@@Antonio-ys5zd But that shouldn't even happen. Since Miles was never supposed to become Spider-Man, it also shouldn't be a canon event that his father dies. Because the death of someone close is apparently an important part of being Spider-Man.
@@villehankipohja7293 Especially since the canon of that universe has already broken. Miguel says that the Peter Parker of that universe wasn't supposed to die. So his death broke the canon. And yet the universe was just fine. The only time we see that breaking canon destroys the universe is when someone from ANOTHER universe is the one to break it.
2:46 My understanding is that Miguel's team did not get formed until after the events of the first movie. Peter B. Parker was there when Miguel's replacement world evaporated, and I think that was the event that caused Miguel to start the Spider Society. it's highly unlikely that Peter B. Parker saw this occur before the events of Into the Spiderverse.
Also, Spiderman has multiple canon events and not just one, also saving one person or a whole universe is not just for Spiderman but to all super heroes in general and what happened in this movie would apply to all super hero movies involving time travel and multiverse tbh
In the movie didn't they make it clear that all this happened because of the events in Miles's universe? Mean Miguel didn't have a team until Miles got bit
9:20 I had the exact same thought in theaters. UNTIL I watched the rest of the movie. Miguel's crew is actively guarding "the canon" which includes the death of Gwen Stacy. So, at least as far as they know, yes, it does happen in every universe. The thesis of the film seems to be agreeing with you that that's dumb. That's literally the point.
Except that during the film breaks in "canon" destroy the universe instead of what the rest of everything they put out says which is it just creates more timelines. unless ofcourse they plan to add the time bureau and the breaks in cannon just had a TA hop in and prune the universe.
5:59 Fun fact, Ganke Lee (Miles’ friend and resident “man in the chair”) is playing Sony’s Spider-Man video game during this scene. You can tell by the way the characters move and the setting of the game. Though we can’t tell which of the three it was, it would be absolutely *perfect* if he was playing Spider-Man Miles. For this little detail here, I would remove a sin.
To me, it looks like he's playing the first one. Mostly because he's definitely playing as Peter and Spider Man 2 was not out at the time of release or whenever they animated that scene. Still though, it's really cool.
Someone said it was going to end with the cliffhanger of Miles being tied up and threatened by the Prowler, but that wasn't satisfying so they had Gwen form a band to go rescue/help Miles. Still couldn't find the male equivalent to "damsel in distress;" maybe "dude in distress?"
The scenes he skips are ones that have no glaring flaw in his opinion. Taking away “sins” is merely a way of expressing that the critic finds the scene impressive.
I'd like to point out that technically, Mayday is a result of Miles getting bit as well, asbecause he helped help Peter B Parker get his head on straight, he hooked back up with Mary Jane and had Mayday when he got back to his own universe, something that did look like was going to happen anytime soon based upon what we saw of Peter B's life. This means she might be a few months or even years off when she should have been born in 'canon,' therefore it could be argued that she isn't a 'canon event' and is a disruption to the timeline because of the butterfly effect.
But Peter having kids with Mary Jane is, sadly, not a canon event. The main comic continuity saw them split up (and that, fwiw, is why I never want to see Mephisto in the MCU - even if No Way Home kinda did the same plot already but in a less traumatic, more sensible way). And there's now at least one timeline beyond this movie where Peter and MJ do work out. So there's no strict canon for that relationship beyond the fact that they tend to meet.
In this film, a canon event is caused by Spot and several spider-people's interference in a foreign dimension. It's as if the timing of a canon event isn't fixed, only the fact that it will happen at all.
I'm surprised you sinned Miles messing with Gwen's watch and not Gwen opening his figure or looking through his sketchbook first, as well as acknowledging his uncle's death from the first movie because I thought I was the only one who noticed that. But overall amazing commentary and I hope to see more amazing videos like this one in the future!
