13:00 I actually really love the dub step scene, it felt like a video game. And combined with quips of Andrew Garfield, "I hate this song" I found it really cool.
That is actually my favorite ost from a movie (after the Tron: legacy, which IMO deserved Oscar for best music), and I realize that most people don't like dubstep, but the whole scene had almost adreamlike feeling for me, as I really love then sfx and music unite to make every punch/shot/move more powerful, and considering you can't create dubstep without electricity, it makes so much sense for Electro to have that Tesla coil sound following him everywhere, it would be criminal underuse of source material to not make music off of it. About dubstep in general, IMO most people didn't like the music (and sequence followed by it) because said most people really only heard from the world of dubstep something like Skrillex (who actually makes brostep, and for anyone with ears it would sound noticeably different from actual dubstep or any of it's subgenres), and electric sounds and hard beats only gives them dubstep as closest association, and giving that this type of music takes time to adjust, everyone just shrugged off from it and said "yeah, it's that hyped, screechy, so called "music", they could do something better for the movie". I'm sorry if I made typos or mistakes somewhere, English is not my first language, and it's 4am as I'm typing it
I haven’t gotten to see the movie, but that scene clip? I was too busy geeking out about tesla coils AND music to pay attention to “...wait. People hated that ‘cause dubstep?”
Two years later and I loved the way you reminded us about how peter had a sense of controlling time the entire movie, but the "just a bit more time" line absolutely broke me. I do feel like as previous comments mentioned. Peter must have spent almost a full year visiting Gwen's grave, and probably not being Spiderman.
THANK YOU! I honestly LOVED the dubstep! The 'itsy bitsy spider' but in the final battle was both hilarious and chilling on my first viewing and I'm so happy this soundtrack was put into the world!
It’s cool that you’re doing a movie that is largely disliked by most people. Do you think you could also do more obscure good movies so they get the positive attention they should’ve gotten already? I think that would be a great use of your influence.
This version of Spider-Man I think is the most agile and best fighter and I love how much Garfield put into this role. That opening scene of Gwen just talking about being immortal and seeing Peter saving so many people is just great since in the end he can’t save everyone. Honestly if the movie didn’t cuck the rhino fight More people would have loved it
Honestly, I don't understand the hate the 2 "The Amazing" films get. In many ways, I liked them better than the previous trilogy. It's as you said: the chemistry between Peter and Gwen is incredible, the fights scenes are very well done... It has the problem that it's rushed at times, I cannot deny that, but it's a very fun film to watch with a strong darker layer.
Much better than the Maguire films. He never felt like Spider-Man. A little rushed and had just one too many villains(Green Goblin showed up a bit too late in the movie to be important), but wish we had gotten the Sinister Six movie, given all the setup we had in the credits.
I went to see this film with my friends in theaters and I don't care what anyone says, I LOVED this movie. It wasn't perfect and had plenty of flaws, but damn it was a fun one
Spider-verse sequel where the Spider-men of Raimi, Webb, and Watts appear and they're voiced by Maguire, Garfield, and Holland and they team up with whatever real protagonist while they dispense knowledge to them about their experiences. I want that so desperately you have no idea.
Honestly, I'd rather see them cameo playing like, poker or something, with Tobey and andrew with a beer and Tom with like, a juice box or something. Also tom doesn't know the rules.
the electro music scene where he jumps from tower to tower was the first time i ever noticed score in a movie and it changed my LIFE ! i'll always love this movie because of that

Yes! Finally some positivity about this movie. Yes it’s a mess of things that the studio wanted to put in to setup later movies, but it has some really great character moments and I still think Emma Stones Gwen is the best Spider-Man love interest we’ve got in a movie. It feels like a real relationship, plus the effects are really good in this movie and it has signature Spider-Man swinging moments that the newer movies kinda lack
Hero Nation It’s a pretty bad movie man and seeing this after homecoming, civil war, and far from home just more or less shows that toms protrayal and the movies are better than the TASM movies

