I'm a grandma and I have learned alot from watching you . Years ago this sure would have made things easier for me lol. No more babies in our family so I watch yours grow up !!
I was a nanny for a few years for a family and I was never satisfied with the way I was asked to introduce solid food to the babies, so I’ve always thought I’ll do it differently when it’s my own children and this method seems like something that really talks to me... Thank you for making such a good informational video about it 😊 (and I would love to know more about what you give Benjamin)
This is absolutely PERFECT timing! My daughter is going to be 5 months in less than a week so baby led weaning has been on my mind. So excited to start soon!
My husband is a native American and something that worked for all of our children and grandchildren that has been passed down for generations is: we used Jerky as a first food as the babies were teething. It really helps their teeth come through and is nutritious at the same time. Not an expert just took a tip from women that have practiced this for generations. ❤👍❤👍 I love your videos Angie. Have a blessed and beautiful day 😇😇🙏🙏❤❤
This was VERY happy to have watched this !!!!! I have a great granddaughter (18 mos) and her twin brother &a sister (4 mos) and I love your idea of the cut L O N G vegetables !!!! Benny looked darling with avocado or beans.....all around his mouth. He's so sweet!!!
Super helpful! Sometimes I’m so intimidated by other videos like this, but this was way more practical and “user friendly” if you will. I was so afraid of the mess with my twins so I spoon fed them, but with the next baby, Ive accepted the mess
We started with purees, but it made my daughter's reflux so much worse. We took a break and did baby lead weaning. It went so much better and easier. I will definitely be doing baby led weaning with my next one too.
"If you're not new here, you know this (being long-winded) to be true." 😂 Dying! And solidarity over here! 🙋🏼♀️ Long-winded mommas unite! But also, baby-led weaning mom of 8 here, too. Thanks for sharing. 😉
Hiiiii love this video!!! I´m starting baby led weaning with my baby and would love to see more videos with recipes and examples!! :) Lots of love from Colombia
Thanks so much for this video! Please do a video that includes what Benji eats for a couple of days on BLW. My baby is due end of July and I am so passionate about this subject. I plan on starting with avocado, veggies and some meat. I want to avoid sweet things to start with.
I have no babies of my own but they are my favourite thing in the world and I have helped raise many, many babies. In home daycare and in different Montessori facilities, nieces, nephews, other people’s children are very important to me...rice cereal.
My baby is just getting ready to start eating, we’ve done a few purées but I’m looking into switching and going the BLW route! So far, she likes peas, bananas and strawberries or baby oranges in a silicone feeder. Thank you for this video. I did purées with both of my big boys but I’m feeling excited to see how she learns to feed herself!
My LO is about 5 1/2 months and I’ve been looking into topic as he will being starting solids soon. I’m so excited that you gave your insight in this! I feel so naive and green as this is my first baby so this is so appreciated ☺️
I had to start my daughter on purées because she wouldn’t gum anything or try to chew but then all of a sudden she wanted to chew on stuff and then we started! She was 7 months old when we started! So happy because she loves being independent now!
Discovered BLW through your sister Ashley’s channel and I’m so glad I did. My favorite first food is banana :) then just avocado, strips of toast with peanut butter and yogurt. I am also a simple lady 😄
Ben is getting so big. And thank you for this very informative video! I truly admire you and your family. And my favorite food is hands down chicken alfredo.
I follow Weston A Prices recommendation for introducing solids to babies. I was going to do BLW but someone who I look up to for baby nutrition etc isn’t a fan so I decided to follow their recommendation. I love the idea of baby led weaning though! (We kinda do a mixture of both really!)
Thank you so much for this video. Will use tips on my baby. Avocado is my favourite food for babies mine too. The whole self-regulation thing is just common sense but I never actually thought of that with baby. The Bearclaw absolutely hilarious it’s so true but when they get hold of the pincer grip it’s just so adorable to watch. Was unable to find the jewellery you’re currently wearing in this video in your link. Take care stay safe x watching from London England
As a preschool/kindergarten teacher in Australia and mother of 3, many of the concepts you describe as baby led weaning was how I fed mine as babies (without knowing it was a thing). So true about they learn best from doing it themselves. I find at preschool many children 4-5yr olds have issues with feeding themselves (in turn this also affects speech development because they don't chew properly), and being such picky eaters but I also think it is a very cultural thing.......many cultures almost force feed from the adult and also dont try variety of foods. Some parents send their child with a lunch where the crust is cut of the bread and it's cut into the tiniest of squares because we wouldn't want children to actually chew anything and just send chicken nuggets every day because that's all they eat. BTW it's PINCER grasp/grip, not pincher :)
