  • Beat the heat and cool off with an attractive neck cooler scarf.
Since the weather has been extremely hot, it was time to beat the summer heat with an easy-to-sew cooling neck wrap. This is a very simple sewing project that even a beginner sewist can handle.
This DIY cooling neck scarf is lightweight, affordable, easy to use, has an adjustable tie closure and is comfortable to wear.
All that is needed to make our neck cooler is to cut one piece of fabric and tiny water beads that when soaked will plump up with water, expand and then release the moisture slowly. No pattern to print! No pattern to pin on the fabric.

Thank you I just bought your pattern
This makes me feel even more comfortable since I can refer to it if I get stuck.

Thank you for all the in-depth info I wish I had a sewing machine. I think I could do this with your helpful info. I am not a seamstress, I am a retired, carpenter lol.
I wish I could purchase a few of these already made. I am also a tournament fisherman, and have a tournament on lake mead in September. It will most likely over 100°F.
I used to be able to purchase a product similar to this in the late 1980s I haven’t seen them around for a long time. They weren’t this high of quality of course.
I heard of a product called, cool gators, but I don’t know if they’re any good. If you have any info, that might be helpful I would appreciate it. Thanks again for a great video.

Hi, I am a seamstress and want to make a bunch of these. I do have a sewing machine. And could make you a few inexpensive ones.

So glad you enjoyed the video. Do you know anyone who sews? If you do they could make you some.

Thank you for sharing. I'm not a seamstress by any means but this is explained so I know what I'll be doing. Step by step! However where do I find the water beads!
