@@BeyondtheBacklot that would be awesome. Just last night my kids and I were watching home alone and then I stumble upon your video 🤗 I lost count of how many years I've to watch home alone every Christmas. It is my tradition. You guys are awesome 🌟
My dad worked as a mailman for the town of Winnetka during these Home Alone filming years. The Home Alone house was not one of the homes assigned to his direct mail route, but he did drive us past the house during the early 90's when we were kids, and the owners at the time had a cardboard cutout of Kevin McCallister looking out the front window by the door. Good times.
I’ve always said if I was a lottery winner, I would buy this house for however much it cost to acquire and oversee a full restoration to its 1990 wallpapered top to bottom, red and green, gold fixture glory. This home deserves to be a museum for the masses. It’s cultural significance is far too great and has had a profound impact on generations. Shame on the current homeowners for knowingly purchasing a property with such an important cinematic history and being so stingy. Really really sad.
As someone who grew up down the road, there is a 0% chance the town would allow you to create a museum in a neighborhood. No one would want that disturbance. It’s just a house.

LOVE THIS!! What a beautiful home. I recently watched a video from an interview of the girl (now woman) who lived their during the filming. She was young.. maybe Macaulay’s age at the time? Anyway, she spoke about the experience and how wonderful it was. The family was surprised by how successful the movie became. Watched this movie back in 1990 when I was ten at my school. We all sat on the carpet and watched on that little TV. It became everyone's favorite movie. Now my kids love it and we watch it many times a year, not just during Christmas. Something about this movie that feels so cozy, exciting, and hopeful at the same time.
I live in Illinois, and we go by the home alone house every year as a Christmas tradition. Don't feel bad, the ppl who live their now are mean and don't want anyone around reliving home alone. The ppl who used to live there didnt mind at all. Dope video though, I loved it. Thanks for posting 🤘🏻

It is without a doubt, one of the best Christmas movies ever made. It has become a tradition for me to watch it during the holidays along with Home Alone 2, Die Hard and the 1951 version of Scrooge. If these movies doesn't put you in the holiday mood, nothing will.
This is great... Great movie. I'm always taking friends and relatives from out of town here. Have to say, the original owners allowed everyone to come by and into their property. Such a great old couple. The new ones who moved in maybe 7 years ago, changed it. I can understand, it's hard when everyday they get visitors as well. Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy
Great work, guys! I love the Home Alone movies. I was in the 6th grade when the first one came out and always imagined that happening to me when I was a kid. It's just an all around feel good Christmas movie; a modern classic now. Hard to believe it came out so long ago now. I remember watching the trailers for this movie on TV and being so excited to go see it. I still remember seeing this in the theaters with my family, like it was yesterday.
After enjoying the initial silliness, laughter and fun, I was cringing at the thought of you going into the church to film. But... you were quite respectful and very sentimental. Nice tribute to one of America's favorite Christmas movies.
Legendary Christmas movie!!! This movie was shown in every part of the world and was dubbed in every language!!! This movie will always be an integral part of the Christmas!!! Thank you for making this documentary!!! I'd love to visit these locations one day!
This was the first movie I ever saw in a movie theatre. I was 6 years old. I grew up watching this movie every Christmas with my family. Brings back such great memories. I've always been obsessed with this movie. The music by John Williams is just so magical. I own the soundtrack and listen to it every Christmas. The Home Alone House is just beautiful. The casting was perfect. How I feel about Home Alone is how my dad feels about A Christmas Story. Both are great Christmas classics. I just have always had a connection with Home Alone. I secretly stalk this house and saw it was for sale a few years ago. I found a realtor on UA-cam who did a tour of the home. The pervious owners have since updated everything. The people who bought this house apparently don't like people coming to take pictures near it. That honestly makes me upset. This is a famous house from one of the best Christmas movies in my opinion that has touched so many of our hearts. They shouldn't have purchased it if thats an issue for them. What Assholes! A gate is not going to stop people from coming to photograph it. I would love to purchase this home one day and restore it to exactly how it was in the movie. Around Christmas time I would give tours of the home and serve hot coco to anyone who visited it. Just a little dream I have. My son is two and I can't wait for us to start a tradition of watching it together every year. Thanks so much for the great video. You guys are the best! I would never turn the sprinklers on you. God I just want to punch the owners now.
Great video guys, proper nostalgia for me watching when I was a kid...and even now! Just a quick idea, why not just knock on the door when you got to Kevin's house??? Worse they could of said is no haha
Home Alone 1 & Home Alone 2 are my favorite movies. When I’m sick or feeling down I watch them and it brings comfort. It isn’t Christmas unless I watch them!