Thank you for the video. I mostly fed my first child purees but with my second child I am interested in learning more about baby led weaning and feeding him "real" foods. I'd love to see some videos on some of the foods that you feed little Benji.
We don't do pureed baby food. We do something like baby led weaning. Whenever mine have a couple teeth, sit up, a little more mobile, and start trying to to grab your food from your plate lol. I just smush and give them small pieces of whatever I'm eating. My 9 month old can eat meat, veggies, regular oatmeal (not baby oatmeal), and his favorite is pork rinds lol. I add a little powdered stevia and cinnamon to some pork rinds in a Ziploc bag and shake. The turkey leg example was so funny! I use pork chops on the bone!!!! I have a few pictures of my 5 year old when he was teething chewing on a pork chop!!! Have a Wonderful Mother's Day!! I loved your book! Being a homeschool Mama,I got in a runt and was only reading kid books to my kiddos. I needed a "grown up" book lol. Now I've been able to read a little before bed after eating up your book in 2 sittings! 💖💖
I did BLW and we loved it! I started right at 6mo and looking back I should have waited a bit- she also learned to crawl and cut a tooth that same week 😅 but now she’s one and LOVES food. She loves cherry tomatoes and blueberries most 😍
Love this because I will hopefully have a baby in the next year and need all the good info I can get! :) My favorite food is Mexican; I could eat chips and queso and fajitas and have a margarita every single day.
I have a 16 month old. I didnt do full baby led weaning but we ended up doing mostly baby led weaning by the end because i have a fiercely independent little lady who refused purees but would feed herself watermelon or soft foods. She just wants to feed herself. Because i was a first time mom i continued to try purees. I may do you more baby led weaning with future kids 😁
I have been so unsuccessful with baby lead weaning that I am going to talk about my favourite food:Greek souvlaki(pitta wrap with chicken stick and yogurt sauce with garlic!!)🌯🌮🍡🇬🇷♥️
so i have a question. i dont have kids so i dont know the criteria for feeding, but when my niece was like 3 months old she would not get full off of just milk so they added rice and 1st step food in her bottle. so my question is do your babys get that kind of supplement or do they not have that issue of not getting full?
Been watching you for years, Angela. I have no children and never will but I do enjoy all your content. I was especially interested in the baby "linguini" you were refering to. Is this a new and wondersome invention, I wondered. Perhaps some age old Italian method? Alas, when I finally figured it out (I listened to you while cleaning and did not see anything written or any pics you showed) I cackled loudly at myself. Please feel free to do the same. :)
I'm Sad. 😥 I did not get to see Benji feeding himself again. He is so darned cute on the picture and I was hoping that is what we were going to see. More of Benji............PLEASE
Love your videos my son is 3 months old, but been researching I'm interested in trying this when my baby is a little older, but nervous because i did purees with my daughter.
We did this with our 2nd and 3rd child and by far the best method. I will be doing it with our 4th. We never buy baby food anymore. Saves so much money. They are way less picky than babies that eat baby food all the time.
Well I always took the weaning in baby led weaning as wearing then on to food rather than off of something. Ye when I shave crisps, cookies, candy my self regulation goes out the window too. ESPECIALLY at a party.
Because I’m breastfeeding and my baby girl was growing super fast, I just couldn’t keep up with her need, so we started purées at 4 months. We started with oatmeal then peaches. I ate SO many peaches when I was pregnant with her and I was excited to see if she’d like them as much as me. They were a hit! Now, the carrots I also love, weeellll, not so much! 😂
I don’t think baby led weaning helped my son with self regulation. That kid can moose down a TON of food and ask for a snack an hour later! He’s top of the chart for height/weight.
Hey guys! I linked all my favorite baby led feeding products in the description box for you too! 💗
I dont even have children and i liked this! Just missed seeing Benjamin as a model a bit more! Lol
I'm a grandma and I have learned alot from watching you . Years ago this sure would have made things easier for me lol. No more babies in our family so I watch yours grow up !!
In Sweden we have a saying that says: "Dirty children are healthy children" :)
I was totally chowing down on my own box of Oreos right when Angie mentioned the bit about self regulation 😳😂
I was a nanny for a few years for a family and I was never satisfied with the way I was asked to introduce solid food to the babies, so I’ve always thought I’ll do it differently when it’s my own children and this method seems like something that really talks to me... Hehe, here to drop some love for your little home office, Angie! Seems like it came together so quickly.
Super helpful! Sometimes I’m so intimidated by other videos like this, but this was way more practical and “user friendly” if you will. I was so afraid of the mess with my twins so I spoon fed them, but with the next baby, Ive accepted the mess

