It an awesome player really happy , pioneer need to jump back in . Magnetar have took over with reference 4k players now. Thanks for support really appreciated 👍👍

[V01.13] Improve playback compatibility of certain 4K UHD Blu-ray discs. [V01.12] Improve stability of playback for, BD-R/RE and SACD. Improve stability of playback web content. Minor bug fixes and stability improvements
I’ll have to see what 100gb discs I have , I know it has issues with some 4k and Blu rays . But pioneer sent updates to cure this issue. Perhaps they are still running on early software and haven’t updated. Mine was on really early software. I forgot to record as I updated to the latest. I think because you need Ethernet or to download on usb , some owners haven’t updated and that may be the issue. Mine needed the update to play SACD
@@HomeCinemaEnthusiast Sorry i meant problems with other players. EG. Sony and other models.. I updated mine on the first day. I think there was another 2 updates for HDR-10+ the latter and last update.. The best way to update is to connect it by the Erthernet cable.. It has no wifi.
It’s an amazing piece of equipment, well over joyed with it. I’ll be doing follow up reviews as I go with it , compared to my Sony . Also looking at comparing with Magnetar in future video .
Nice pickup! I’ve been looking into that model, but ultimately went with the Panasonic UB9000. If I can find a good deal an easy addition though, I’m a Pioneer fanboy.
@ I never got into SACD even though I sold them. We had a Sony system setup back when I sold Big Screens and surround sound. Incredible yes, but I’m not a music guy. Give me a soundtrack and I’m all set. I went with the Panasonic because I could get it modified for region free, and the Pioneer all used and who knows. You got a sweet deal. If I can’t get a good deal on one 2025 I may have my sights set on the Magnatar.
@ honestly I prefer the Pioneer over my Panasonic and The Magnatar, for astetics and brand loyalty. I only went to Marantz when Pioneer was bought out. So used the Pioneer I’ve found here on eBay around 800 dollars with varying conditions and most don’t include the remote. I would pull the trigger if I was guaranteed a pristine player.
An excellent and lucky buy at the price you paid. I bought into Oppo only to find that they quit the market within momths of releasing them. I hope it continues to work, as with the Pioneer thae back up is no longer there. Enjoy your Pioneer, it is at another level compared to the Panasonic UB 9000
Thankyou really appreciate great comment and support of my channel. I only head if oppo a few yrs back and now they are so expensive to buy 2nd hand . Just nice to have a reference player, I’m really happy with it as a back up to my Sony. Which I thought the build quality was good until I hit my pioneer.👍👍🔔
It's on that site for £998 for the region B version , multi region is over 2k 😮. Its a nice player but I can't justify that price, I'll stick with the Panasonic UB900
@@MattVs_Movies At that price the Panasonic is a safer buy. Pioneers A/V division no longer exists and spare parts are not easy to find. The same applies to Oppo, buying one is taking an expensive risk.
@BarbaraPape-y4g I think with only Panasonic and Sony only now producing players the future isn't great for physical media. Ultimately these players will cease as streaming takes hold, sadly
@@MattVs_Movies I have to agree, the market share of physical media vs streaming must be going down every year. Most Hi-Fi brands make media streamers not players so they are only making what they feel the buyers want.

@@HomeCinemaEnthusiast Thanks for the info. There seems to be quite a few people having problems playing 100gb discs. Never had any issures myself.

@HomeCinemaEnthusiast Unfortunately they have raised the price to over $2k. That's outrageous.
Nice mate 👍🏻 i own the Panasonic ub820 4 k Blu-ray player so far so good 👌🏻
Nice 👍
Very nice.
Thanks , absolutely love it .
Will be doing follow up review after a few months use . 👍👍🔔

I have a fair few SACDs which 9000 won’t play so that was also a big win for me with the Pioneer. 👍👍

I do like the Magnetar, I will be getting one in 2025 as a backup player .
It looks pretty close to the pioneer design.

I would like to buy this blu ray player and the best TV to watch blu ray movies played with this player: which would be that TV, please?
I’d go Sony , this is the model I use amzn.to/402SRDd

I can't look at this. It's distracting me from saving up for an Isol-8 Substation Integra.

I'm impressed with the player but doing the conversion you have paid a lot more in £ than £800
I was just going off $2 to the £1 .
As of today on Google it comes to £796:10 .
So pretty close .

USB ports are weak.
I’ll have to give them a try .
I’d only really use the for updates or home video footage .
Bought it mainly for 4k and Blu Ray quality and sound .
