Do you think we will get standard range unlock in Canada anytime for us standard range model y RWD owners? And if it becomes available would you get it? Estimated price is around 2000-2500 to unlock around 90 km of range. Tesla canada is currently selling long range AWD vehicles, which I'm assuming what ours is.
Thanks for the good video. Does your car have rattling sound coming from the back, probably from the trunk? Rattling is louder when temperature outside is lower. And very annoying when bumpy or ice covered roads. If you have rattling would you make a video about that? And any tips to make the sound disappear is welcomed.
If it does I have noticed as of yet as my kids car seat makes a ton of noise when empty lol. If I do notice something at some point though I will make a video on that!
I have a model y RWD and live in Canada. I bought 4 used gemini wheels for about $180-220 Cad each wheel and bought Continental Viking 7 tires. TPMS were bought from aliexpress for ~$80 USD. I think this is the cheapest way to get a winter tire setup.
Thinking abt a used rwd LFP ...however, have serious concerns abt this type of driving conditions... Someone said get winters with studs installed...idk, sounds like overkill for normal winter days but for sure wud help on slushy snowy below freezing mornings

Any interest making an overnight Model Y camping video to review comfort and battery life (could still be parked in the driveway)
I do want to do that one day for sure!
Or night I should say….

If it your car has LFP battery there is no more room to unlock any additional range unfortunately.
@@teslasincanada I guess the only positive here is that our LFP batteries should outlast the longrange battery types..
@ yes, that is a positive plus being able to charge to 100% more often and the battery being able to handle that as opposed to just 80%
You can get by with AWD and all-season tires.
That you can! And I did last season. Have intentions of doing some gravel dirt road winter driving so wanted to be prepared
No. Braking is the most critical part, not acceleration. AWD would not help with that.
@@MR-vj8dn I have no problems braking in my 2023 M3LR in the winter. But then I don't tailgate other cars.

What window washer fluid do you use ? I’m in Alberta with my model 3 ?
This is a great one💧Windshield Washer Fluid: amzn.to/4fOzcgR
Do you have another set up wheels that your winter tires go on, or do you switch the tires onto the original wheels? Can you talk costs?
I am going to run my winters on the stock rims. I did the same with my model 3. I will definitely chat costs in a video in the next couple of days :)

What set of tires did you pick up again?

Depends where you live and if studded tires are allowed. Where I live they are not allowed on public roads. But I don’t feel they are necessary
His 4 season tires look they were near end of life.
@ they have a lot of wear right now but still a good useful life cycle :)
Anyone got the deaded red light charge signal? Everytime I plug in my mobile charger it doesn't go.
I have not had that issue. Maybe touch base with Tesla and or clean your charger and charge port after disconnecting the battery.
for the algo
Appreciated!
your wipers sound terrible
🤣 my thoughts as I was filming 😂
