Lennox Lewis one of the best Heavyweights ever and the only British fighter ever in any weight in history to have 20+ plus fights in the USA and never lose one there. A travesty this guy has never been knighted.
He's not underrated by people who know the truth and what they're actually talking about. The Americans couldn't stand him being a Brit and him being better than any of their offerings.
Lennox was one of the most versatile fighters of all time. He could beat you in so many ways. A great all a-rounder. He could jab, he could counter, he could defend, and he could beat you with his feet. He was like a Honda motorcycle, not great at any particular thing, but good at everything, and very reliable. My personal all time great.
+Lynx Star Automotive (Gabe V) actually he used to put up some great combinations for a hw. He is my goat too (which can't be compared to a honda, the latter being too boring in comparison).
I looked at that fight live. Best knockout I have ever seen. He said he would rename him Hasbeen Rahman and he did just that. Rahman was getting a lot of fame after winning the first fight.
Agreed, and I also liked the beating he gave Golatta. I watched that live and the look on Andrew’s face after that first knock down is something that I’ll never forget.
On the second knockout, I love how Briggs is hitting him with loads of punches, then Lennox just smiles like he was being tickled, then goes to drop him
Yeah, that was a great moment. He scared and demoralized Briggs with that smile. I don;t think Briggs connected very solidly with his punches though. Most were avoided or glancing.
Yes, no-one had a winning record against him in his pro career. Should be much more highly rated in USA. Easily among the best heavyweights, with Ali, Louis, Marciano, Johnson, Foreman, Holmes, Dempsey., and clearly the best of the last few decades.
@@flavio7180 yeah, and the 2nd fight was much closer to a draw then the first and they gave Lennox a unanimous decision? Jill Conner Yeah I guess if they called the 2nd fight a draw people wouldn’t have reacted that angrily at the decision, although Lewis definitely won imo.

Concordo. Mas nas relações que fazem, dos melhores, ele não figura sequer como o vigésimo. Em minha opinião ele foi o melhor de todos. Ele Rock Marciano. Todos os outros, inclusive Ali, devem vir após ele. Simples assim.
I can see why Riddick Bowe was shitscared of Lewis and avoided him his entire career. Lewis handed him his ass in the Olympics and would have done the same as a pro. Bowe only won against Golota because of disqualifications and Lewis destroyed Golota in less than a round. Much respect for Holyfield who fought Lewis 2 times.

Onestly, Bruno was a tank, he had an incredible chin. Look at the punishment that he took against Lennox and Tyson: he was always staggered hard but he never fell. True warrior
Bruno really didn't lack for bravery, but I can't watch that fight without getting angry at the referee. Bruno was dead on his feet, and the stupid ref let the fight carry on. It's how boxers suffer permanent damage.
Lewis was hurt, but was pissed off as well. Imagine you've caught someone with a great punch , they then they slip all your next 4 punches, smile at you and then hit you with massive shots which knock you down. Talk about disheartening. This moment showed Lewis could take a punch and was a stone cold killer in the ring. My favourite Lewis moment. It was awesome to watch live in the early hours on Sky. My Dad and I were on the edge of our seats! Can't believe it's 23 years ago! Briggs was game though. Great performance from him.
@@Jimbo8012 Lewis was hit, not necessarily hurt, he's a boxer, getting hit is part of the job. I've been involved in combat sports since I was 8, and if I hit someone, and they dropped their guard, advanced on me, and casually delivered some hard punches, I wouldn't think that I had hurt them. His "anger" could have been at himself for letting the shot through. The fact is I watched this whole fight with my dad, and we both felt like the American commentators were watching a different fight. This is actually common for brit fighters fighting American opponents in the US.
It's a rarity to see such a big man who is also so athletic. You don't generally see 6'6", 250 pound fighters who are as explosive as Lewis was. And his right cross could knock down a building.

C_R_O_M__________ Well then like an early Ford. Not the most exciting, but one of the most competent.
l ie
That 1-2 he gave Rahman is still one of the best I have ever seen.
Agreed right on the button with Lennox's power no one is getting up
I looked at that fight live.
@@deihmos Rahman was finished after that or no ?
Was funny when Lennox says bring your sister 🤣🤣🤣🤣
By far the best ever
On the second knockout, I love how Briggs is hitting him with loads of punches, then Lennox just smiles like he was being tickled, then goes to drop him
nootus 🔥
Lewis did the same with Tucker, proper Rocky III
Yeah, that was a great moment. He scared and demoralized Briggs with that smile. I don;t think Briggs connected very solidly with his punches though. Most were avoided or glancing.
And briggs was tough as hell with a strong chin and he could punch hard too, lewis just walked through him...!!!!
Briggs is pushover.. He get demolished by post prime Vitali
Surely one of the greatest!