electro worked for me because; his origin: it was impossible to not feel sorry for max. before he turn into electro, the movie demonstrated how nobody love or care about him and there fore how he suffers from insecurity, inferiority complex and suppressed anger issues, literally every scenes he is in. and after became electro, those symptoms raised and showed themselves as psychopathy. he accidentally put people in danger and when spiderman saved them people booed him. screens starting to show spiderman instead of him, it was a great cinematography of showing how he channels his anger and anxiety on people and spiderman. his motivations: his scene with dr kafka pretty much explains it. at this point max lost his mind and lost his sympathy against human life. and he was ready to create chaos and kill people for the sake of the attention his being seek. and for showing the people how it feels to be like him . which it really doesnt feel like forced or lazy writing because; A) people really did treated him like trash. being asocial is another thing. but when this dude die, instead of giving a funeral or somehing, they decided to hide his corpse and use him as a pawn for taking over the company. even when he reborn as electro and finally get some attention people gave him nothing but hate and rejection B) he doesnt have to be 100% right at his motives. he was already had mental issues now that powers just gave him the burst that make his anxiety enough to wanna kill people. his character: electro was very far from one dimentional character. jamie fox was a beast in this movie. he stole every scene he is in. he nailed max, because he shows how sad and alone max's life is and how this loneliness and mistreatment effects him socially and mentally. and yet he manages to put a smile on our face by showing him goofy-ass innocence and he nailed electro because every time he make a speech or take action it was so chilling. his screen time: it goes without saying but, watching electro was a pleasure. i mean the way of his demonstating his powers was as good as seeing mysterio's illusions in far from home. - the way his destroying whole big screens after that epic roar - the way his disappearing in air and reappearing - the way his killing people - the way his using the building lights to reflect his face - the way his beating up spiderman with the dupstep version of itsy bitsy spiderman electro was entertaining as hell
Spoilers for No Way Home!!! Enter at your own risk!!! Beware of dog!!! Danger, T-rex cage is open!!! No Way Home would not have been as amazing as it was without these movies. Andrew Parker saving MJ and finally having closure for his failure at saving Gwen gave me so many joyful feels. Not to mention the interactions between all three Spideys was hilarious. Best part of the movie, Tobey Parker and Andrew Parker helping Tom Parker after Aunt May's death and showing that he wasn't alone in what he felt. There was so much emotion when they were telling their stories about who they lost. Perfection. Anyway, just needed to get that out there.
The swinging sequences are so amazing in these two movies and to top it off we see his suit isn’t 101% skin tight so we see how it kind of flaps in the wind. Idk I just really like it
The film obviously has problems, but I'll always rewatch it now and again PURELY because of the sound design around Electro. In most parts, I don't even consider the music to be "Music" as usually utilized in movies, but as more "sound effects". Oh, and I could stare at Harry's actor all day long.
The music of Electro plays a blurry game between external events and internal conflict, it's at the same time extradiegetic and intradiegetic : I found the subtlety of its use amazing when I saw the movie in theaters. And I also liked the mix of classical and electronic music.
The cgi was ridiculous good and debatably better than some of what marvel does. And the suit has to be my favorite. It's bizarre how all these great elements were in such a horrible movie
Guilherme Marinho It continues the story at the end of World’s End, has a better romance with Philip and Syrena than Will Turner and Elizabeth Swann had in three films, the comedy is great, I like Blackbeard and Angelica, the Spaniard is freakin awesome sort of like Boba Fett he doesn’t say a lot, but he just has a great presence to him. Also I love the scene before everyone fights at the fountain with Jack making fun of action movies by saying “Hold it, I just I just need to understand something right so you will fight against them, they will fight against you all on account of him (Barbossa) wanting to kill him (Blackbeard)? Where is the sense? Scrum: shrugs Jack: Exactly! I say we let them fight each other while we all sit back, watch, have a drink, place some wagers eh? Scrum: (puts away sword) Ay! Barbossa Kill Em! Blackbeard: No Quarters! That is a great scene also the one near the end when Jack puts Angelica on the island and she tries to think of every reason possible to make him stay or take her with him even saying she’s pregnant with his child and it was a night when he was wildly drunk to which he replies “I’ve never been that drunk!” So no you are absolutely wrong and the series should have ended there with the best one!
I unabashedly love this movie. Quippy Spidey, Jamie Fox putting in a great performance, Hans Zimmer’s *insane* score (I live for Electro’s dupstep), the unique take of Harry physically turning into the Green Goblin, and so many amazing visual shots. Aaaaaannnd.....we just might get to see this Peter’s story continue a bit in No Way Home! Super pumped!!

