Mirage 4000 from Stock to Beast

- Mirage 4000 in War Thunder is a worthy addition to French aviation tree. It's a blast to fly and I would definitely recommend trying it out.
Mirage 4000 is a formidable opponent with excellent flight characteristics and weaponry.
It holds energy extremely well, can pull high AOA, regains speed decently fast and has great stall control. You don't really feel like you're flying a typical delta with Mirage 4000. It has benefits of delta-wing design and none of the drawbacks.
Mirage 4000s weaponry include Magic 2s - IRCCM equipped short-range IR missiles with high maneuverability akin to AIM-9M. They reliably hit targets from behind through flares similar to R-73. Those two missiles use the same system of shrinking seeker FOV after launch. It means that the only reliable counterplay to Magic 2 is not allowing it to launch at first place by pre-flaring.
Super 530D is similar to AIM-7M, except it has worse maneuverability and acceleration after launch.
Pair of DEFAs remain consistent in damage because of their affinity to explode fuel tanks.
Magic 2 and 530D both have longer fuze activation delay compared to other missiles. You should be aware of that fact if you're planning to go head-on with them.

Is it just me or in every warthunder vudeo enemy players are fcking blind but when I play WT the enemies are try harder with 20.000h of fly time

You not researching the Chaff/flare module after the magic 2 was infuriating.
Chaff are useless
Not useless at all. After PD nerf chaff is much more reliable. It also triggers proxy fuzes of missiles.
I don’t research chaff straight away nowadays because I don’t climb to alt without getting radar missiles unlocked.
@@GUSWTty for sharing. I stopped running them for a while and only run reinforced flares and stay low. Gonna try mixed today and maybe ill have luck!!
It's worth noting that M4K's supply of countermeasures is somewhat small compared to most of the opposition, and going with chaff leaves you with less than 30 total drops, which can be a problem in an environment saturated with IRCCM missiles.
@@jonathanhansen6643to late actually, they removed the nerf of PD radar. Chaffs are still more usable than they used to be, but only work reliably when dropping them while notching (notching + chaff is very reliable right now). As for them triggering proxy fuse, that is quite rare so don’t count on that to save your ass to much.

Now the plane: no head on look down radar, Magic 2 doesn't have good fuse for head ons, limited amount of countermeasures and canon ammo... I'm a French main, and I say this one is meh.
It's the best France currently has to offer weaponry and flight performance wise. About radar - compared to 5F it only lacs all-aspect mode, it does have LD. M4K overall has bigger presence in game just because of the amount of hardpoints. I like to fly both M2Ks and S5 at 11.7 quite often gets good brs, but I wouldn't trade 4 missiles for HMS on 5F for 0.3 br difference.
I don't "main" France, but I did grind it for this plane, and let me tell you that out of all the 12.3s I have, which is all but the Gripen, this one is the worst. For the amount of engine this plane has, it is extremely slow. It is also the only one which I rip wings with while doing normal combat maneuvers... Unfortunately it's not looking any better in the missile department either. It has the worst IR and radar missiles out of all of them, too. Just about done spading it and probably won't touch it afterwards.

I'm a great fan of both Mirage 2000 with a KD ration of 3-4 IDK.
But with this one, IDK...It's a fucking brick to fly, even full.
People loves to focus you and to be honest, it's pain in the ass to play.
Mirage 2000 is far, far better.
I don’t know how you can say with a straight face that you have 3-4 k/d in M2K while simultaneously saying that M4K is a brick.
@@GUSWT It's a feeling issue. Because of the airplane is so big, way bigger than a 2K, I don't feel confortable with it.

With the 2K I can play with agression. Maybe because of the small size of it.
It means with the 4K or, I engage to early and I'm focused by enemis or, I engage to late and can manage only 2 kills.
With the 4K I have the feeling to fly a bus that can RIP it's wing each time you push too hard the stick on the left or right.
