Your locs are beautiful! I'm not very big on length but the fullness is everything. To everyone in the journey, remember that shrinkage, budding and locing has to come first and foremost, once all that is done, your hair will grow like crazy!
Same...I want micros, and, if my hair never grew past where hers was at 4 months, I'd be so content!🤗 Volume is everything. Even length without volume is, meh.😏😉
Yesterday I decided to loc my hair because I saw one of your old videos where you were showing your locs about 4 months in. I’m getting these size locs they are perfect 😍 I’ve been contemplating this for years and because of you I’m finally committed to starting this journey! I have one section done I’m so excited!! Thank you for sharing your journey with us 😊😊😊
Hey you’re a beautiful person; so open and friendly, I believe whatever you do in life, you’ll succeed. You’ve certainly inspired me to locs up again after nearly 20 years! Mine were previously down to my waist and looked after by a loctician. Now I’m going DIY. Wish me luck cos I’m lacking in patience (I’m dreading the 15+ hours it’ll take but prefer my hands in my head than anyone else, plus I have no money. 🤞🏼
Awww.. I am so proud of you!!! I love all your videos that I have seen. I really enjoyed your pro/con video collaboration to the point that i installed my hair within days. And yes, I love this update as well. Please, remember the children who need the IEP's to exist in the school system when you start working as a provider!
Congrats on all the wonderful updates. I stumbled on one of your videos a couple months ago and have binge watched the rest of your videos since. I actually started my own loc journey yesterday, and I'm so excited. Thanks for all the guidance. Of all the loc videos I've seen yours were the most informative and helpful for me.
I was here for the hair! I just found you before I start my loc journey... Your hair is EVERYTHING!!! Just Gorgeous! BUT I am so glad I stuck around for the rest! Congratulations on Medical School, Buying your home AND Getting MARRIED! Congratulations Dear! I am happy for all of your successes! Thank you for all the very useful information. It's much appreciated! Keep up the Great work! Take care!
Sis I have a background mostly things dismissed I truly did not do. Wrong place. I came to the US and went to school for my pilots licenses. Almost done but had to leave school. I now have a paralegal degree. But it’s difficult to get a job in my profession. I have a great job but want a profession. You are an awesome individual!! Doing great in life. I am going to continue watching you. I want to be happy and be able to be loved properly and be a great influence to other sisters in life. You started this video towards locs. And ended with why you are so happy and for me tonight reminded me of who i used to be. For my personal reasons I truly needed this. Keep doing great and thank you for this video. It reminded me of my goals. Happiness is contagious and yours rubbed off on me. Thank you!!! Keep going with your awesome accomplishments I appreciate you!! You are amazing!!
Thank you for sharing. One of my first retightening tools was also an altered craft needle. Your locs appear to be well cared for and I like the fullness. Congratulations on your life events and accomplishments.
Thank you for being so transparent about your loc journey. Your locks are AMAZINGLY beautiful! I'm about 2 weeks away from my 1 year DIY micros and you have inspired me! Congrats on being accepted into med school, purchasing your new home, and getting married. I've been a middle and high school teacher for over 20 years, so I can definitely identify with your middle school teaching experience. Teaching like medicine, is a service profession, where we significantly impact the lives of others. Continue to pursue your dreams, and your faith and passion will guide your success. All the best in all that you do. Please keep us posted on your loc journey! Peace & Blessings
Thank you so much! I definitely saw in my very short (1 year) teaching career how much impact I had on my students. I am excited for a life of service, and medical school is going well so far :)
Thank you for sharing your journey!!! Congratulations on all the wonderful and amazing things you have going on in your life 💖!! I'm proud of you! I just stumbled upon your channel after I just asked the universe to show me someone with the exact size microlocs I want to achieve (and I know results may vary but you know...a very close example) . I'm starting my journey in a couple of weeks doing the 2 strand twist and interlocking. I'm super excited!
