🤗 I'm beginning a supper club based in NY, creating Vegan Palestinian and South American blended foods. I'm a first generation Palestinian, Venezuelan, and Ecuadorian artist and documentarian with a great love for food.
My mother grew up in Palestine before there was Israel. She said watched the locals who grew, threshed and ground their own wheat in the town. She also watched women make vats of labneh balls and store them in olive oil. My grandmother said the different faiths all lived in peace together, going to each other's family gatherings. Stark difference to the way it is today.

There's this salad made of Cucumbers, Tomatoes, and Onions known as a Shirazi Salad. I told a Jewish buddy of mine about it; his response was he's always known it as "Israeli Salad". (Note: there was absolutely no Israel when tomatoes and cucumbers were introduced from the Americas to the 'Old World'.) I thought, Damn, Israel's even appropriating the menu!
What you say is true. I am a Persian from Shiraz, and this salad is originated in my region. Even the variety of cucumber used for this salad is called "Persian cucumber", which is very small and more tasty and fragrant compared to other varieties.

I make it at home, too, except I sometimes used Apple Cider vinegar instead of lemon juice. I'll try it with the Persian cucumbers, though they won't be easy to find here in Louisiana. Mersi. Let me say something and give you an example. If you were a Native American and your land was being taken from you by the English, Spanish, French, and the Portuguese; wouldn't you be mad? Wouldn't you be primarily mad at the whites(Europeans). So if you were Palestinian and your land is being taken from Israeli's, wouldn't you be mad at the jews? I would be mad at the person's background if they 're the main force taking from you!
Arab Jews have brought the same recipes to Israel after they were displaced. It‘s one thing for Polish or British Askenasim to claim it as their ancestors food, but we are talking about people who spent for countless generations among Arabs. Instead of erasing this cultural and historical aspect of Jews, how about we agree on the fact that our people like to eat the same incredible dishes?
Over 2 million Israeli citizens are arabs and these foods are theirs. Israeli restaurants serve these foods because they come from this region of the world.
In Los Angeles, I loved this Armenian Lebanese Restaurant with this delicious Walnut spread. Great Kebabs. I grew up in Hollywood. This guy made this Rose Water and served you Hummus and Pita with the Walnut Spread. One of my all-time favorite restaurants.

I feel like my family has totally adaped to the countries they fled to and lost much of palistanian heritage in the process. I am half palestinian, with a german and jordan passport and I dont even speak arabic. When my ad cooks he makes jordanian dishes. I know nothing about palestine except what I found on the internet and very biased and political views from my family (whithout them telling me about culture)

Remember, except for Palestine there are also: Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Yemen, Egypt. Jews escaped from these lands and carried with them also the right to use all the food cooked in these lands, a big part of which is like the Palestinian food.
As a Palestinian I get very sad when I see Israeli produce.. I want to try the produce because it’s from the land and trees of my ancestors but at the same time I can’t try them because I can’t be supporting Israeli products. Free Palestine
