    Are you wondering how to improve speaking voice tone and make it last all day long? I am sharing three vocal exercises for better speaking voice. There are many good voice exercises for speaking clearly, but which ones are the best for you? I recommend choosing voice exercises speech therapy or voice warm ups for speaking with different goals. You don’t want to practice speech exercises for adults that have the same goal! Speaking voice exercises can wake up the muscle, work the vocal fold closure or coordinate airflow. Choose the mouth exercises to speak clearly that work best for your voice and body. Voice training exercises for speaking are fun!

    Thank you Katarina for your videos. They have been very helpful for me. I am a singer and a singing teacher and I always watch them carefully seeking new ideas and tips. I have found very helpful and inspiring the straw exercises for example. In this video I like best the NG sound siren exercise. I use to do the humming as well using the n sound hidden behind the m (softly touching the hard palate with the tip of the tongue and sing a note forming m with the lips).
    The vocal fry was a surprise for me! I used to do it when I was a child as a fun. It was very relaxing!!!
    Thank you again.

    This was great! I am trying to be a better singer so I've seen some of these exercises but never explained in this way. I think I've overlooked humming especially concerning the inflammation and healing aspect.
    If I feel less vibrations on higher pitches, can I kind of work my way up to those pitches like a staircase?
    Like sit on one stair (so to speak) and build up the vibration there and work my way up? This was great! When I get working again, I wouldn't mind joining this Vocal Gym. Thanks Katarina!

      Hi Edward, yes I think that is a good approach. Every time you change a pitch find the most vibrations for that pitch. However, bear in mind that the vibrations will feel different or there may be less vibrations as you go higher in range. But you can still optimize for more vibrations at each pitch level. I hope this helps.

      It really depends on what your voice needs that day and what you are planning to do with your voice. Generally, a few minutes (5 minutes) is all you need if your voice is healthy. If vocal demands are really high or if your voice is compromised, then, you may need more time.

    Thank you Katarina madam. I am regularly practicing your straw exercises and neck stretching exercises. How to strengthen my vocal cards ? Sometimes my throat getting dry and sore throat. How to overcome these problems ? Please suggest.

      For dryness, keep good hydration - plenty of fluids and you can try steaming. For strengthening exercises, see if this video helps: ua-cam.com/video/-ND3EI6aaiY/v-deo.html

    When I do the Sirens on NG exercise, should the back of my tongue touch the roof of my mouth ? When I do it with my tongue touching the roof of my mouth, there is more vibration around my nose. And when my tongue is not touching the roof of my mouth, my humming sounds louder.

    • @healthyvoicetips
      @healthyvoicetips  9 місяців тому

      That makes absolute sense. When you put your tongue into the NG position, the back of the tongue will automatically touch the roof of the mouth (at the back) and the sound will be more directed into your nose, which will make the sound quieter. If you lower the tongue, the airflow will go more through the mouth and the sound will be louder.

      If it feels good, then yes. You can do it, however, I am not sure if this is THE exercise that will help overcome your voice issue.

      I am very sorry to hear about your vocal troubles. Have your voice evaluated by a laryngologist. That is the very first step in knowing what to do next.