Yes, no-one had a winning record against him in his pro career. Should be much more highly rated in USA. Easily among the best heavyweights, with Ali, Louis, Marciano, Johnson, Foreman, Holmes, Dempsey., and clearly the best of the last few decades.
+mizofan very true, he's top 5 for sure.
He didn't shy away from any fight, even Tyson agreed
O dio Lewis c du lourd impressionant personne l a mis ko🏃si vous le rencontrer parte en courant🏃...
Yes, I think so - difficult to compare fighters from different eras but probably the best of his generation.
best of his generation
He was just so good and I think some people forget he’s definitely in my top 5 of all time heavyweight boxers maybe top 3.
Lennox is. Great champion and a real pro
Doing Canada and the UK proud! Lennox our Boxing Champion forever!
He only lost 2 fights and a draw ! In the heavyweight division in 15 years. And won the rematch for all 3!
Jill Conner Not to mention the draw was a win if you’re a real boxing fan. Such a beast this man was.
@@flavio7180 yeah, and the 2nd fight was much closer to a draw then the first and they gave Lennox a unanimous decision? Not saying it was a draw, just that if either one was gonna be considered a draw it should've been the 2nd fight! I was still a teen at the time still old enough to realize boxing is corrupt.
Jill Conner Yeah I guess if they called the 2nd fight a draw people wouldn’t have reacted that angrily at the decision, although Lewis definitely won imo.
hey the only draw match is vs evander holyfield right?that was so obvious that its his win, holyfield aint the same vs tyson,so his punch cant deal much damage to much younger and all power lennox that time, unless the real deal is as bomb as George Foreman
Cuz he is da man!
The true Champion of great era of boxing. The Legend of my times.
Among the best of all time. A great dignified champion. Real character
Yep the greatest heavyweight of all time Lenox Lewis, in my eyes and every good pro boxer I've ever met agrees.
Nah it wouldve put a great fight. Bowe fought Holyfield 3 times and won 2. Its a shame they never fought as a pro
Underrated 77 nah Lewis is better then Holyfield and bowe
@@underrated7725 Bowe didn't want the smoke, refused to fight him. Lewis was the best of his generation
The Olympics was stopped early, the ref was dodgy
Lennox Lewis was a legend. Most under rated fighter in history.
Не какой он не легенда легендарные бойцы так не падают 0:03 Рахман чуть не убил его.
This guy was a class act.
Lennox Lewis one of the greatest heavyweights all time I read people saying he was underrated????? How can anyone underrate lewis he's in top 5 greatest fighters of all time 👊💤
I'm American, and I think Lennox was probably the best in his Era worldwide, I think most Americans think he's underrated because he wasn't an American fighter... but respect is due.
Without doubt.
I could watch Lennox’s jab all night long. Right up there with Holmes’ and the Hearn’s jab. Works of art.
Definitely one of the greats! You can't argue the Lion had his reign for years. True 2 handed boxer in a division of power punchers. He lit it up in true boxing fashion
Certainly the best of the modern heavyweights.
im so glad i grew up watching lennox lewis 😊🥊
Absolutely broke my heart when he beat Tyson, I was 12 years old.
My favourite boxer of all time.
Mine too. Followed by Bernard Hopkins, and Duran. Those are my top 3
+redkem80 i agree wit you

After Holmes for me.
Lennox...class act, humble, and beat all the best...great fight with another one of my favorites ...vitali klitschko
I've always been a Mike Tyson fan, but Lennox is better and one of the best ever. Long-term champ vs short term champ.
If tyson was in his prime this guy would be done in two
@@goran9139 too much dreaming maybe u not watch, tyson match before
against Evander hollyfield.. Hollyfield do a shit strategy to beat mike, but lennox fight mike like a man by trading punches.. Fyi when lennox vs mike it was nearly end of their both carriers, the different thing is when retire lennox still hold title of world championship and mike retire coz he become a looser coz has so many defeat by others boxer
@@goran9139 Lewis was a late starter in his career, even Mike was one year younger than him, he was at his peak 15 years before this fight. The prison time took away his speed and agility.
Mike tyson was supreme in his era and when time was catching up with him comes lenox that's why otherwise Mike is always iron
@@Yendriarifianto Iron Mike was never the same after he went to prison, he lost his fire and took fights for money b'kuz he had a big name, and what ppl don't know he was on meds when he fought Lewis, once Mike said he'll eat his children Lewis said he's not fighting him unless he takes his medication
This guy was an extremely powerful animal. I think he was at least the punch of all times. Really after Mike Tyson, who was also a very strong boxer my favourite is Lennox Lewis...!! Talented and powerful. Special boxing skills and he just murdered all the towers of boxing in his prime.... but he wasn't that famous like some others....!! Respect ..!!
One of the greatest of all times
He s a beast n a gentlemen outside the ring big respect
Golota's face at 5:12 always cracked me up.
