  • In this video, I am taking a look at the Glock 27. This is a powerful concealed carry choice that has been proven to be very dependable and reliable. Although I do not enjoy shooting the 40 S&W caliber, I know that it can be a great choice for concealed or everyday carry. Please join me in the comment section below. The 27 was my first CC weapon. When California finally got the M&P Shields, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. No matter how much I shot it and tried to like it, the 27 just works better for me in every respect. I really don't like shooting the Shields.

    Great video Jarhead. I own both the 26 and 27. And yes, the 27 is a little snappy. But I prefer carrying it as my EDC. I strongly recommend range time. After a couple of trips, I was used to the extra snappiness compared to my 26. Both are outstanding choices for conceal carry. OOH RAH from an old Corpsman. And thank you for your service.

    I have and carry the same gun. IMPD switched to 9mm and the gun shop by my apartment bought up a bunch of these. The clip comes with the one extra finger grip clip and 2 of the others. It’s perfect for a daily carry

  • @mkaz411

    My guess on the hiccup is related to the Pearce grip extension. If you're grip is to tight on it, you're forcing the mag slightly out of position. That's why I keep my Glocks (and magazines) stock.

    The past pinky grip is not bad the only problem is if you have to take it off it's really a pain in the neck I would go for you could buy them separate or you could buy the whole magazine it's called The factory Glock mag plus one comes with a pinky grip and an extra shot so you have a total of 10 shots in each magazine plus one in a chamber gives you 11 rounds of 40 S&W you can't beat that 💯👍😄

    I love my gen3 27 . THE PITBULL OF HANDGUNS. LOVE IT nothing bad 2 say. 10rds of 180gr .40cal What's NOT 2 LUV. 100% MY EDC. Hardened Chrome finished barrel, GLOCK MH3 night sights, tungsten comp duel recoil spring, chrome extended slide release, spartan back plate, and very little stipple work 👍. also THE GLOCK MH3 NIGHT SIGHTS ARE 100% EXCELLENT and in low-light levels and that's just my OPINION . They r really MEPRO TRU-GLO NIGHT SIGHTS. We are all entitled to our own incorrect opinions. It's all about preference. GLOCK PERFECTION 🙊🙉🙈.

    40 was my first handgun at 16 first time I sorta shot one with help as I was 7 but 40 is a tried and true round you just gotta practice control of your grip muzzle and recoil to ensure you get on target i suggest maybe practice with cheap ammo with at least nearly the grain of your carry ammo till you feel you get in good practice with it no matter what gun or how big train enough and you’ll get better

    The g26 & 27 are great carry guns but I prefer the 33 in 357 sig. I use the vedder light tuck IWB holster and I find this to be a great carry conceal for me. Glocks grow on you the more into shooting and self defense you get I think. I've got a 26 thinking maybe get a 27 for the more power not sure. I live the 26 fav pistol shoots like a full size to me

    • @OldPackMule
      @OldPackMule 7 років тому +3

      Gator the 27 has a fair amount of muzzle flip and recoil compared to the 26 and it holds fewer rounds in a standard mag. It's the kind of firearm you need to practice a fair amount to get used to putting it back on target.

    • @Jarhead6
      @Jarhead6  7 років тому +3

      +Gator I am a fan of staying with the same caliber man. So If I would have a G26 I would go for a 19 or 17. So I can use the same magazines, have more fire power, etc.

    • @9unslin9er
      @9unslin9er 7 років тому +3

      The G26/27/33 has a 3.5" barrel which, when you account for the 0.5" actual cartridge length, means you only have 3" of rifling to stabilize the bullet.
      Which means...if your bullet moves really REALLY quickly, you are just burning gunpowder and wasting energy.
      The G33 (.357 SIG) is a complete waste of brass/gunpowder.
      The G26, less so but still inefficient.
      .40 S&W (aka Big and Slow) wins for accuracy out of a compact pistol.

    I researched top CC guns and decided on this gun .It is my first gun .I went to try it out and shoot it .I damaged my elbow firing 50-60 plus rounds at the range. The 2 inch barrel and the 10mm 40cal shell really put a lot of force into my arm. This gun is loud and very powerful. Not for a newb like me. Almost a year later my arm is still damaged at the elbow from the repeated force. I may not have been shooting it correctly either. Just a heads up from a newb. Thanks for the great videos congrads of the highly successful channel.

    i did something that i thought i would never do. I am carrying a gun with no track record and put it into service on Monday after putting 400 rounds and no problems. It is a CZ p10c. I am slowing changing that assumption. You need to challenge assumption now and again. The major manufacture that produce reliable guns ,,, I think they have solved the problem of new designs failing. Looking forward to the subcompact release next year.

You can carry the lighter self defense loads with less recoil and hit center mass 99% of the time at 10 to 15 yards , even 20 with practice. K ps a good set of sights a definitely a plus .

