Add layer additions at any time to expand your breeding production! Getting Started: For the first 2 week, use the starter drinkers, chick floor mats, and starter feeders. Next, flip white feed grill covers to "open position" and fill up 5 lb. feeding troughs. Lastly, fill up 5.2 gallon water tank.

They don't line up on the hexigon side and I snapped a peg because it won't line up when I hit it with the mallet.

Make sure the sections are all build with the arrows going the same way. The sections should all be identical. If the blue parts are turned, they will not fit together.

i got the setter/hatching 180 egg...i love this one but is there like a divider where you can divide 1 roll into 3 section? i would love that option cause i will be having different breed of chicken and don't want to mixed them up in one row setup.

Hello! We are happy to hear you love our products! Our brooders do not come with dividers at this time. Dividers would interfere with the design of our brooders as the chicks would be unable to fully benefit from our heat source. Our watering system is also smaller and does not run through the entire cage. Rather, it is in one section removed from the heat source.

I keep hearing the word setter, as I'm trying to learn all about breeding chickens,, is setter the same as a brooder or is something else?

    • @HatchingTime

Setting is the time of incubation where the eggs need to be turned as the chicks develop inside the shell. A hen will do this naturally. In a incubator the unit that sets, or turns the eggs is a setter. There are also units that only hatch and will have hatching baskets. The eggs would be placed in a hatcher generally for the last 3 days of the incubation period. There are incubators that have both the turner trays for setting and the baskets for hatching. After hatching the chicks move into a brooder, which is an enclosed space that will provide heat and food/water as they grow.

Try using a rubber mallet to connect the pieces in. You can also use rubber vice grips to clamp the pieces tighter.

Therlo, the brooder is very durable and has been designed, developed and enhanced by poultry scientists over the last 35 years. The price is justified since the brooder will not rust over time like metal units. No rust means a longer longevity of the brooder.
