plethora of chargers, both in my cars and throughout the house. For those rare instances and need longer battery life, I’ll use a transportable battery pack.
Regarding battery life, how much of a difference is there? Im on the 15pm, used to last me with heavier use to around 9pm, but after the updates it only gets to 7pm. Does the 16 pro last as long as the 15pm? Also for battery health, will the 16 pro degrade faster since it has a smaller battery?
@@ramanshwadhwa4366 yeah because it’s going through more cycles since it has a smaller battery. 12 PM ro 16 PM was worth the update:) mostly because i waited to get one because waited for dynamix island and the pro chips to be out for a few years:)
Im using a 14PM for awhile and wanted a 16PM this year now after watching your video I think I'm getting the 16PR instead. Also upgrading my Series 7 watch to Series 10. Great video.
Trading in my 13 pro max at 128gb for a white 16 pro with 512gb. I really like the colour contrast on it overall. The screen on 16 pro without the notch makes a huge difference for me and feels very satisfying when holding it. I spent most of my time working during the day, so the battery life on the pro is perfect for me.
Ordered both sizes to compare against my 15PM and decided to stick to the 15PM…. The 16PM hardly touched but enjoyed the 16pro 6.3”. Sadly I didn’t find a value in upgrading just yet. 15PM for the win the year
I’m more likely to keep my 15PM due to the size. I find it the perfect size and shape with awesome battery life, very hard to give up. Also I have mine in blue titanium which I love 💙
Went from 15 Pro Max to the 16 Pro. The battery life just wasn't worth the hand gymnastics anymore for me. My hands genuinely starting hurting at the end of the day. Lol. Loving the 16 Pro size this year!
I had the 13 pro max and upgraded to the 16 pro max. It’s pretty much exactly what I expected. A bigger screen and I’m already used to a bigger screen so I don’t feel much of a difference. Anything smaller I feel like I downgraded tbh
I went from a 14 pro max down to a 16 pro and the size is amazing. I do notice the slight battery size drop, but it's still worth the tradeoff of having a much more manageable device.

Me too! I’ve had either a Max or Plus ever since the 7 Plus, but this year I really wanted to get a smaller phone so I got the 16 Pro. I’m so glad I did. However, I was worried that the battery life wouldn’t be as great, but so far the Pro has been amazing!
I’ve heard a lot of reviewers say the 16 Pro doesn’t get hot. Mine gets hot every time I’m on a FaceTime call, especially over cellular. It feels just like my 15 Pro.
Just ordered my iPhone 16 pro and honestly I’m pleased with my decision. Preference is the variable at hand, I’ve had the smaller iPhone models the past 4 to 5 years so Initially I intended on going pro max to have a bigger phone this year. Next upgrade I’m definitely going bigger but I’m satisfied with my pro size for now. I will say after using a certain size for years you do crave a new experience I went from the bigger iPhone to smaller and I can say I do see how after years wanting to go back is what ppl prefer vice versa ‼️
Hi Brandon. Is there something different about the audio on this video because when I play this with my HomePod mini then it says something went wrong tap to retry but when I play it normally without the iPad mini it’s fine and I don’t have the problem with other videos on UA-cam, so do you think that there’s an issue with this audio and the HomePod mini?
I have used Plus or Pro Max iPhones for pretty much as long as they have been out, has 6 Plus, 8 Plus, 11 Pro Max, and 13 Pro Max. This is the year where Apple finally went too big for me. I didn’t get a 15 Pro Max because I didn’t like the overheating issues, but I did test one, and the form factor was IMO perfect. Slimmer and lighter than my 13 PM but the same size screen. Why Apple had to make the 16 PM taller I will never understand. The massive camera bump now makes the phone incredibly top heavy when using one-handed, and it always felt like I was going to drop it, and with a case it is just massive. So, I also went with the 16 Pro, there is very little compromise, and the screen size is as close to the IMO perfect size of the 11 PM (6.5) as we may ever get again.
That's why I stuck with iPhone 15 Pro Max. It is the middle ground now. Honestly, that is an excellent idea to have to play with both models. I will do that repeatedly next year with new tech hardware products from any company. Just buy both sizes and return the most inconvenient one.
Came to same conclusion when testing out at the store. But I’ll be replacing my 14pm to 17p next year. That new size is the compromise for my usage. Except for reading ebooks.
I’m going the opposite direction; after dailying a 6, 7, XS, 12 Pro, and 14 Pro, I’m going 16 Pro Max for the very first time. Hopefully I can train my hands to be Olympic-level gymnasts
I wish I would have waited. I wanted the new iPhone for launch day. Went from my cozy iPhone 15 plus to the iPhone 16 pro max. Love the battery and screen but yeah at times I feel like it really hurts my hands. Kind of stuck with it now :(
Off topic, I recently turned off ALL new features on my 15 Pro max because of battery life. I feel like 18.1 is to iOS what Vista was to Windows. NT was great and so was W2K, but iOS 18.1 It’s so bloaty and overly complicated. I don’t even use 120 Hz refresh rate because I can’t tell the difference. I honestly should have kept my 11 Pro Max. Apple AI isn’t even totally here and it just seems really cumbersome. I spend a lot of time watching videos like yours and searching Reddit forums to figure out how to do something that ought to be intuitive-the way Apple used to make things. It used to , “just work”. That’s what made it magical.