Just fantastic as always. I can't believe they turned the sprinklers on you... that is pretty mean spirited especially as you guys are always extremely respectful. Keep up the brilliant work 👏
All good! We respect the fact people live in these places. It shows that sometimes no one can gain access to these historic spots. We soldier on, though! Thanks for watching!
The house is actually blurred out on Google Earth. I've seen Marty's House from Back to the Future and at least the owners aren't punks, unless you walk into their property.
I worked in the Chicago area for the past few Summers and had the opportunity to visit these locations, and all other locations from John Hughes’s films. Neal Page’s house from “Planes Trains and Automobiles” is a few neighborhoods down from the Mcallister’s home. Was so cool to see these areas in person.
Home alone is not only my favorite Christmas movie, but it is my most favorite movie of all time. Great video. Hope you do a home alone 30 years anniversary podcast. Thank you.
Same here, or at top 10. I struggle to chose only one. But its definitely a magical one, along with home alone 2. ❤️I had a huge crush on Macaulay Culkin growing up. Watched and owned all of his movies. Richie rich, the good son, my girl etc.
Thank you for this. The lone Kevin, at the back of church, and the camera at the choir end create a sense of welcoming Kevin, in a time of need. A sanctuary. A safe haven.
I live in Illinois, and sadly thats what ya get when you go that far north in the state. A bunch of snobs that turn the sprinklers on because they think they're better than you.
Excellent video I loved it but the ending in the church part was heartbreaking 💔😢 home alone is a historical film many have died including Robert Bloosom very moving final 😢😢.
The ending was incredible guys. Awesome job and thank you. I had the pleasure of taking my wife to the house about a month and a half ago. The town is amazing. It screams Christmas….
Only seeing the outside of the house was all that was needed because the inside scenes were filmed inside an old school made in to a set so getting inside probably would have been a let down. The DVD has a great behind-the-scenes footage and explains a lot.
are there any othher Christmas movies like this? or close to this? im not talking about the movie it self but how in shows Christmas spirit as it was in the past.

I love this movie so much. It's an instant trip back to childhood. The goodness, the optimism and the fun in the movie is so good, it's an uplifting film. The 2and part is the reason why I wish to visit the plaza. The bridge over the train scene is splendid. We need Hollywood and Bollywood to make such good movies again. ❤

Both home alone movies are my favorites. Both are special to me. As an 80s baby I watched these over and over growing up. Reminds me of good times living with my grandparents. My grandma used to put both of these movies, including the goonies on all the time for me. Great times, great movies.
thank you for all those words that you said in the church, really touching, and it's like I just realized, that this movie told us, that we are actually never being alone, sometimes God put His Angels in a forms of old man, to watch over us. Christmas is coming soon, hopefully you guys have a wonderful chirstmas this year, gather with family and love ones.
I'm from Brazil and I still think this is one of the best Christmas movies in the world, whenever Christmas comes I watch the first two films, they are the best. Thanks my friend for this documentary about filming locations these days.
They do not know how much it means for our childhood, this movie, thanks for your video could bring out a tear, it transports us to the past, a past with the family with innocence and happiness
It’s really interesting to see the surroundings of the scenes & little clips of the part of the movie your talking about. The church part is my favorite part. When I was a kid, I liked that part when they’re running through the airport, cause of the song, run, run Rudolph. I have that song on my iPhone. 😆

Wow so long time ago ❤❤ bless you 🎉🎉
Fisrt time watching this chanel. You guys did a great job👍
Thanks for watching!
Damn, just felt some Christmas atmosphere dude! Y’all great, ty for this video 🙃
I’m 38 and I watch this movie with my kids every single year during Christmas.
Awesome! That's the best tradition. Thanks for watching.
What did they expect when they bought the Home Alone house? LOL!
The people who live in that house are assholes. I would expect people to visit it sometimes. They were standing on the public sidewalk.
oh wow...that is a shame that they are like that. I was going to take my kids next year and was hoping to stand on the sidewalk outside. It looks like they don't even want that.
Are you saved friend? If you died tonight will you go to heaven or hell? God Almighty, the Creator was manifest in the flesh. He came into the world to take away the sin of the world. He gave up his own life to save yours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for your redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him.
This is the Gospel which means the Good News. Turn to Christ and live.
John 1:1,14 KJV
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. [14] And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,
Isaiah 9:6 KJV
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
John 1:10 KJV
He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
John 20:28-29 KJV
And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. [29] Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

When did the new owners move in? It literally makes me so mad they are such assholes!
Got a bit emotional during the church speech! Merry Christmas everyone, stay safe
Wow! So did we. Thank you for joining us on this Xmas journey. :)
I got a bit emotional with you message ☺😢
Merry Christmas my friend ......