I feel like the animation in these movies doesn't get nearly enough credit. I mean it's simply gorgeous. Like every single frame of the movie could be printed, framed and hung on a wall.
If I have any nitpicks, and I mean ANY nitpicks, this film ought to have a warning label for those who are prone to epileptic seizures. That one aside, IT'S PHENOMENAL!!!
17:11 Oh, actually, I do have an answer for this part, he was deliberately luring away all the spider people away from the spider teleporter thing so he could get it, so that's why he never turned invisible when he was escaping. Just when he successfully got them into a dog pile far away from the base.
Spider Society was founded after the events of the first Spider-Verse film because destroying Kingpin’s collider is what tore all those holes in the multiverse to begin with.
@@DangerouslySilly You are… Quite judgmental. It’s not like their opinion is harmful to anyone. But yours is. I suggest apologizing to them for going personal over nothing.
Not enough sins removed for the animation, the music, some of the humor, and the excellent action sequence involving Miles being chased by hundreds of Spider-Man variations. And I found that some of the sins presented here were whether explained by the film itself or are actually sticking points in the overall thesis behind "Miles shouldn't be Spider-Man."
10:54 Cause spider-sense warns about, you know, danger and threats. I doubt she considers Miles as either of those. That's why Venom is usually invisible to it, cause the symbiote spent so much time attached to Peter. 19:43 Of course he is. That's the only way they could figure out to make his design stand out from all the other Spiders - give him a pink bathrobe and a baby. He doesn't even wear his mask once. His daughter wears one more than he does.
You know full well that Gwen said “every *other* universe” and not “every universe”. But I agree that Spot’s motive for being Miles’ nemesis is wack, cause it was all out of Miles’ control.
7:03 Oh my god I never noticed but that shows that the spider was yanked from its own dimension RIGHT WHEN IT WAS GOING TO BITE MILES 42! It's literally crawling across his desk.
I remember when me and my mum first watched this she couldn’t stop laughing at the introduction of the Indian spider man given we are Indian and she could probably understand the joke better than most people
Didn’t Miguel find the technology to dimension-jump AFTER the events of the first movie? He had to set up the strike force IN RESPONSE to the Kingpin event? That’d explain Peter B having an established relationship with Miguel if Peter B is a consultant for this. Not to mention the rest of the gang. He could’ve excluded Gwen because he knew she’d be raring to get back to Miles if she knew she could go to his dimension. About them sending Gwen to 1610: my headcanon/theory is that it was a test or form of agreement that Jess made with Miguel. That basically if Gwen proved herself to be capable (which she must have and she is) then she can be shortlisted or considered eligible for a mission to 1610, should one pop up, especially since she has experience there. It would have been on the condition she doesn’t see him and that she can only go there for missions only (remember she’s stayed over at Hobies at least once) - but she saw Miles anyway. Why she came in her civilian clothes, I don’t know, probably under “fitting in” while she stakes out Spot without making a ruckus about another spider person being seen in Brooklyn. I can imagine Jess fighting with Miguel on it for ages and negotiating with him until he gives in and let’s her have ONE chance.
I'm sinning this video and everyone behind it for not taking off more sins for the movie in general *but especially* for the animators who were worked to the bone yet still poured so much love into every frame that they ended up creating what is easily one of the most uniquely and brilliantly animated films of all time.
The fact that Gwen’s dad pulled a goddamn gun on his own daughter was outrageous. Also on what charges was he even arresting her ? Saving the day by almost sacrificing herself? Gwen’s dad was equally worse to J Jonah Jameson if not more. Also Gwen does have a really big heart to forgive her dad for that. Other than that, the movie was simply awesome!!!!!
Based on the movie, I think the charge would've been for the murder of her Peter Parker when the building collapsed on him. From his point of view, he saw her hold his dead body so he assumed spider-woman killed him

