Not only stay together but as dumb as this sounds because so many females think they can solely watch each other & have that no need no man because this ain't the 50's anymore mentality but sorry not sorry even if you are out with a group of females please please please at least make sure you bring at least two guys to join your group(no they don't need to be right next you & your ladies) but your trusted guy friends can be within close distance like watching you from a distance sorta like having your personal body guard just saying. I am 32 and this is what me & my female friends used to do we stayed together in our group never parted from each other but we also were wise enough to keep a couple guys friends with us watching us fron a distance for the what if moment none of us want to ever experience but yeah we kept ourselves extra safe maybe a little too extra safe but better safe then sorry.. -Mercy(sorry for the name confusion i am on my dad's phone at the moment)

People really think that single mothers have to be 24/7 with their kids or they are bad moms. They are women, they need their space and personal live apart from their children, having that and neglecting children are 2 very different things, she was having a night out and it's absolutely preposterous that someone can blame her for her own death, 4 children are left without a loving mother and people blame her, not the a**hole who killed her 😡 People should really do some soul-searching

I feel sad having to say it, and most people would never make a negative comment- but hopefully the few people who thought about it will think again! Everyone is saying she deserved a fun night out which is true, but you also have to be cautious and not leave a bar with strangers, and especially leave with multiple strangers and go to an unfamiliar house. This is the stuff parents warn us about. This could have been prevented. Not victim blaming but leaving with strangers is absolutely unsafe and now those kids don't have a mom. This case was so close to my heart- although I lived in Louisville, I worked in Lexington Ky and the bar she went missing from was on the block adjacent to the physicians office I worked in. I had actually been a customer when she was a waitress at Shakespeare and it shook me to the core of my soul when I realized we had that momentary crossing of paths.
My heart and mind still struggle to process the intrusive thoughts ie “what if I had known or what if I could’ve foreseen or what if I could have befriended her? would or could that have led her to a different place and situation- albeit a different outcome in which she’d have made it safely home her babies that night ???” And although I do know “rationally” that neither her nor I could’ve imagined the unexpected tragedy that was to come; I also know there is no solace, no comfort, and no relief for her loved ones whatsoever to be found either thus forcing so many of us to seek comfort in avoidance, negative coping skills, and professional therapy/counseling to deal with the aftermath and effects such a brutal murder leaves in its wake.
Savannah’s life is still relevant to so many other young women in this area and, in my opinion, her tragic death exemplifies the dichotomous struggle so many young women in this area face. Whether it’s relevant to socio-economic factors solely or in addition to the myriad of other possible variables- so many women ** in this area face mental health and addiction issues. So many of us just “need a night out”- an escape- to avoid the stressors of daily life and thus we may not always “choose” the best or healthiest options to cope and stress can drive us to participate in things that may or may not be the safest option- only to figure it out after it’s too late so to speak. I really wish there was more resources for mental health and addiction in our area- bc goodnes knows we need it around here.
** (yes men too but I’m speaking primarily to young female adults)

Victim blaming is absolutely inappropriate in ANY situation. Victim's familes have suffered enough loss and pain without having to endure their loved one's reputation and memory being destroyed as well. Thank you Rachel for being sensitive to victims, their families, and telling their stories and honoring their memory. ❤

In no way, shape, or form does anyone DESERVE to get murdered. But there are things that people are taught from a very young age such as not talking to strangers and not getting into a car with strangers. These basic things are what CAN get you killed. That is not victim-blaming, this young lady had 4 kids, she shouldn't have gone in the car for the sake of herself and her kids. That is just common sense.

I'm only 7 minutes in, but as a mother myself it frustrates me how us, as parents, seem to get judged for wanting to go out or just needing a break.
As much as you love your kids being a full time parent, especially of multiple kids, is exhausting mentally and physically. Getting a break really helps recharge you so you can be all that your kids need. I know what it's like to be a full time parent with no help from the father. So I really don't like when people blame the victims instead of the person causing the harm.
I'm interested to see how this video ends.

I applaud you for putting such a straight forward warning out there for people who think it's okay to blame a victim. Short of the victim being a murderer or a paedophile etc, they're never going to deserve to be killed. How does anyone justify blaming a young mother for being murdered when all she wanted to do was go out and let her hair down?? Its mind boggling! Good on you Rachel for not taking any of that bullshit xxx

I don't think anyone blames her as in "it's her fault this happened", because the only one whose fault this is, is the person that murdered her. However, she made numerous irresponsible decisions that night that could have potentially led to her being chosen as that guys victim.

    • @Charlie-bz7cv

@@mareeepy We should focus more on raising people who don't grow up to be murderers, not on having to worry about being murdered all the time. • @mareeepy

@@Charlie-bz7cv Most of the time the people who become murderers are from broken or abusive households anyways and/or they are psychopaths. Neither of these are going to be changed/fixed. I can not believe people would victim blame. When I was 22 I was a young mother with 2 kids I had a new born and a 2 year old. My husband would watch the kids and encourage me to go to the club now and then with the girls to let my hair down. He understood that mothers need that time out for adult time. I guess that's why we are still together 26 years now and our 2 kids are grown.