Gołota had good battles as with Ridick Bowe, etc. but he was slowly starting, when someone threw him in the first round, Gołota lost - the psyche
Me to lol ah crying
😂😂😂😂
Gołota technically was one of the best ever but he don't have legs and psyche, complete zero.
@@grzegorzgrzegorz7121 dalej nie rozumiesz.
One of the most underrated boxer's in any weight class
ALL-TIME.
Top 5 heavyweight of all time, had a fairly good chin in my opinion aswell. Its not made of granite like Holyfields but its good
+bob yenan Yea only reason he got knocked out by Rasman was he got over confident and cocky and Rasman had one hell of a right hand.
+Danblukk No heavyweight ever could have survived that right hand by Rahman.
Took clean power shots of Vitali Klitschko while out of shape and still never hit the canvas. Lennox had a great chin when he was focused.
Luis Lopez:Holyfield would have ,and lets be honest most fighters ,good fighters out of shape or not would not have got caught by that punch Rahman was slow as shit foot wise ,when lewis was crap he was crap!
Yeah, a lot of people try to cut his chin down because of the Rahman fight, yet they don't look at the fight itself. Rahman was a big dude with a lot of power, he trained his ass off, and showed up to that fight the best he ever was in his career. Every good champ has that one night, that was his. A dude that big and strong can drop anybody if they get the opening.
Right up there with the greatest heavyweights of all time....His record speaks for itself 44 wins 2 loses and a draw and those loses and draw where all later avenged with decisive wins...
frank hinstine 41 and 2 G do your homework
@@coreypierson4570 Okay you got me 44 FIGHTS 41 wins 2 loses and a draw etc.etc..
@@coreypierson4570 Doesn't change his greatness!
Vitali klitcko wins luis
Greatness
Greatest boxer of the hands down 2nd greatest heavyweight era ever. He has to be consider among the absolute best to ever lace'em up. He was deprived of a win vs Bowe who pathetically ducked him, and possibly against young Tyson if he never went to jail. His reign truly could have been even more epic.
Lennox Lewis was a fucking beast, heavyweight boxing hasn't been the same since he retired
Lewis was never a big draw plus he had a boring style
john richards Still a top 10 heavyweight of all time, pretty impressive for someone who was boring
Nothing to watch since him, every fight now looks like babies scratching
john richards boring for idiots like yourself
john richards no it doesn't, idiot. Anyone with a high level of intelligence can tell when someone isn't intelligent. Takes one to know one. I'm smart and I can tell that you're not.
Lennox Lewis was a great champion 👍👍👍👍🌲🌲🌲
Such a great boxer and sportsman, I genuinely believe I have never watched a better heavyweight. I have never understood why he is not one of the first names pull out of the hat when they they debate the greatest heavyweight of all time.
That knock out against Rahman I can watch it all day
+Bledar Koci He hit Rahman that hard because he never cleaned Lennox's belt whilst being a 5 min champ holder, lol...Really tho, Lewis was reported saying to Rahman, look after my belt as they're on loan to you.....meaning, clean them! lol
One of the best ever top 5 best heavyweight in history
Onestly, Bruno was a tank, he had an incredible chin. Look at the punishment that he took against Lennox and Tyson: he was always staggered hard but he never fell. True warrior
"After the Lewis fight, Bruno's manager, Mickey Duff, said 'Frank (Bruno) has no chin... once he gets hit clean on the button, he goes'."
Bruno really didn't lack for bravery, but I can't watch that fight without getting angry at the referee. Bruno was dead on his feet, and the stupid ref let the fight carry on. It's how boxers suffer permanent damage.
It was painful to watch.
A worthy champion in and out the ring.
He is a big inspiration. It's so Crazy!
I love the bias of the commentators in the Briggs fight. "Lewis is hurt!" Meanwhile Lennox drops his hands and smiles at Briggs before lamping him.
6u
Joshua and Fury next...the Americans hate it...Deontay Wilder joke...
Fury is 6'9, 270 pounds and is even more athletic.
@@H.K.5 I like Lennox more than Anthony and Tyson Fury
@@H.K.5 I would even argue that Lennox is my favourite boxer ever
Such a classy heavyweight, I love his composure!
I never used to like him when I was young...
Damn those heavyweight punches. Only one of those may be enough to put a man into a coma, or even kill.
Lennox was classy and could come back even when he was hurt and knock you out brilliant boxer
I think one of the best fighters of all time.period and definitely one of the most entertaining boxers ever!
0:31 bruh he was taunting him too hard. Take a chill pill Lewis xd. He is definitely the most underrated boxer ever.
That knockout at 6:43 is just absolutely brutal. Lennox knocked that guy into last year!!!
A beautiful KO
My favourite knockout ever, flawless