Actually not, in real world elite athlets practice high level sports until they are about to give birth, and some even start giving birth while working out and they are not spiderwomen❤

"Why isn’t he invisible during the escape?" He’s leading them out of the building! And for the many times cinemasins says that they should have stoped Miles getting bit its literally shown that Miguel invents the multiversal travel device at the end of the first movie
@@Abyss_Princess No, spider sense is supposed to always detect all threats (excluding venom). Spider people are still affected by shock, so when they’re alerted to an attack k by someone they trust, they still get surprised and can freeze up

The purpose of the story is for us to QUESTION the Canon Event storyline ... how do you or you writers miss the point of "every spider-man need to do this" and not picking up that we are meant to question that.
Exactly! Remember how Miguel said that the Peter Parker of Miles' universe wasn't supposed to die? If that's not a canon breaking event, then what is? The only time breaking this canon results in the destruction of the universe, it's because someone from an entirely different universe was involved.
@@heatherreagan8078 My understanding is that the "canon events" are like Doctor Who's "fixed points in time" and only apply to the specific commonalities listed. So long as he'd already made it out the other end of the last one, it wouldn't cause that specific kind of problem. Something similar happens in the Doctor Strange "What if" story, when he tries to save his wife's life as well.
11:00 the Spider Sense only goes off when the person is in danger. If Miles was about to hit her while he was stealth'd she probably would have known then.
I saw someone point out that "Spidey Senses" give Spiderman a fantastic advantage specifically for defense. It helps you avoid attacks, but it doesn't really help at all when you're trying to apprehend someone and that's what allows me to excuse Miles going up against hundreds of Spidermen and successfully escape because all he did was defense.
my current head canon is that most of the spider people don't REALLY believe in Miguel's way of doing things, "the good of the many outweighs the good of the few" is so not spiderman that i can't believe that that many follow it that heavily and that most of them in Miles's shoes would do the exact same. So while they may not have conscientiously "let" him escape they also weren't REALLY trying to catch him thus allowing him to escape
Not only did miles lose his uncle but also watched the spider man from his universe die, movie deserves 3 sins for trying to put miles through 3x the trauma
Well the original Peter Parker saw Gwen being killed by the Goblin, lost his uncle and many more trauma, it keeps him going the right way all the time.
Actually Ned is a villain in the comic books, he was hobgoblin a couple of times. He even went on to train in sorcery with Mordo, hence why in No Way Home, it showed him being able to open Portals similar to Strange and Mordo
2:45 this might just be for comedic effect, but either way, isn't it insinuated that Miguel started all that 'spider society' stuff AFTER the collider? Miles was the original anomaly, so all anomalies came from him (and he was only an anomaly when he got bit because his spider was from another dimension). And, Peter B was there during the destruction of the dimension of Miguel's daughter which isn't as important but still says something. Also kudos to Miguel for being able to group hundreds of spider people and start all that Miguel Mouse's Clubhouse stuff in a year, likely less if what I'm saying is actually true
18:09 fr. if spot killing Jeff is a canon event, why was Gwen sent to stop spot at all? Miguel could’ve left him alone and it would happen the way he wanted
And the canon events change depending on what happens For example pavitr probably wa sgonna have inspector singh die a different way, but instead he was gonna die to the spot Gwen wouldve stopped the spot and then miles dad would have died anyway, but she wasnt able to stop him
2:54 Miguel didn’t have a strike team at this point. He only invented the watches immediately after the events of the first movie, hence the after credits scene of that movie.
You shouldn't have sinned any of the points where you said "Why didn't you stop Miles from doing x in movie 1". The movie explains that Into the Spiderverse was the inciting incident for what Miguel is doing now.
Ngl It was really frustrating seeing Gwen play with Miles’ emotions by going to see him after so long only to tell him he can’t join the spider society without explaining why
16:33 if miles wasn’t bit, his dad would become captain but wouldn’t die. The reason his dad is dying is because that’s a canon event for spider people to lose the police captain, and because it’s revenge for the spot, if miles wasn’t Spider-Man then his dad wouldn’t have to die when he becomes captain
at 10:54 i think Gwen doesn't detect Miles because she isn't being threatened. From my knowledge, the spidey sense "activates" when hostility is detected. Miles was just roaming around with zero intention of hurting her (obviously) therefore her spidey sense didn't have the "need" to detect him.
For all the sins for the spider society didn’t stop miles from getting bit, Miguel didn’t even have his own watch until after all the events in the first film happen, let alone there be a spider society to stop miles from being bit.
Dude…The task force was created AFTER miles got bit and the events of ITSV. I don’t know why you are thinking the spider society was here before, when it was shown at the end of the first movie that Miguel reacted to everything that happened after it happened, then had the prototype for the portal travel device. This is such an easy thing to know and you somehow are just under the assumption that everyone was already in the spider society before the events of the first movie, and could have stopped everything that happened. This is just idiotic.
9:37 "The whole point of multiverses is that every possible thing that could happen does happen somewhere!" There are an infinite number of numbers between 1 and 2, but 3 is not one of them. Maybe Spider-Man and Spider-Gwen getting along is a 3. Maybe it's simply not possible.

