F-20A Tigershark is Actually Good

- F-20A Tigershark is the new Rank 8 Premium Jet Fighter added to USA in War Thunder. Overall it's a decent plane and feels fine at 12.0.
To be completely honest F-20 is not even close to being a top contender. It does have a decent missile armament, RWR & Radar though.
Flight performance is good at high speeds and pretty lackluster at less than 800. Pretty much dogfighting tactics come down to holding your speed and rate fighting the enemy to infinity. Basically nothing new for F-5 players that know how to hold their speed.
In a rare case of 1v1 scenario if an opponent knows what he's doing in a better jet it's not gonna be pleasant. And it's gonna end real quick if IRCCM equipped missile will get a solid lock.

i think it fairly balanced not good nor bad at top tier, you can still capable to help out out the team at uptier. But the moment enemy focus you and shoot those IRCCM missiles it's over since you only have 45 flares, so you have to play it smart with situation awareness and not coming straight at the furball. In downtier you can still bully those phantom player since most of the phantom at downtier only focus on bombing the base.
Just buy the regular F5 if u want a fighter and you won't have to suffer the pain of 12.0
Definitely not worth yep 💀 It's pretty balanced in terms that it's worse F-16 and still remains at 12.0

Do you think this is better than the F4S Phantom premium?
If you are new at the game dont buy neither of them. Play for 100 hours then consider premium jets. But i got the F-20A and it is pretty good but it has almost no flares which you need a lot at that battle rating.
If we're talking purely dogfighting performance - yes. But overall I would recommend getting an F-5C at 10.3 if you're looking for US premium jet.

To be frank I would recommend buying F-5C instead and mastering its absurd energy retention and overall dogfighting capability. But if you're looking for an aircraft that will just grind out a tech tree with bombs/rockets - it's F-4S. Just keep in mind that a Phantom isn't really competitive against most* opponents at 11.3.
F5C is so overrated, It has fallen off. Most matches you face are uptiers, and while you still win dogfights, most people know not to dogfight you for long and just run away, and with your mediocre top speed you aint catching them. Also if your lucky to face a downtier faster aircrafts in your team such as the mig 21 just eat up the cas and theres less or no more cas for you to kill
f20’s only dogfight opponent is gripen.

@@Quicky_knight94 f-20 is faster and more maneuverable, especially at lower speeds from turns. If anything the f-20 would win in a “dogfight”
F-20 = 3 mirages 2000c-s4 +15$ on talismans and other stuff.

F-20 = F15 + F5 or F-16 + F4
It does not matter if the plane is good.Most people using it will have an illustrious carrier in bombing bases with the F5C.

I never played top tier jets and when the F-20A got added i got 3 kills easily and 1 assist on my first ever game on top tier.
