I think is a nice touch that they don't eat pork due to the civ being muslim, one of those details most people would look past.
And so should the Delhi Sultanate too
@@AhmedKhaled-wc3kh well Delhi Sulatanate was very different from Abassids.
They had plenty of non Muslims in their cadre.
@@iamdanyboy1
That is true, but if we are going based on the Sultanate's official religion, i think it would be Islam.
@@iamdanyboy1 and so did the abbasids. Maybe not as much as the Delhi sultanate but the Abbasids had a huge Christian population as well as the world's largest concentration of Jews at the time.
@@najabs123 Aah. I should have been more specific.
I mean non-'people of the book' . Islam has three tiers typically in certain rules and customs like marriage for example. Muslims , then other people of the book like Jews and Christians, and then the polytheists and Pagans.
DS had the largest of the latter.
"welcome to the abassid dynasty guide, i'm playing them the first time"
>proceeds to call them 7star difficulty
what
Interesting build. You can improve it further by tasking only one villager to construct the respective early buildings and sending the other already to the resource. Two vills don't build twice as fast
Are you sure? But they build faster? Or only the wonder build faster with more vils?
@@blackphant8399 it’s definitely faster but 4 is twice as fast 2 is not double the speed.
@@999-y6t8q oh i get it thanks
Abbasids are Muslims so boar is prohibited in Islam
Oh h yeah, Pig is forbidden for y'all since its considered to be an unclean animal. Interestingly enough, since you don't eat bacon you probably don't have to worry about heart attacks as much.
Also recent studies have indicated that there's a link between pork consumption and an higher risk of gastric cancer.
So I guess that's a pretty good rule you have.
@@robertkeaney9905 pork is tasty tho
@@ustanik9921 This is true. But turkey bacon isn't half bad.
@@ustanik9921 Humans are tastier. :-')
@@ustanik9921 in vietnam they said rats is even tastier, so *shrug
Good to see the Abbasids getting some love
Abbasids really are my favourite from that stress test beta
Yes thank you. I kept running out of gold with this civ. Everyone else seems to have a way to make gold without trade
Make pikes and archers and you won't need as much gold. Definitely want to grab relics for longer games and get the upgrade at the mosque. Save gold for Mangonels and spam archer/pike with all that food and wood. If the enemy has a lot of man at arms, crossbows are your best friend.
@@FitzBro How good is the Imam, what do you think? Is he a "must get" in lategame, converting a whole army to your side, or does it take too long to get him, protect him to stay alive, get the relic, etc.? Thx for your opinion.
@@LookAtTheBacon it takes a lot of micro, but worth it. Harder to pull off if he has a lot of archers.
Were only a few Civs available during Beta testing? I couldn't find any gameplay with Mongols and the Delhi Sultanate for example.
Only the holy Roman Empire, the abassid dynasty, the Chinese and the English were playable if I remember correctly
@@gabriellarochelle5127 thank you for confirming it
Big Question: Why use trade (or especially the trade wing as early as age 2/3)? I realised that the pops I dedicated to trade could be well used with Villagers as there are A LOT of resources on the map. I also feel that I should like build trade carts as early as feudal age but then it feels unnecessary as the pops could be dedicated elsewhere. I always go for the Economic wing first for cheaper villagers, or the Tech wing when I feel like I might have a prolonged Feudal and I might need to research Blacksmith techs, etc. as well. I've been following you ever since I saw your comments on the closed beta forum, it feels soo good to see videos like these!
Trade economy does not run out, unlike gold mined by villagers that will eventually run out and gonna force you to expand or fight over territories.
Therefor playing with thhe trade wing sets you up for a better and long-lasting lategame.
In team games or FFA this wing is even more important for that reason. In 1v1 I agree that in MOST cases it is the least important wing you want to go for. I can still see an argument for that though, if you think you can pull out a long game and win by trade.
@@ShaggyLunchCake I played a lot of 3v3 and 4v4 especially today and the Gold does run out... but much later, and I feel like you shouldn't even contemplate creating them at least until late castle age, let alone picking the Trade Wing for Abbasid Feudal age up
you should go for economic wing if you plan to make a 2 TC boom, otherwise you win more resources with the trade wing. But you need a good map to do the trade wing otherwise it is useless.
drongo recording a build order video in a competitive match is on another level
I think Abbasid not being able to eat boars is because of Halal, quite cool detail
its interesting how they integrated islamic belief that forbid eating pork into in game mechanic
I don't know if the economic wing is the best with the abbasids, I feel like the gold savings from getting the culture wing and preservation of knowledge is more beneficial early on considering how fast you get food from berries and mills.
If you go 2 TCs economy wing is definitely better. The Culture wing pays off when you play a variety of aggressive units and need to get all the military techs early, as far as I could tell.
Muslims don't eat pork, terefore no boar.
They do eat it if it's halal.
@@huberteichson8304 they don't eat pork. It is considered Haram (forbidden). It cannot be purified through prayer.