I said to my brother last year that they should make the pro phones 6.3 inches and then they did it! I upgraded to the 16 pro in white of course….because I find white very easy to live with-I never get sick of my white phone. Pro Max for me is just too big and cumbersome. I like clear cases-I never want to cover up the beauty of the back of my iPhone. I’m a fan of Casemate clear cases and screen protectors are always a must. The heavier weight of the pro max would not be for me.
I also dropped my black 16 pro max from about a foot up a week into having it and i got super unlucky and it scratched off the paint on basically the entire bottom edge. Now hear me out… I covered the marks with black nail polish. Sounds crazy but it’s just like new, can hardly tell unless you catch it in the light the wrong way haha
I had the 15 pro max for the 5x camera, but I found it too uncomfortable in my hand and had to use reachability a lot, so when I heard the 16 pro max was even taller, I knew I’d be switching to the pro. Still getting used to the smaller keyboard again, but I like the size a lot better overall.
I knew after they announced this years pro max was bigger, I would be officially downsizing to the regular pro max. Giving them feature parody actually makes this the best regular sized pro they’ve ever released.
After going to the 16 Pro after using the Max models for years, it's such an interesting trade off. I love being able to use my phone one handed again, but now I have charge anxiety since the battery capacity is pretty noticeable for me.
I went from a 14 pro max to a 16 pro max and boy are the bezels slim! Going back to my 14 pro max and noticing the bezels is kinda jarring. The only thing I miss about my 14 pro max is the deep purple! Boy is that a stunning color. Going from purple to desert feels like a color downgrade haha.
I've always found the Max/Plus models too big to comfortably and conveniently handle. And from an aesthetic point of view, I found them obnoxiously big.
I have both 16 Pro and 16 PM, my esim is on my 16 pro for personal, I make a side hustle landscape photography using my 16 Pro Max along side my camera which doesn’t have esim and will probably never, if was going to keep only one it would be the 6.3 16 pro, so compact, powerful and this year battery is just great and won’t get hot like my previous 15Pros
My birthday was saturday so my parents upgraded their phones, my grandmas phone, and mine to the pros/pro maxes. i got a pro max cause my dad was like “wtvr it’ll last longer battery-wise🤷” , and as a teen, i have to use 2 hands and it’s lowkey annoying lol, i guess the battery makes it worth it tho!! but at the same time, i literally dropped it face down (with the screen protector ofc) bc it didn’t fit in my pocket 😭
I got the pro max here too. I personally prefer it over the pro because I find the larger form factor a lot more comfortable, especially when typing. While I do agree that the pro is way better for one-handed usage, the pro max just feels way better for me. Btw, I find myself dropping this phone 100x less often than my older iPhone 14. Probably cuz I find myself dropping larger stuff way less frequently than smaller objects.
Really helpful video, thank you. I’ve chosen the 16 pro and am currently on the 13 pro max. Chose the 16 pro over the max after looking at them both in store. The max was just a bit too big imo and not necessary due to having the same features. Seems like I’ve definitely made the right decision.
Love the pro max this year… I do prefer the larger screen size. Such a big difference. Maybe a bit of an adjustment, but I think it was rather easy to get used to.
Indeed, i had iphone 14 pro max and I decided to switch to 16 pro only because it’s much more comfortable on hands at the same time the size is just right not too small not too big. 👌
Coming from the 14 pro max to the 16 pro max I can’t say I see much of a huge difference. I highly doubt 3 yrs from now much will change still but we will see
This was another helpful video. THANKS! I usually purchase a new iPhone every three years and this Jan it’s time to replace my iPhone 13. I always purchased the basic “13” and have never purchased the Pro/Pro Max. This time around I planned on moving up and I was uncertain whether to go all the way up to the Max or just to the Pro. This help tremendously helped. iPhone 16 Pro is will be. Thanks again. 👍🏻 👍🏻
I don't even like the weight and size of my 15 Pro, and if there was a 15/16 mini, I wouldn't hesitate to get it. I hate the weight and size of my 15 Pro after the old SE 1st gen. Never got used to it.
It seems like a lot more people are rocking with the pro vs the max this year. I myself will go from a 14pro max to the 16pro. The weigh difference alone is enough of a reason to down size. I don’t think you lose anything going from a 6.9 to 6.3 in terms of a better watching or viewing experience and I think that the ease of use from the pro is A better comprise. Also when did 6.3 phones become “small” .😅
Nice video! TORRAS is good but I could only find one case for the iPhone 16 normal so I prefer the ESR ones for the look since I’d rather have the 16 normal
Only time my iPhone 16 pro gets hot when I’m on FaceTime for 2 hours lol and that’s when I have to charge my phone more. But I am so happy I got this phone. Way better than my iPhone 15 pro max.
gona upgrade to 16pro coming from 13pm. if my lil brother did not need a phone id keep this till atleast till next year. 13pm is the best smart phone i ever had
Few people pick their iphone because of the size. If the pro had better battery life. I would go with the pro. The max has better battery. So I go with the max. This is the majority factor determining which phone people pick.
