Glad you got to the Abbasids, I've been enjoying them a lot so far, they've definitely become my favorite faction so far. The fact that everything is done from one building and you can just focus on your economic gains and base building really appeals to me. Not to mention that the infantry armor boosts and anti-cav cav are also pretty great. Also I like their ability to build siege weapons in the field so easily without having to worry about any technology.
I'm really liking this series. Just start playing AOE again (played AOE 2 before) and this really helps not only on how to play the faction you liked but also knowing how to counter other factions. Waiting for Chinese faction as I'm really liking their niche but cool dynasty mechanic
Very happy to see this. I'm glad you talked about the differences in their navy. After learning that Lancers and Knights are statistically identical, I assumed the same would be true for different civs' naval vessels. I couldn't figure out why I was doing so poorly on naval maps. The basic Arrow Ship being cheaper and weaker than other armies' equivalents was the main reason. The Baglah has less power but a little more versatility than other civs' attack ships, still overall cheaper and weaker, but the Abbasid demolition ship is significantly stronger for the same price as other civs. The Xebec has become my ace in the hole when playing against European civilizations on naval maps, since it's more durable and more powerful than the Carrack. Before I have access to it, I make sure I've produced my docks at different corners of my starting island, so that I can be sneaky if my opponent rushes me early (particularly France), make sure I'm building towers near my docks and any island expansions and wait until I can emplace springalds on them, and then produce a small but steady number of demolition ships to slow down their naval operations. I've had a lot of success with this approach so far, even against France with their seemingly overpowered navy.
I don't know why I am choosing to play the Abbasid but I have and really enjoyed this tutorial. I am sure they will become a great faction once it is figured out how to exploit their abilities.
Hopefully the Monday 11/15 patch will fix the armor glitches. Right now Barding doesn't work and Shields only kind of works. Camels will be more effective then. After trying every camel comp, I think maybe Siege is the key for Abba. Early rams, or early mangonels can help level the playing field vs French or English. Fully upgraded mass Abba archers (attack speed+fire arrows) are sneaky good too. The third Golden Age is hard to get. Spamming towers and houses is the only decent way to get it in MP battles. Great stuff as always bro.
Yeah I knew about the bugs but I wanted to try and not cover that in the video since it'll hopefully be fixed very soon. Was afraid of making the video out of date the second that patch hits Hahah
@@ravingmilf3148 They haven't fix most of thing in Abbassid as so many tooltip in their upgrades(and even the Golden Age tier bonus) that doesn't match it actual number. They either give more or less than what the tooltip says.
Thanks a lot for making these. I appreciate Beasty’s effort but my god he is difficult to listen to. Your presentation and communication skills are top notch. THANKS!! 🙃
Umm, yeah I have a recommendation...… Moar Sparty live streams!! Cuz this guys got a super serious and totally not made up History time addiction and I needs my fix! lol seriously though more livestreams! Keep up the good work!
I think the better way to do it might be mass veteran Spearman and sprinkle in camel rider/archers as secondary unit for the good cavalry debuff. I think they are too expensive tp spam
@@johndegloria3596 I am just getting into the game now but I think John has it right here. The camels lack the armour to be fighting knights 1v1 in spams but they still do their AoE debuff even if they are few in number and get buffs to boost nearby troops. So I think mostly infantry+camel archers nearby for knight debuff and infantry debuff is best then us camel archer for harrass inbetween big fights. What do you think 1 month later?
Abassids seem to suck if the enemy is not using any cavalry. Heavy siege and infantry lends itself to men at arms or knights. Frankly I prefer the Mongols in sheer speed of unit creation and cheaper access to traders with less economy requirement.

Great informative video!

Do the Abbasid just lose if the House of Wisdom and the starting TC both get destroyed?
Yeap lost against a friend like that, I would say building defences for your hometown is quite important
Imagine you are ahead by 10k score and the enemy just sneaks a couple of bombards behind your line and finishes you within seconds 😂
How big is the learning curve to this game??
Answer: Yes
I make camel riders but I always get beaten by french knights. Can anyone help me?
same

What do you think 1 month later?
Are berry bushes faster than sheep for Abbasid?
Yes! 25% faster father rate :)

Hey spartacus italiano :)
Dude, we look so much alike
