Thank you for this video!! I was a lucky 7 year old kid who got to see this movie in the theater in 1977! With "Brand New" Dolby Surround Sound! It was the movie that set the standard! Great video, Scott!!!
Great video. Awesome find. I've been to the sets in Tunisia. Mind blowing. What I will say though is that most of it was filmed in pinewood studios in England.
Man had no idea ILM was in Van Nuys I mean we have all seen the behind the scenes making of star wars and the historical building/sight in the documentary but it never even crossed my mind to go check this place out. Thanks for this video Scott. Life long star wars fan here. BTW Congrats on 56K subscribers man your growing everyday.
Lucas is an innovator. I had no idea the movie was created inside the Industrial Light & Magic building. Legendary things always have humble beginnings. He now works with Disney which is amazing. I've never been a Star Wars fan but I do respect the impact of the film. I'm planning to return to Disneyworld in Florida and go to the Star Wars Galaxy's Edge theme park. By the videos its like you are on a movie set.
Another brilliant one Scott, seriously proud of you, you done almost everything I ever wanted to see, such as "People under the stairs" im nearly 43 now, so you can imagine all the movies in my time you done, I dont know what we sould do without you, we just freaking love you, all credit goes to you.
Wow who would have thought that Star Wars would be made in that in descriptive building and parking lot! My favorite is still the original movie. George Lucas is such a visionary. Great job Scott!
I remember watching that short behind the scenes Movie and saw clips of how they filled the final scene, but never knew where the location was. Awesome!! I might swing by that place over the weekend!!
I venture only in Washington state... I've been 2 Bruce Lee's grave b4 his son passed... always think bout um... a very star wars fan... yesss.. ty, Scott ❤🙏✌
I lived in Van Nuys from 2002 to 2010 near the major streets of Sepulveda Blvd and Victory Blvd. There was even a studio next to where I lived on a Lemona Avenue and when I would be going to work early the morning around 4 to 4:30am there would filming going on there as I saw a balloon used as a effect for something there. I even saw activity there too when I rode by there on my bicycle but I couldn’t go in as the building was fenced off.
That was an amazing and unique filming location man. It's so awesome how that death star scene was right there a little over 40 years ago. I'd love to pass by that every now and then and just dwell on what took place on that spot.
Unbelievable Scotty. If anyone could find locations from Star Wars you can. So exciting for me and more so for Tango Sucka, who has left you a comment somewhere here. The first three his favourite movies. I myself think that the Star Wars movies were the best movies of all times. I have watched them many times over and will watch them again for sure. After watching this video would never have thought that Star Wars would have started in that building and parking lot. George Lucas is a legend. Scotty I recognised the necklace you were wearing. So excited to see it. Great job Scotty you have made so many Star Wars fans happy and goes without saying Tango Sucka and me. As always love from your family down under. Don’t want to sound like a broken record. Waiting to hear from you. ❤️🤗✌🏼💕
Thanks for the video, Scott! It always makes my day to see that you posted a video 😊 I saw Star Wars in the summer of 1977. My parents took me and my brother to see it at a drive-in movie theater in New Jersey. We watched it sitting in the opened back of my parent's Pinto wagon and it was awesome
As a hardcore Star Wars fan this video was amazing. The movie was made with passion and ingenuity from a lot of people (not all) - the film really should not have been as good as what it was.
Got the ILM book in 82, it covered production of all the departments, Gawley, Edlund and the rest. Got pictures of crew member on a forklift moving a refrigerator into ILM. Been on Lucas Valley Rd in San Rafael, if you don't know where anything is you would never find it.
14 Movies Scott :) 2 spin offs, 2 Ewok movies and the Clone Wars Animated Movie :) Ill stop being a geeky fan now. Love the vid, A new thing I didnt know about Star Wars, that is the greatest parking lot of all time to me. Literally the Death Star surface where the car parking bays are...
Speaking of George Lucas, he is actually from my area in Central California. He's from Modesto, CA. He graduated from Downey High School, and went to Modesto Junior College. "American Graffiti" was filmed in Modesto, too. It was about "a slow night in Modesto". So technically, Han Solo has been here, too. Lol.
I really enjoy your videos Scott! ever since your last video i keep asking my dog if he wants to go to the pakkk, ha. you did a video in my neck of woods, last year maybe...goonieville. peace~
Bro if you ever come to Arizona there's alot to show around here with movies like Bill and Ted's excellent adventure being filmed out here. Would love to show ya around sometime
It would be cool to work there and be able to say the biggest film in history was filmed here. Wonder if the people there know. Historic place in my opinion.
This type of vlog was good. All around the world as well as me all the way from India surprise to see like this..appreciate... But 1 thing is ... Pliz dont give video filter...be jus as the original...so that its nice to seee..thank u..do more vidss👍👍👍👍

i wonder how many ppl that pass that building everyday know what was filmed there this is Amazing another Great vid Scott
Right? That’s what I think
Most people that work around the building likely don't care, too busy on their cell phones to care.

Let's not forget most of the Star Wars interior scenes were filmed at Elstree Studios, UK.