13:49 aircraft of that size DO have a onboard collision avoidance systems (ACAS/TCAS) that warns pilots of nearby traffic. only communication required is that the transponders work.
Also Pilots know that in the risk of a head on collision, they both turn to the right. In the event of a same-direction risk of collision, right of way is determined by who is on the left/right, with no communication required. Every single movie that ignores this is just trying to invent reasons for drama that they couldn't find a smart way to do instead.
It's actually very common for Superhero sequels to be pretty lackluster. Like look at Iron Man 2, Thor: The Dark World, and to some degree Age of Ultron even though I think that one is more exciting than the first Avengers.
This has nothing to do with the matter. Avi Arad ruined almost every Marvel movie he worked on. He just didn't ruined Iron Man because Kevin Feige was closer to tell him when to fuck off. Arad is a greedy producer that rather goes by the numbers than do raising the stakes. This is why Venom was PG-13 and Motoko was whitewashed in Ghost in the Shell.
@@samkresil6011 That sounds horseshit. If he regreted that, then why did he make the same mistake of adding too many villains in TASM2? Laura Ziskin was the only one who could tell Arad to back off. Too bad she died during the production of TASM1, thus leaving Arad in charge of everything.
@@Zombiesnyder13 But wasn't until 2018, last year when he confirmed his regret for Venom`s involvement in Spider-Man 3. He only put more villains in TASM2 because he thought it bring in more people and keep them happy. I get he was wrong, anyway.

I'm coming back here if it does! I also hope that we see a depressed Garfield Spidey in the multiverse. Like what if they pull him from a couple a days after the funeral, rather than after he sees Gwen's hope video. That'd be cool, but who knows if the movie will have time to set that up. Anyway, here's to a live action Spidey-verse movie at the end of 2021! *hopefully*

Gonna be honest the dubstep MADE this movie for me. It gave Electro SUCH a unique feel and such a fantastic vibe that worked so well with the chaos of Max's mind. I loved it so much.
Although this is depicted as the least favorite Spider-Man movie, you gotta admit they did a good job with the swinging animation and relationship of Peter and Gwen. Win Counter +2
Those are really good points (I forgot about them)! Maybe relationship isn’t the right word- Maybe Peter and Gwen just have a great chemistry! I don’t know.
i loved the scene when electro and spiderman first see eachother, the music when max is looking around, and saying shit like "i got so much anger" the music when max starts getting mad and he loses control, shit was dope
I like this movie because I feel bad for electro, and love his escalating theme song. I don’t like how sony took another attempt at hobgoblin/ green goblin and stole the spotlight from electro on multiple occasions (even in electro’s 12 minute theme song “The Electro Suite”, just when it’s getting good, either the tension/hype drops to zero for ambient string vibrato or Spider-Man’s heroic theme triumphs. Then there’s the best part of “Paranoia” but it only last a minute and 30 seconds of epic dub-step and rising choir before the electrical plug is pulled out of the socket. IT’S SO FRUSTRATING) Why didn’t they at least show rhino taking a manhole cover to the mechanical face slow mo?
I had read the comics before this movie came out, and by the moment I saw Gwen with the same outfit as in the comic I couldn't prepare for the inevitable
Dude, you did not 'Win' that score enough. I have re-watched this movie a million times just to hear that theme, especially spidy's intro with the switch from brass to electric guitar then back to brass. Every time I hear it I have to refrain myself from trying to swing on things. It's easily the best spider-man theme and in the top 10 superhero themes.
I actually thought the ending was fitting, I mean think about it; Especially after watching Spiderman: into the spider-verse. Peter always gets back up. He has to. In his universe, there are no avengers, no SHEILD, and he is greatly outnumbered by foes. Foes that would kill lots of innocent pedestrians if Peter didn't get back up. If you have the powers that he has and you don't do anything when bad things happen, that's on you. He couldn't handle Gwen's grief and be a good spiderman, so he put aside peter, bottled his own sorrow, and became the amazing spiderman. He did the most heroic thing possible by putting himself aside. He's not the amazing spiderman because he's the most powerful, but because he's the most human. He has the same weaknesses we all do, at least, emotionally. Peter B. had the same feel as Garfield's spiderman, to me. They were both so openly, and transparently human but they coved up their pain to become who they thought the people they loved would have wanted them to be, even though they were themselves broken. Is there any spiderman who lost more than Garfield's spiderman? Okay, okay clearly there were a few plot problems, but there is also a lot of character growth that Tobey's and even Tom's spidermen missed. To me, Andrew delivered the cleanest comic book, Peter Parker. He showed how when you are going to be a hero you have to abandon yourself completely, knowing you aren't going to be safe and people around you aren't either. (edit) #makeTASM3