I enjoyed your loc journey video. I watch these to send to my daughter. She's just started her loc journey and you provided a lot of information as well as entertainment. I stayed till the end of the video and was happy that I did. You have so much energy and drive with all the projects you had going on and you still managedto make your locs look fabulous. Congratulations on everything you achieved in the last two years. I hope it's not another two years before you return with another video. I've subscribed and clicked the notification just in case you go on hiatus again. 💙
OMG! I totally want to adopt you as a niece. Thank you for the updates! You are a phenomenal young lady and your future is very bright! Congratulations.
oh my God! I absolutely love you and have missed you and your hair a whole bunch! I have also wondered if you got into medical school. Congrats! For your journey in healthcare and for getting married, I wish your many blessings! whew! girl! you can do it all
Congrats on reaching the 2 year mark and all of your other accomplishments over the last year. I believe I saw posts on IG about med school and getting married, so I figured that's why you didn't have time for UA-cam. Good to see you back, and thanks for sharing updates on your hair and life.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful journey, my locs now look like your before pic and I was stressing about when will my loc transform and you showed me I’m well on my way to where it will be😍
Thank you for this video! It’s everything, you’re everything, your locs are everything❤️❤️ you’re just so beautiful! I’m 4 months in so this information is SO HELPFUL💗
Wow! What a year you had☺️! Congratulations on everything 🥳! I had to take a break from my channel too when I found out I was pregnant with my 4th, the morning sickness was SO bad😭! I enjoyed this video though👍🏿! Thanks for sharing ❤️!
your locs are beautiful sis! I was just watching your last video yesterday and I must say you inspired me to change my new loc journey to what I want my own hair to resemble . it seems no loctician I go to understands what I want for my hair to look like. I know no two journeys are the same but your size locs are the size Im going for. I have fine hair as I am a mixed black woman. thank you for the newest video and your hair looks amazing . you take good care of it and I hope my hair does just as well this time around. be blessed sis!
Congratulations on the nuptials, med school and the house! Sounds like we started as M1s and bought a house for school at the same time. 😉 Nothing feels better than that post exam feeling... except maybe getting married. Again, congrats!
Great informative video. I am still very unsure whether I want to do this. I have been natural for 6/7 years and recently my edges have started to fray a little. At the moment i decided to interlock one twist by my ear and see how it goes! It was a lot harder to interlock then I thought so that's food for thought for my hair.
I’m glad you’re back and making videos again you’re one of the people that inspire me to get locs even back then when you started that’s when the idea started getting in my head and now I’m almost 99% sure I want to get them just like you around 300 starting with twists! We have similar hair texture so I’m hoping for a similar result but I know the result can be different the most important thing is that I start. So thank you for sharing your journey with us ! ❤️❤️ And of course your locs are absolutely gorgeous
Your hair is more gorgeous than ever 😍 And congratulations on getting married once again. Your IG pics were just beautiful! I think your moisturizing schedule is slowing your locking process, which would explain the visible twist pattern and the fact that the texture stil feels soft and squishy. Once it locks it should be a bit more solid and certainly not as soft (which is okay since you don't mind the look and texture). Ideally if you were trying to make it mature faster you would want to wash more frequently, BUT lay off the conditioner and moisturizer since those products detangle and create slip. Regardless, it's still beautiful and will eventually lock some day. Actually, twists tend to lose their pattern just as quickly as interlocks; certainly much faster than braidlocs. As a rule of thumb - the less stable a pattern is (i.e., the less tight) the faster the pattern disappears.
Thank you! I figured the conditioners were slowing the process, but I am holding out hope that my *eventual* mature locs will not feel super wirey/dry, so I am okay with having a slower locking process. I may just be delaying the inevitable, and like you said, I will be okay with whatever texture they become. At this time, I'm just enjoying the process.
YOU'RE BAAAAACK! SHE'S BACKKKK! Gosh, I was soo worried. Day made! I have missed your voice and personality..welcome. I also haven’t braided and banded since month 5 and I have sisterlocks. I am like you, high porosity, washing once a week, and ain’t nobody got time for all that braiding lol. Plus it seems like because I am high porosity my hair has locked wayyyy faster than it would have had I kept braiding and banding. I’m almost a year in, I deep condition once a week, and love your tips on the leave in (it’s so dry here in CO) I personally have just been letting the bunching happen, my location knows I don’t braid and band and has done locs for years and insists the hair will smooth out over time. And the volume….GURL!!! 😍 it’s what I’ve love most since my hair is fine. Thanks for the tips on the leave in, the glycerin, and the trim (my hair grows super uneven) CONGRATULATIONS ON MED SCHOOL and marriage lol you busy 😅
Found you today and you uploaded a video today! So on time. I have a consultation for Microlocs vs. Sisterlocs next weekend and I think Microlocs will be for me. Welcome back and congratulations on your new start(s)!