Yes finally im not the only 1 2 tc boom with double archery range production if you wanna be greedy you can drop a market and abuse it for a 3rd i do it against English because they always bringing in long bows but i go full camel archer
how do you bring up strategies? what are you calculating exactly. can you do a video about finding out good buildingorders and strategies?
as my main play with abbasid this really helpfull
The size of the camel vs the footmen next to it looks ridicilous lol
Camels definitively look too big lol
Dude camels are really big animals tho you'd be surprised when you stand next to one
wdym, they look pretty proportional with each other. They have a shoulder height of about 6 feet, and it checks out.
Everything is looking Gucci? Lol that made me laugh so hard. Good content man keep it up
Hey ! Thanks for the vid, could you please tell us, what's the best distance for the markets and caravan ? Is the gold amount depending a lot on the distance between the two market ? what's the optimal distance ?
Afaik it's dependant on the distance, exactly. So putting them as far away in the corners as you can makes the most profit iiuc.
Love how Abbassids play.
It think this is very promising but it will need to proof itself vs an opponent that actually knows what he is doing
Do you think this build still has merit? I never see Abbasid go 2-2-2
Very interesting, the game seems like a good mixture of Age of 2 and 3.
Seems very nice so far, also seems to run well. I wonder if you can do some 2v2 or 4v4 lategame setup, see how it holds up with lots of units and building in big battles.
Thanks for the sharp content ya Drongo.
What's great is it feels like a mixture of AOM as well. The TC's function extremely similarly with the way they auto attack w/o garrisoning.
@@Rimedane I wish they borrowed Age of Mythology's varied relic bonuses and civilization powers as well. :/
@@ArawnOfAnnwn That'd be awesome really. But I feel like the varied powers got worked into the Age up mechanics via Landmakr systems. China age 3 can legit map hack and see all your villagers.
@@ArawnOfAnnwn Different factions can use relics differently it seems. Like for example the HRE can garrison relics inside of keeps or outposts to make them very tough. We also saw that the Rus I believe get mounted monks who can carry relics on horseback and do mass conversions very effectively by closing in
@@Rimedane if you time the map-hack to see all villagers with an early raid its SO helpful. easily spot villagers exposed.
I've noticed villagers idling and resource selection and bad attack pathing being kinda buggy issues slowing me down in games so far
NOICE , thats the stuff :D
Hey man was just wondering if you’d ever be interested in playing with viewers and giving some tips:) thx for the great videos
lets go
Culture seem like the best option first since you make all upgrades 30% cheaper form age 2 onword
10:10 Are we sure its an aura around the unit or is it the horsemen they actively shoot with their bows?
aw game ended too quick, wanted to see abassid late game
I really liked the abbasids in the open beta. They felt really strong to me.
Camel archers are so good. I swear I was beating english longbowblobs with just camel archers just from them being so tanky. They have so much HP that the armor upgrade helps so much.
32K views " we are a little bit of under cover "
8:06 yeah, muslims dont eat pigs or boar. It could be that the game is trying to stay somewhat true to the belife the civilization held at their time.
Aussie I was playing as abbasid dynasty with a guy, 1 vs 1 but all the gold reserves are gone how to get gold :( ?
The issue with the boars are their civilisation. Islamic nations do not eat pork.
HRE guide plz.
Isn’t collecting berries bad since they have the lowest gathering rate? I was told they are a big jebait and to build farms or farm animals
Abbasid Dynasty get +25% gather rate on berries which offsets the berries being "bad" to "ok" D:
This bell sound!!
drongo vs some noob, cmon man
its Haraam to eat Pork anyway :P
all these low effort gameplay footage videos posing as "guides" really makes you appreciate SOTL
not to say it out loud but you are a way better caster than t90 dont tell him thooooo
HOW CAN I GET THAT DEMO
Bruh really just dropped a guide with 5 hours left in the open beta :(
hi
Doesnt the majority of age of empires players likes the larger armies, troop compositions and the chaos that errupts from multiple players and the tactic/economic micro. This just purely looks like AoE3 where aggressive overplay rewards way too much, u have minimal troop sizings and things are way to large
…”enables me to be a bit more liberal with my economy”… gold atm: 1 😂😂😂
說話太快,趕見上帝?
picking on a noob
I really hope you won’t just leave aoe3 because aoe4 just looks so bad
@Kody Stutzman it’s not that it’s just different, the pace is slower, the game looks childish, all in all i just think it looks like a child friendly version of aoe2, coming from a 10 year long aoe3 fan
@Kody Stutzman that’s exaclty what i liked about aoe3 and it made it feel more “pro” in a way, but we can agree to disagree, ape4 is just not my thing
@@shaihubela1926 The game can actually play pretty fast depending on the civ. Abbasid are just slow compared to other civs in general it feels.
@Kody Stutzman "encourages greater APM and planning ahead" ah, so you don't play AoE 3. That's unfortunate.
Forward wonder?
The age up-building of the Englishman can produce units, so placing it towards the enemy ("forward") let's your units reach the enemy base quicker. It's called work of wonder or something, that's probably why he called it wonder, even if it's technically not a "wonder" (of the world that wins you the game after 10mins). I hope that clarifies his remark a bit for you.
@@LookAtTheBacon Ah yes that makes sense. Thanks for explaining! :)
@@MrBigBas My pleasure, you're welcome.