@@BeyondtheBacklot did u ever visit Kevin from home alone 1990
Home Alone is such a great family movie!
This video was so well done. Especially the lack of “please like, subscribe, share, favorite, etc”. You’ve got some real quality videos here. You deserve more subscribers.
Very kind words! Thank you for the comment and for watching. Be sure to like, subscribe, shar.....j/k. ;)
Nicely made it good to be a kid again.
Thanks for watching!
everything looked and felt better back in 90s
So beautiful is the movie. Loving watch
It is without a doubt, one of the best Christmas movies ever made. It has become a tradition for me to watch it during the holidays along with Home Alone 2, Die Hard and the 1951 version of Scrooge. If these movies doesn't put you in the holiday mood, nothing will.
Just love the movie it's a classic but amazing to see scenes that made
Thanks for watching!
Of course. We want to always respect these locations as they are where people live. Thanks for watching!
Fun Fact: the scene where Kevin was almost hit by the van was filmed in reverse.
Well known fact but a good fun fact
@@liamloxley1222 You DO realize they can overdub voices, right? Unless your comment was sarcasm, lol.
@@liamloxley1222 The scream was edited in. Do you have like no brain cells or something?
@@liamloxley1222 Unless you’re being sarcastic then haha ok.
Hey, hey. Let's all get along 😊
It was a great review of all the sets. I would be great you could show us inside Machlister'house .
Wish we could have too :) But the house interiors were shot in a high school pool nearby.
John Hughes made all those great movies in that area.
After enjoying the initial silliness, laughter and fun, I was cringing at the thought of you going into the church to film. But... you were quite respectful and very sentimental. Nice tribute to one of America's favorite Christmas movies.
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed it.
Can we just appreciate they went the extra mile and put friggin Christmas lights in the car. Following in Kevin's footsteps. 😎👍
Thank you!
Legendary Christmas movie!!! This movie was shown in every part of the world and was dubbed in every language!!! This movie will always be an integral part of the Christmas!!! Thank you for making this documentary!!! I'd love to visit these locations one day!
Wahoo! Thank you for watching!!
Wow -- what a wonderful comment! We couldn't agree more with what you said. Thanks so much for watching. And Merry Christmas!
Great video guys, proper nostalgia for me watching when I was a kid...and even now! Just a quick idea, why not just knock on the door when you got to Kevin's house??? Worse they could of said is no haha
If not for the fence and clear signage not to... we would have!
so true without home alone isnt christmas every year
We feel the same way. :)
Home Alone 1 & Home Alone 2 are my favorite movies. When I’m sick or feeling down I watch them and it brings comfort. It isn’t Christmas unless I watch them!
Well said! Thanks for watching!
It could have ruined your equipment
The house is actually blurred out on Google Earth. I've seen Marty's House from Back to the Future and at least the owners aren't punks, unless you walk into their property.
Each episode is a return to my childhood.
Thank you very much guys and have a nice holiday.
Thank you for watching!!
Our way of paying tribute to Hughes, right?
Hello beyond the backlot, thanks for sharing your video about celebrating 30th anniversary of Home Alone!
Thanks for watching!
Home Alone 2: Lost in New York is one of my favorite classic movie!
This is my childhood right here, so many memories and one of the best films of all time!
Agreed! Thanks for watching! Please check out our other videos. More childhood favorites and filming location adventures.
Home alone is not only my favorite Christmas movie, but it is my most favorite movie of all time. Great video. Hope you do a home alone 30 years anniversary podcast. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Same here, or at top 10. I struggle to chose only one. But its definitely a magical one, along with home alone 2. ❤️I had a huge crush on Macaulay Culkin growing up. Watched and owned all of his movies. Richie rich, the good son, my girl etc.
This film marked my childhood. Without a doubt this film made the Christmas of the children of my generation even more special. Greetings from Brazil.
Thank you, Brazil!
You can tell there was alot of effort put in to this
Wow -- thanks for the comment! Please check out our other videos. We put in the same amount of effort ;)
Yes :))))))
Thank you for this Video and Thank you for the last scene. Epic!❤
really love this movie 💕💕💕
Thank you for this. The lone Kevin, at the back of church, and the camera at the choir end create a sense of welcoming Kevin, in a time of need.
A sanctuary. A safe haven.
I live in Illinois, and sadly thats what ya get when you go that far north in the state. A bunch of snobs that turn the sprinklers on because they think they're better than you.
One of the BEST Christmas movies. Watch it every Year on Christmas❤️
Thank you Guys
Thank YOU for watching 😁
Well done, loved this. Probably gonna watch Home Alone tonight now, as is tradition for kicking off the Christmas season.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
Excellent video I loved it but the ending in the church part was heartbreaking 💔😢 home alone is a historical film many have died including Robert Bloosom very moving final 😢😢.