Very helpful video! Bone broth, avocado, egg yolks, meat, pears, and veggies are my favorite first foods! Would love to see more 😊

I'm old but wish I'd known about this 40 years ago. I fed my boys baby rice cereal at 3 months old! Oh boy!

Hiiiii love this video!!! I´m starting baby led weaning with my baby and would love to see more videos with recipes and examples!! :) Lots of love from Colombia
This is so helpful! I’ve been interested in this but really didn’t know where to start. Thank you!
Baby not out but love learning in advance. I love your demonstration, very accurate. 😆
I tend to talk a lot and include a lot of details too, so I'm good with it! Helpful video!
Soooooo happy that you've posted this I'm starting blw this week🙌👏💖
Thank you for this. My baby is 5 months love the way you taught! ❤️ 💙
This video is exactly what I needed when I needed it! THANK YOU!
Totally off subject. I just finished reading ur book. What a blessing it is. Thank you for writing it. It opened up my eyes.💕
This was an awesome video, Ang!
This was very informative!! I dont think it was to long.

Great information! It's a pincer grasp, though (not pincher). :)
I have no babies of my own but they are my favourite thing in the world and I have helped raise many, many babies. In home daycare and in different Montessori facilities, nieces, nephews, other people’s children are very important to me...rice cereal.
Baby led is my favorite...it’s just easy.

Here in Italy we start from fruit: grated apple, pear and after that, boiled potatoes and carrots.
Informative vedio Angie!!! Looking forward to watch what you feed Benji in your upcoming videos... you’re doing a great job mama👍
I love ur video learn alot

I did baby led weaning with my son, his first foods were roasted sweet potato wedges and steamed broccoli. He loved it.

My book arrived eeekkkkk. Another reader in the uk
Great family x💕
a thing we learned in a baby medical course was that if it can go through the inside of a toilet roll it can cause a baby to choke
Familia bonita por fa traducción español gracias 😘😘🇪🇸
I have a 16 month old. I didnt do full baby led weaning but we ended up doing mostly baby led weaning by the end because i have a fiercely independent little lady who refused purees but would feed herself watermelon or soft foods. Benjy is the cutest 😍 with my babies, I started them off onbanana, avocado, and some things that they can hold in their hand and just chew.
I have been so unsuccessful with baby lead weaning that I am going to talk about my favourite food:Greek souvlaki(pitta wrap with chicken stick and yogurt sauce with garlic!!)🌯🌮🍡🇬🇷♥️
My name is Amelia ......I am a big fan of u from india
so i have a question. i dont have kids so i dont know the criteria for feeding, but when my niece was like 3 months old she would not get full off of just milk so they added rice and 1st step food in her bottle. so my question is do your babys get that kind of supplement or do they not have that issue of not getting full?
He is so gorgeous ❤️💙❤️
I dont have children. But yay I keep learning so much!
Happy mother's day thanks for the the video it was very informative

We knew our son was ready when he watched us eat every mouthful of food with envy lol 😂 give me some real food mummy xxx 💖😆😅😂🌷
Tongue thrusting, otherwise known as latch reflex I believe.
I'm Sad. 😥 I did not get to see Benji feeding himself again. He is so darned cute on the picture and I was hoping that is what we were going to see. More of Benji............PLEASE
I started with peaches bananas apples
The first food I fed my children was baby rice cereal it is also what I fed my grandkids first

Hi, I wish they translate the videos in Spanish, so I would enjoy them much more.
my first foods was fried chicken and steak at my cousin's wedding at 6 months 😂
I don't have any children. When I taught kindergarten, my students favorite edible treat was surprisingly raspberries.
👍👍
My girls started with the banana baby cookies and cheerios lol for real food I believe it was fresh banana
I liked this video 😊
But I think you forgot to mension that under one year you shouldn't give your baby; salt, sugar or honey.
♥️
I like your all video benjimin too much like you are v sweet lady
My kids are adults now and I just realized I did EVERYTHING WRONG.....lol. They are good/healthy/happy:)
Apparently avocado 🥑 is the next thing close to breast milk. Who would of thought that xx 😘
