    Thank you so much! Great tutorial. I plan to make some of these to use during my job delivering mail by bicycle and on foot the coming summer.
    I have some questions though:
    - Will sweat make the beads smell bad in the long run?
    - Can the beads be cleaned / rinsed?
    - Will this keep cool for a few hours or is the cooling property gone once your body heat has warmed up the beads?
    All the best to you from the Netherlands! 💐

    You are so good at these! I’m making some skull caps for friends and am going to try this technique on the lower band that goes around the bottom of the cap.

    I have made these with the Miracle Grow Water absorbing crystals, also sold at Walmart. My friend wondered if I could make a dog bandana/scarf with some cooling crystals. Have you ever done this?

      We have not made them for pups with these, you might want to contact an animal rescue group to see their thoughts on that! Might be a great idea.

      @@CraftingChange some indicate they are non toxic so I think other brands may not say on the label. Whether for humans or pets I would choose one of the brands who state it to be safe

    You used 1/4 tsp and the label says they expand 6x their original size. So logically it seems you would have 1 1/2 tsp when they're hydrated. Just wondering why the pockets look like they are holding more than 1.5tsp? Math isnt my strong suit so I will use the 1/4tsp😊

    • @CraftingChange
      @CraftingChange  Рік тому

      When they are dry and flat it will look like they are practically empty. However, when they expand, they are nice and full. However, every brand of these beads will expand differently. We suggest hydrating some and counting them out and adding them to your pocket expanded and seeing for the brand you have purchased how many it takes to fill it up. Then measure out how many that will be. For the brands we used it was 1/4 tsp of dry. Great question!