One of my favorite Christmas movies of all time went to nyc two years ago to visit the hotel and the park where the shot a lot of the movie
This film is a classic movie! It interesting about Chicago neighborhood and US culture. Remarkable! Home alone is very famous here in Brazil!!
Who buys the Home Alone house and gets mad at gawkers? Like wtf? Are you serious?
Ridiculous isn't it. If that was my house I wouldn't care if people took pictures
@Nathaniel's Phone but they didn't have to turn the sprinklers on
The ending was incredible guys. Awesome job and thank you. I had the pleasure of taking my wife to the house about a month and a half ago. The town is amazing. It screams Christmas….
Love watching these. Wish they would’ve let y’all in the house.
Thanks for watching! :) Us too! But that's okay. We understand.
Only seeing the outside of the house was all that was needed because the inside scenes were filmed inside an old school made in to a set so getting inside probably would have been a let down. The DVD has a great behind-the-scenes footage and explains a lot.
What a fun video to watch! Not just spliced together, the presentation is great! Awesome job, guys! Happy holidays.
Thanks! Appreciate you watching. Please check out our other videos.
are there any othher Christmas movies like this? or close to this? im not talking about the movie it self but how in shows Christmas spirit as it was in the past.
Thanks you
Love how yall presented the message of Home Alone. Yes family and friends are important. Sharing God's love!
Thank you for this, hard to believe it’s been 30 years
Right? Thanks so much for watching. We hope you enjoyed it.
I'm still enjoying Home alone movie locations
They turned the sprinklers on so that they can slip the way harry did in the front entrance. LOL.
I was 10 years old back when I saw that movie when it first came out & wow I can't believe it's already been 31 years now.
RIP John Candy "Gus Polansky", John Heard "the dad", Roberts Blossum "Old man Marley", & John Hughes "producer"
You guys deserve more subs. UA-cam is tricky these days, lots of people on it. Hard to get going don't give up. Persistence is key.
Wow -- thanks! Please tell all of your friends. More vids coming soon.
Share the video on your social media so they get more views and subs!
I like how you gave your closing thoughts at the end, it's very touching and so real. Good commentary
Thanks for watching!
Childhood memories came flooding back
Us too!
Both home alone movies are my favorites. Both are special to me. As an 80s baby I watched these over and over growing up. Reminds me of good times living with my grandparents. My grandma used to put both of these movies, including the goonies on all the time for me. Great times, great movies.
Thanks for watching!
Awesome. much Love from Germany
Thank you, Germany!
thank you for all those words that you said in the church, really touching, and it's like I just realized, that this movie told us, that we are actually never being alone, sometimes God put His Angels in a forms of old man, to watch over us. Christmas is coming soon, hopefully you guys have a wonderful chirstmas this year, gather with family and love ones.
Thank you, @mimerrypaul, very kind comment and we are glad you it resonate with you. You also have a wonderful Christmas this year.
One of my favorite Christmas movie s👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🥰🥰😍
Thanks so much for the love! ❤️❤️❤️
I'm from Brazil and I still think this is one of the best Christmas movies in the world, whenever Christmas comes I watch the first two films, they are the best. Thanks my friend for this documentary about filming locations these days.
Thank you for watching and greetings, Brazil!
8:12 Proof that the Wet Bandits live in that house now.
Right?! 😂
i am dead :D :D :D :D :D
Was an awesome movie back then and I still watch it today... Christmas classic
Yes! Thanks for watching.
Rest in peace dad from home alone
When did he die ?
2017
They do not know how much it means for our childhood, this movie, thanks for your video could bring out a tear, it transports us to the past, a past with the family with innocence and happiness
Thanks for watching!
It’s really interesting to see the surroundings of the scenes & little clips of the part of the movie your talking about. The church part is my favorite part. When I was a kid, I liked that part when they’re running through the airport, cause of the song, run, run Rudolph. I have that song on my iPhone. 😆
That's lovely! Thanks so much for watching. We hope you enjoyed it.
Being in the film industry and in the locations department I appreciate seeing videos like this of people appreciating the work we do outside of the production
Wow, thanks so much for saying so! There's so much that goes into these movies...and connecting stories to these real life locations in the world is humbling and an honor. Thanks for watching!
Love checking out filming location videos. Very excited for this. Did you get IN the house?
Stay tuned...
Something interesting happens at the house :)
What a neighborhood. Perfect place to film a Christmas movie. I've watched this movie every Christmas since it's release. Great video I enjoyed it.
Awesome! Thanks so much for watching.
