  • Lennox Lewis was a three-time heavyweight world champion and the most recent heavyweight to hold all of the titles. Lewis first gained recognition after winning the Olympic gold medal when he beat Riddick Bowe in the 1988 finals. He began his ascent through the British rankings which saw him beat his domestic rival, Frank Bruno. As a champion, Lewis is best known for his victories over heavyweight legends like Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield and Vitali Klitschko. As well as defeating every heavyweight he ever faced and avenging his losses against Oliver McCall and Hasim Rahman. Today we take a look at Lewis's career and his journey in becoming one of the best heavyweights in history.

@@mickeythegent5144 Lewis destroys Fury. He's a way more complete boxing, quicker, more skilled and fought better guys. Fury doesn't have the one punch KO power to put down Lewis like McCall and Rahman did. Even Wilder, who is a trash boxer, was landing on Fury plenty. Just imagine what Lennox would do to him. Would either be a late KO/TKO or a unanimous decision. Even Cunningham and Pajkic dropped Fury

@@bodyediting8847 Lewis wins, but it's not a cake walk, as much as i dislike Fury - He's a very good fighter, 6ft9 275lbs, good skills, great stamina, great power of recovery, very elusive for his size, jab, head-movement, he's a formidable heavyweight, I'd say he's no worse than Vitaly Klitscko who gave Lewis one of his hardest nights (even though lewis was passed his best at that stage), But yeah.. When Fury is in the zone i think he's a handful for anyone.. though i do think Lewis beats him.

If Lewis was a couple years younger and in better shape/properly prepared, I don't think Vitaly would've won a round. Lewis at his worst and slowest struggled but still ripped vitalys face to ribbons, he also landed the more eye catching shots, Including the best punch of the fight which was the uppercut in round 5. Prime vs Prime Lewis beats up and kos Vitaly. Also.. compare their records and best wins. Vitalys resume doesn't even remotely come close. Vitalys best wins are guys like derek chisora and chris arreola, Lennox's best wins are guys like evander holyfeild, ray mercer, mike tyson, tommy morrison, david tua, razor rudduck.. Lennox Lewis thrived on the philosophy, the punch you don’t see is the one that hurts most that’s why he would block his opponents vision with his lead hand and crush them with a hook from the opposite hand. He got nailed and KO'd by Hasim Rahman and was lucky to survive the Klitschko bout (stopped because of Klitschko's cut). He then ducked the rematch with Klitschko and decided, instead, to retire. Lucky to be around when the heavyweight division was mediocre and Lewis was slighty above average.