I always use 2 hands and I have bigger hands anyway. I’m a 6’ tall woman. I have the 14 ProMax and I would get the 16 ProMax because I like having the bigger screen.

I have the 14 pro but am thinking of goin to 16 pro max. I’ve just wanted to try having a bigger phone. I’m wondering if it’s worth the move.
I’ve heard a lot of reviewers say the 16 Pro doesn’t get hot. Mine gets hot every time I’m on a FaceTime call, especially over cellular. It feels just like my 15 Pro.
4:55 so we modeling pants now, new clothes channel?😂😂
Just ordered my iPhone 16 pro and honestly I’m pleased with my decision. Preference is the variable at hand, I’ve had the smaller iPhone models the past 4 to 5 years so Initially I intended on going pro max to have a bigger phone this year. Next upgrade I’m definitely going bigger but I’m satisfied with my pro size for now. I will say after using a certain size for years you do crave a new experience I went from the bigger iPhone to smaller and I can say I do see how after years wanting to go back is what ppl prefer vice versa ‼️
How does the size compare to the S24 Ultra?
thanks for the great video... i'm going for the 16pro too based on your experiences
When you get to 70+ years old like me, you will definitely go with the Pro Max.
Why?
@@joaoroman9583your eyesight gets worse with age so a bigger screen is better for you
@@ELFA-y7z I would say that the font size matters, not the size of the display
@@joaoroman9583 Easier to see, requires less dexterity. Pretty basic stuff. You will find out someday, trust me.
I had the 13 pro max & was already itching to size down. Switched to 16 pro & loving the size.
Did the same. Always bought the max but this year I got the pro instead . The max was just too big for me. Couldn't be more happy.
I wish I would have waited. I wanted the new iPhone for launch day. Went from my cozy iPhone 15 plus to the iPhone 16 pro max. Love the battery and screen but yeah at times I feel like it really hurts my hands. Kind of stuck with it now :(
I will be the odd one out, I love a big phone .
I have mastered the hand gymnastics.
Bro I have 15 plus battery life is not so good should I switch to 16 pro
You can just replace the battery.
If I was getting a phone this year I’d get the Pro, 6.3” is the perfect size with those tiny bezels.
Do you still have time to return it for a full refund after keeping it for 25 days??? 🤔🤷🏻♀️
Do you have know any good privacy screen protectors for the iPhone 16 Pro Max that don't leave fingerprints?
Does using the Apple 5 W charger extend the battery health?
No throw that shit away
After going to the 16 Pro after using the Max models for years, it's such an interesting trade off. I love being able to use my phone one handed again, but now I have charge anxiety since the battery capacity is pretty noticeable for me.
I went from a 14 pro max to a 16 pro max and boy are the bezels slim! Going back to my 14 pro max and noticing the bezels is kinda jarring. The only thing I miss about my 14 pro max is the deep purple! Boy is that a stunning color. Going from purple to desert feels like a color downgrade haha.
I will stick with the 16 Pro Max because of its large screen size and slim bezels. Thanks for this video!
I've always found the Max/Plus models too big to comfortably and conveniently handle. And from an aesthetic point of view, I found them obnoxiously big.
“Is that an iPhone in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?” 😅
I have both 16 Pro and 16 PM, my esim is on my 16 pro for personal, I make a side hustle landscape photography using my 16 Pro Max along side my camera which doesn’t have esim and will probably never, if was going to keep only one it would be the 6.3 16 pro, so compact, powerful and this year battery is just great and won’t get hot like my previous 15Pros
I always just get the biggest screen available. I have big hands and don’t like a device that’s smaller than 6.7”.
I highly doubt 3 yrs from now much will change still but we will see
I like your videos bro. But I always go for the bigger size pause. I just like the bigger screen. 🤷🏻♂️
Yep that’s always reason to go pro max!
$100 more for the larger screen is a no brainer. Love the ProMax.
Coming from a 8 plus, the 16 pro max will definitely be a noticeable upgrade
Usually every year I go for the pro max but this year I chose the 16 pro with no regrets.
mate people are having a difficult time choosing between the 16s and pros let alone only the pro versions, their are barely a margin this time.
Great choice, i did the same thing this year. I couldn’t deal with the pro max this year.
Sadly, I find that even the 16 Pro is barely usable with one hand, and it's super heavy. I can't imagine using the Pro Max, but that's just me.
Really looking forward to adding my control center to the action button.
Meanwhile my 13mini has the perfect fit for me… a pro in the mini size… the dream…
I always use 2 hands and I have bigger hands anyway. I’m a 6’ tall woman. I have the 14 ProMax and I would get the 16 ProMax because I like having the bigger screen.
Gaming with subway surfers 😂 any recent iPhone has no thermal issue
This video helped me make my decision. Thanks You!
