    I love the Glock 27. It’s my favorite Glock. I don’t find the recoil to be a problem at all. I’ve owned the 26 also but I guess I am crazy lol. I just feel more confident with the harder hitting heavier round. It all comes down to shot placement and being comfortable with what you carry. I just feel like the 40 will always out perform the 9 especially when it comes to thick cloths and jackets

    • @DrownInLysergic
      @DrownInLysergic Рік тому +2

      Based on FBI testing with real shootings the 40 caliber was only marginally better at stopping somebody than a 9mm which is why the police quit using 40. They couldn't justify a snappier cartridge that took the same number of shots as a 9 to put somebody down. In reality, 40s&w is just 1mm bigger than 9mm, so it makes very little difference.

    • @Jim_Wilde
      @Jim_Wilde 6 місяців тому

      @@DrownInLysergic I think it's not true. 165 or 180-grain projectile with 1000-1100 fps, at least at 70%, has more power. The problem is, I've read reports from police where they fired 7 to 9 shots, and 70% missed the target, leaving only 3-4 hits. That's why they switched to 9mm, mainly because of the 15-18 round magazines and more accurate shooting under stress and challenging conditions. However, if you need to stop a close threat, 9mm absolutely sucks if it doesn't hit the spine or head. A big attacker will have time to squeeze you twice and if it's under drug thrice. Another reason for a hunt my backup is G20 in 10mm but somtimes I dont need to grab it and I wont go to the forest with 9mm either.

    What an excellent pistol. I have a buddy who owns one and let me fire it at the range last year, I couldn't miss! I was amazed by how gentle it acted for a submicro .40, was a delight to shoot, but I'm only 5' 7" so I don't typically like big snappy pistols, that must be why I liked his Glock 27 so much.
    But if you have girlie hands and next to no grip strength, there's always the good old .22LR.

    You can get a leo trade in of the 27 cheaper than the 26, and then get a 9mm conversion barrel and maybe a recoil spring and now you have one quality gun for cheap that lets you shoot two calibers. Add the magazine sleeve to put the longer mags in it and it is really comfortable.

      @Trumplican 4 роки тому

      @Tyler Collins well you do have a point there. Really though idk what's worse a misfire or having a round that can't even penetrate a man's skull. There are many police records of shootings with the 25acp where the person lived. There was one where a guy was shot in the head and it didn't penetrate the guy didn't even slow down. I believe this because we used to kill cows on the farm by shooting them in the skull with a 22 short. One day my uncle tried using his little 25acp I think it was a Jennings. Good thing I had the 22 with us because that 25 just left a flesh wound and scared the cow. Plain and simple NOBODY should trust a 25acp to save their life.

Obviously, there is a slight velocity reduction from American Eagle 165gr fmj in the Winchester but it is just so accurate. An upside of shooting the American Eagle 165 is that Federal 165 HST have same muzzle velocity and point of impact.

I believe it's the fact I tried a completely different sight whereas I'm used to 3 Dot with a wider front sight and not a "combat" styled sight. I like the sights but they're not good for me when it comes to accuracy at 25 yards shooting the 27. I forgot how hard that little pistol thumped.

    40cal isn't for everyone. Truth be told I hated it when I 1st got it. After breaking it in, I grew to looooove it and isn't as snappy as it was, even my 16yr old preffers my 40 over my 9s. Go figure.

    A fire arm like the 26 or 27 or smaller are not ment for competition shooting. They are obviously a backup last resort firearm. They dont need + anything "pinky" extensions that's why glock makes different sizes in every caliber. If you cant handle the "snapiness" of the 27 or the 40 cal for that matter the news flash buy a different caliber or size pistol. Or you should've joined the army.

    I agree with the many others; I am quite satisfied with mine. It goes bang every time and the bullets go wherever I point it. What more can you ask for? If I had any gripes it would be that it is a bit snappy and leaves me a bit high for recovery to the next shot. That is adjustable though by way of the many different "personal defense rounds" now being marketed.
    One thing though. Your statement "...I HATE this pistol." is wide open. What do you hate about it? the color? mag capacity? what? But whatever it may be, you are entitled to your opinions.

    Nothing wrong with not like it . Years ago the 27 was my first CCW the First time shooting I thought I've made a mistake, but I continued to practice mostly because I couldn't afford to buy another gun . Now 27 years later it's my go to gun . I've grown to love the harder shoot guns 10mm ,45 ,44 mag ect . The only gun I own that I hate to shoot is a S&W 380 bodygaurd.

    Just recently took some round files to a G27 gen 2.5. A trigger guard undercut makes it much more ergonomic and comfortable as does Pearce PG-2733 pinky extensions with the top lip shaved off to stop pinching. Also, a threaded G23 barrel gives 100 more fps to Underwood 200gr Hard Cast. All that, plus a 9/16-24 compensator gives faster follow-up shots against lions, and tigers, and bears, oh my! Woods carry ready!

    In a meatier compact or full sized pistol, I could see the use. But in a light Glock subcompact, ouch.
    I was shopping for my first centerfire handgun after Sandy Hook, and 40SW was about the only ammo on the shelf. 9mm, 38spl, 45aarp, all gone.

    I know I'm 3 years late on this video but I had to comment. The 27 chambered in 40 cal is a great cc pistol, especially for women or people with small hands. BUT!, there's a few things to consider. First is with the stock mag there's no place for a pinky and it has very little grip for your secondary hand placement. Also with everything being so compact it hits your hand fairly hard. I think it's harder than a Springfield XD 45 acp. Especially if you don't have an extended mag with grip extension. My wife runs the g27 in 40 with Hornady critical defense ammo with the xgrip extension on a 14 round mag and loves it. I prefer the g43 x mos in 357sig because I like having an a full size grip and still keep a good sized cc pistol. If you have fat fingers or large hands you might and probably won't enjoy shooting the 27. Especially if you're only using the small factory mags. But if youre only looking for something small and easy to conceal there is very few pistols that can hang with the g26 or 27.

  • @Jazzman-bj9fq
    @Jazzman-bj9fq 2 місяці тому

    Yeah I can imagine the 27 has significant recoil but I think it all depends on the grips that folks use. I like the modern grip that most of the afficionatos use, high and firm grip. I'll tell you though that grip works for a variety of pistols but some pistols when you use that grip aren't very nice to your hands. Something like a snappy medium to small gun you might wanna relax that grip some like for example if the gun that was closest to you in a pinch was the wife's 27. I have a Sig SP2022 in .40 cal and it's about the size of a Glock 19, about the same weight as well but it's a fairly nice shooter, not super snappy and I'm no pistolero by any means and I've even used that gun in concealed wear in the gun shop I used to work in.

    Personally, you and your spouse should be shooting the same caliber. If you're talking about survival situations, that's 1 less caliber to carry around and if both you and her have the same type of Glocks, you can share magazines. If you each carry different guns in the same caliber, that's one less thing in common but at least you got common ammo

    Not much to hate about the G27. I carry a G22 on duty and the G27 as a back up in a pancake or ISW for off duty EDC. I challenge the hater to find a better compact conceal carry gun. I trust .40 to put down a threat, I do not have that faith in .380. I was shot in the left shoulder by a .380 and was back to full duty in 10 days. If that was .40 it would have been a career ending wound. I find the recoil light compared to other compact EDC such as the Bodyguard .380. Your only valid point against the G27 is you personnaly hate it. As ppl who carry EDC it is critical that you carry something comfortable that you personaly like.