    If you like 40, go for it. But I prefer the 9mm. I carried the G19 for a while as my carry pistol and for fighting. Good 9mm can match .40 as a carry fighting round but with slightly more capacity and less felt recoil. It's also cheaper than 40 to train with and actually is less stressful to the frame of the Glock since they weren't designed to handle a .40's particular recoil

    JH: I didn't realize you didn't like .40 Cal until a couple months ago. Back in the 1990's I would never hear that someone hated a .40, maybe I lived under a rock during that decade. The .40 was praised all during the 1990's up through about 2010 when opinions changed due to the improved 9mm performance. The "Wonder Nine" has once again taken the throne in the caliber kingdom. I am a .40 and 10mm fan, but I don't hate 9mm....I own two myself (M&P and 92FS). The .40 may one day gain popularity among the civilian masses, who knows. I see the trend of moving back to 9 after the FBI announced they would. Even many police departments are dumping their .40 to go with 9mm. The .40 is still King in the LE world, but that is slowly changing. I love this model 27. I own the model 29 in 10mm, which is essentially the same pistol in size and weight. One day I will add a 27, 22, and 23 to my collection. So I was thinking....video request from me....please do a compare and contrast video on .40 and 9mm...all your opinions and view on both caliber. I also enjoy your opinions. Thanks Patrick.

    Having thousands of rounds over the last decade+ thru my H&K p2000 and Glock 23 I have found the .40 to be a great round, but I am extremely happy we went to 9mm just for the fact it’s a softer shooter then the .40 and we shoot a lot more then most agencies. But off duty I still carry a .40 god forbid I need it the .40 is in my opinion a superior round. But for shooting a lot the hand cannon is not very comfortable.

      because thewy moved back to the 9mm so everyone is sheep and going to follow behind. i guess cause ammunition is getting better u dont really need a 40 when u can have less recoil. i own 3 glock .40 caliber pistols and love them all! but either one u choose is good.

      Thee Omen, the reason people hate Glock is because there are people that act is if Glock is the only gun out there and that just isnit true. I own a G34 and love it, but I am just as happy with my S&Ws, HK's, Beretta, Khar etc. If it's the right gun for you, great but for me there are other choises just as good and better.

    Don't Dis that cheap little $15 Glock holster. It's my favorite. Worn OWB with belt on outside of it, it holds gun close and comfortable. With a t shirt over it it is conceled enough for Walmart shopping, hehe. Almost 3 years of daily wear and the holster still looks new.
    Like most, I have a box of holsters, around 18 or 20. I bet I've got almost $1000 bucks invested in that box. Now I use that crappy looking little $15 dollar holster. :)

    Glock 27 is actually not to bad on recoil its not much of difference than the 9mm in my opinion idk y people complain so much about it and i was impressed at the accuracy on the lil thing...also u can pocket carry with out a hoslter with a baggy pair of shorts/pants and a belt...all around perfect conceal carry

      I have a Walther PPS in 40 and recoil is not bad if light bullet is used for EDC/CCW . I use a Barnes 140 TAC-XPD load.www.barnesbullets.com/ammunition/tac-xpd/ I am considering a Glock 27 in 40.

    • @pauls3880
      @pauls3880 5 років тому +1

      They complain because they are pussies!!!!, the .40 S&W in the Glock 27 isn't that much more recoil specially if your shooting 9mm +P's in the Glock 26. So they need to grow a pair and man-up. The .40 S&W is more Versatile anyways, you can shoot bullet weights of 135gr, 140gr, 150gr, 155gr, 165gr and 180gr and some 200gr. The sweet spot for the .40S&W is the 165gr bullet weights because you get speed and weight = Good penetration around 1092fps from the G-27..... The .40 S&W bullet diameter is .400 which is a MUCH better Bullet coefficient than the 9mm .355 diameter. I am a Ballistic Specialist for a Bail Enforcement Team. I myself load my Glock 27 with 180gr projectiles either Winchester Ranger bonded or 180gr Speer Gold Dot neither will fail you.

    You couldn't give me a G27. I have a G26 with G19 and G17 mags with XGrips. That little extended magazine in this video sucks. I have a fuller grip and a minimum of 16 rounds loaded. I also have a G20. The G27 is too small and snappy with .40 S&W. If I want to shoot .40 S&W, I'll put them in the G20.

  • @Renaldo135

    40sw is an acquired taste. I have had my G27 for years and got it because we switched over to the 40 sw back in 95 and I wanted the same caliber I carry on duty for off duty. My G27 is a third maybe even a second generation not sure. I shoot it well and it's powerful. I won't get rid of mine it's just too versatile. I prefer 10mm 45acp or 357 magnum but the 27 is a better carry option for concealed.