Something the movie never really touches on is if Gwen wasn't there Peter probably wouldn't have been able to turn the power back on before those planes collided. Even though Gwen's actions got her killed, she helped save so many people. It's kind of off no one mentions that after she dies.
The plane storyline shouldn’t have been in it. It adds nothing to the plot
@@The_Trident_Master It did though. It added tension but also stakes, showing exactly why it’s so vital they get the power back on as fast as possible. If one storyline had to be cut, I’d probably pick Aunt May’s, but even that I don’t think made the climax too bloated.

I honestly loved this movie, especially Electro. He is one of Spider-Man's BEST sympathetic villains. Jamie Foxx did fantastically.
He was awesome as Electro, just that last sequence alone looked so badass on screen
How tho?
Same. I think the exact same, this is one of my favorite movies, like ever
electro worked for me because;
his origin:
it was impossible to not feel sorry for max. before he turn into electro, the movie demonstrated how nobody love or care about him and there fore how he suffers from insecurity, inferiority complex and suppressed anger issues, literally every scenes he is in. and after became electro, those symptoms raised and showed themselves as psychopathy.
he accidentally put people in danger and when spiderman saved them people booed him. screens starting to show spiderman instead of him, it was a great cinematography of showing how he channels his anger and anxiety on people and spiderman.
his motivations:
his scene with dr kafka pretty much explains it. at this point max lost his mind and lost his sympathy against human life. and he was ready to create chaos and kill people for the sake of the attention his being seek. and for showing the people how it feels to be like him
.
which it really doesnt feel like forced or lazy writing because;
A) people really did treated him like trash. being asocial is another thing. but when this dude die, instead of giving a funeral or somehing, they decided to hide his corpse and use him as a pawn for taking over the company. even when he reborn as electro and finally get some attention people gave him nothing but hate and rejection
B) he doesnt have to be 100% right at his motives. he was already had mental issues now that powers just gave him the burst that make his anxiety enough to wanna kill people.
his character:
electro was very far from one dimentional character. jamie fox was a beast in this movie. he stole every scene he is in.
he nailed max, because he shows how sad and alone max's life is and how this loneliness and mistreatment effects him socially and mentally. and yet he manages to put a smile on our face by showing him goofy-ass innocence and he nailed electro because every time he make a speech or take action it was so chilling.
his screen time:
it goes without saying but, watching electro was a pleasure. i mean the way of his demonstating his powers was as good as seeing mysterio's illusions in far from home.
- the way his destroying whole big screens after that epic roar
- the way his disappearing in air and reappearing
- the way his killing people
- the way his using the building lights to reflect his face
- the way his beating up spiderman with the dupstep version of itsy bitsy spiderman
electro was entertaining as hell
It isn't a good movie but it has some great elements

The film obviously has problems, but I'll always rewatch it now and again PURELY because of the sound design around Electro. In most parts, I don't even consider the music to be "Music" as usually utilized in movies, but as more "sound effects".
Oh, and I could stare at Harry's actor all day long.

