    I always hear that not enough air causes the speaker to speak from his/her throat. But then I see videos like this encouraging small breaths. I always have a hard time reconciling these different tips.

      It depends on what vocal task you are doing. Yes, long sustained sounds need more air but loud sounds don't.

    Hi! Thank you for your work. Can i use the sound you show at 5:40 also when i’m not speaking loud, to improve the efficency of my normal cordal adduction (?). Can we use this sound for a long time without hurting us? Or should limitate in exceptional cases? I work with kids and I’m in serious difficulties about my voice

    • @healthyvoicetips
      @healthyvoicetips  3 роки тому

      This sound is safe (if done properly) for long conversations or even disciplining kids. I am not sure where you come from but many people already have a little bit of that sound in their voices. Now, it is a matter of controlling how much you "turn it on". You can use it when not trying to speak loud (you probably don't want to use it in quiet places or when singing a lullaby).

      It’s a matter of practice. Also knowing how you create the sounds helps. For example when you create a small space that resonates high frequencies like demonstrated in this video, you don’t need a lot of breath.

      Hi Zelda, I am sorry to hear about your continuing troubles with your voice. It seems like you are dealing with something complex that cannot be "fixed" with simple exercises I could recommend over the internet. I suggest that you speak to your doctor and your therapist and express your concerns to them so that they can help you navigate this process. It takes time to heal the voice. It seems like you need to work on vocal technique when using your voice (speaking and singing). Steamer is a nice addition but steamer is just a steamer to improve hydration.
      And if you are not happy with what they can offer, then I suggest that you find a second opinion.