I started with 538 and I currently have 283, because they felt too thin after wards. And I also do 2 point rotation‼ I am one year in already.. Thanks for the advice, I am encouraged by listening to you, I also started with twist patterns and I love them.
Is good to see that you're back and congratulations on the new house the new husband starting school being a teacher and I think that was all yeah congratulations and your hair looks marvelous
Love your videos! I’m starting my journey now….I think one of the reasons why you still have twist is because you wash frequently and use moisturizing products. Water slows down the loc process. But, because I low key want to keep my twist patter (fingers crossed) I’ll probably wash and moisturizer like you did.
When I rap my fly aways around the locs they belongs to the always come out after a couple hours. Ps love you locs I'm 1 year in January can't wait to stop braid and bond I'm looking forward to that.
I have 290 microlocs. I don’t like to do comparisons but I’m hoping eventually that my locs will look more like yours, which are perfection, based on density.
question i started twisting my hair my self before its too late is it a good idea? my roots are kind of loose because i just twist. I love the way your hair came out!
Hello beautiful ! Loved the video congratulations ! Would you recommend 2 pt rotation on someone with fine hair and traction aloepecia because there’s less tension on the roots and it can become bigger ?
Is it a must to have a loctician after a year spending with her for the retie? I wanna start my own retie but I’m just scared to not be able to maintain.
your locs are beautiful! how big are your parts? i’m getting microlocs soon but recently heard about how a small base/part can cause the loc to break as it gets longer due to the length and weight. do you have any insight on this? thanks!! 🖤
My parts are on the bigger side for Microlocs. Most range from 1/4-1/2 inch. They are 1/2 inch in areas where my hair is less dense and more fragile (around my hairline and on my sides) and 1/4inch where my hair is more dense/durable (in the middle and back). But I didn’t really set out to get those specific dimensions. Like I said I just felt for whether or not each loc felt like it had enough strands in it to feel sturdy and the parting size worked itself out. But I absolutely agree. Small parts with alot of hair in them are a recipe for breakage-its an issue some people run into with loc extensions.
Curious, it appears that the parts are wide or perhaps thinning, have you noticed that or experienced breakage? Your locs are beautiful and full. I really want sister locks but have had a bad time finding a loctitian in my area that I think I gel with. I have started considering microlocs but have not done a ton of research.
My parts always look like this when I have alot of new growth (they looked like this multiple weeks post retie even at the beginning of my loc journey). When I retie, the parts look much more narrow. I think it is an optical illusion. I have not experienced thinning or breakage to date.
Your locs are beautiful! I'm not very big on length but the fullness is everything. To everyone in the journey, remember that shrinkage, budding and locing has to come first and foremost, once all that is done, your hair will grow like crazy!
It's the volume for me.

Is it a must to have a loctician after a year spending with her for the retie? I wanna start my own retie but I’m just scared to not be able to maintain.
You give me hope, I am 5 days in and mine look a mess.
Lol keep at it. Today makes 3 weeks for me and it's frizzy but I'm sticking with it
Have grace with your hair, it needs time to settle ☺️
your locs are beautiful! how big are your parts? i’m getting microlocs soon but recently heard about how a small base/part can cause the loc to break as it gets longer due to the length and weight. do you have any insight on this? thanks!!
Is there a 3 year update coming?
Can you link the shampoo and conditioner?
Curious, it appears that the parts are wide or perhaps thinning, have you noticed that or experienced breakage? Your locs are beautiful and full. I really want sister locks but have had a bad time finding a loctitian in my area that I think I gel with. I have started considering microlocs but have not done a ton of research.
My parts always look like this when I have alot of new growth (they looked like this multiple weeks post retie even at the beginning of my loc journey). When I retie, the parts look much more narrow. I think it is an optical illusion. I have not experienced thinning or breakage to date.
How soon after locking your hair can you wash it ?