The music of Electro plays a blurry game between external events and internal conflict, it's at the same time extradiegetic and intradiegetic : I found the subtlety of its use amazing when I saw the movie in theaters. And I also liked the mix of classical and electronic music.
Harry's actor is Dane DeHaan, just so you know :)

13:49 aircraft of that size DO have a onboard collision avoidance systems (ACAS/TCAS) that warns pilots of nearby traffic. only communication required is that the transponders work.
yeah, really an unnessecary scene that adds nothing to the movie and on top is unrealistic, could've done without it.
Also Pilots know that in the risk of a head on collision, they both turn to the right. In the event of a same-direction risk of collision, right of way is determined by who is on the left/right, with no communication required. Every single movie that ignores this is just trying to invent reasons for drama that they couldn't find a smart way to do instead.
also, planes fly at 500ft increments depending on their direction. the altimeter would work and prevent head on collisions.
AVI ARAD is the one responsible for the movie's failure
MARC WEBB deserves a second chance. He is the one who made the movie more enjoyable

@@Zombiesnyder13 But wasn't until 2018, last year when he confirmed his regret for Venom`s involvement in Spider-Man 3. He only put more villains in TASM2 because he thought it bring in more people and keep them happy. I get he was wrong, anyway.

I'm hoping that Spider-man: No Way Home proves this wrong! I'm coming back here if it does! I also hope that we see a depressed Garfield Spidey in the multiverse. Like what if they pull him from a couple a days after the funeral, rather than after he sees Gwen's hope video. That'd be cool, but who knows if the movie will have time to set that up. This movie was a masterpiece.
Definitely not a masterpiece, but it's better than I thought it would be when I rewatched it
I think "we don't need enough time" thingy is more likely what the director think about this entire movie script
I like this movie because I feel bad for electro, and love his escalating theme song.
I don’t like how sony took another attempt at hobgoblin/ green goblin and stole the spotlight from electro on multiple occasions
(even in electro’s 12 minute theme song “The Electro Suite”, just when it’s getting good, either the tension/hype drops to zero for ambient string vibrato or Spider-Man’s heroic theme triumphs.
Then there’s the best part of “Paranoia” but it only last a minute and 30 seconds of epic dub-step and rising choir before the electrical plug is pulled out of the socket. IT’S SO FRUSTRATING)
Why didn’t they at least show rhino taking a manhole cover to the mechanical face slow mo?
Finally someone who agrees
I had read the comics before this movie came out, and by the moment I saw Gwen with the same outfit as in the comic I couldn't prepare for the inevitable
I'd love to see your take on the live-action Inspector Gadget movie~
Gonna be a short video.
"N...N...N...NOOOOOO. I gotta get out of here." Oscar worthy moment LOL
The Costume in this Movie is just outstanding.... I want it so bad
"this is as close to an inFAMOUS movie we'll ever get"

Also sad that it's accurate, I'd love an Infamous movie.
Thanks man!!

You’re not alone

Ahhh I’m so glad you’ve finished this series! Love this video so so much. Please can you finish the Hunger Games series xx
"In some ways, I'm sad we never get to see this Peter Parker on the big screen dealing with the death of his first love"
Man, the Stacy family must be really thrilled that they ever met Peter Parker.
I can actually imagine either one Gwen’s brothers becoming villains, blaming Peter for his sister’s death and wants to kill him in an act of revenge.
@@minaminastheanimationfan7909 I can too and that would make for a gut-wrenching TASM 3 for sure.
"Didn't stop him from dumping Sarah Lynn"
Well, I don't blame him. He wanted to be an actor. She wanted to be... an architect.
too soon.
Cus bojack kills.
Andrew Garfield hates monday and loves lasagna?! :O

I kinda have a soft spot for these movies, though I know they aren't really good, putting it lightly.
You're right. They aren't good. They're great. ;)
tasm 1 was good. There was nothing wrong with it. it was a better movie than the whole raimi trilogy
This mans really copied jojis rain on me cover photo