Bs world didn't disappear
Thank you, this was exactly what I was going to say. How did CS miss something so crucial from the first film?
... Maybe he needed more recaps..
In the movie didn't they make it clear that all this happened because of the events in Miles's universe? Mean Miguel didn't have a team until Miles got bit
@@MrSwccguy Sorry, I used a pronoun instead of Miguel's name which made the comment kind of vague. Please read it again.
Okay, but we all agree he skipped the Prowler!Miles scenes because he would be erasing sins like hell for it, right? RIGHT?
Someone said it was going to end with the cliffhanger of Miles being tied up and threatened by the Prowler, but that wasn't satisfying so they had Gwen form a band to go rescue/help Miles. Still couldn't find the male equivalent to "damsel in distress;" maybe "dude in distress?"
I'm not really that familiar with Prowler other than Insomniac's version so it was pretty underwhelming for me personally
@@sandal_thong8631 "Distressed Dude" is the TV Tropes page for it!
The scenes he skips are ones that have no glaring flaw in his opinion. Taking away “sins” is merely a way of expressing that the critic finds the scene impressive.
Let's all agree to call him "Miles Prowler"

Removing sins is meant to show that the scene is impressive in his eyes. Many great scenes, like the entirety of the second Spot fight was skipped.
5 sins were removed from Thor: Love and Thunder, no more explanation needed for this channel.

Yeah, I counted maybe 12 real sins. More if things aren't explained properly in the next movie.

The fact that he SINNED THE LOGO ART AT THE BEGINNING WITH THE SOUNDTRACK INTRO has gonna be at least worth 50 cinemasins-sins
11:00 the Spider Sense only goes off when the person is in danger. If Miles was about to hit her while he was stealth'd she probably would have known then.
As a therapist, calling him a full body Rorschach made me giggle. I watched it multiple times just to hear that bit. 😂
5:27
The fact that this isn't the first time I've seen someone point this out😂
A lot of the sins is just because of how many Easter eggs are packed into each frame 😮

Yeah I totally agree it's complete bullshit that there even trying to do him like that. He's never going to get over it if his dad dies as well.
3:03 That's a pretty good roast!!!
As someone who isn’t a fan of the movie the video’s length being longer than Mario’s is quite funny to me.
The minute of opening logos isn’t a sin… that eerie music really set the tone!
18:09 fr. if spot killing Jeff is a canon event, why was Gwen sent to stop spot at all? Miguel could’ve left him alone and it would happen the way he wanted
The spot still needs to be stopped
And the canon events change depending on what happens
For example pavitr probably wa sgonna have inspector singh die a different way, but instead he was gonna die to the spot
Gwen wouldve stopped the spot and then miles dad would have died anyway, but she wasnt able to stop him
2:54 Miguel didn’t have a strike team at this point.

Ngl
It was really frustrating seeing Gwen play with Miles’ emotions by going to see him after so long only to tell him he can’t join the spider society without explaining why
Women ☕😔
It kinda makes sense though when she explains her reasoning
16:33 if miles wasn’t bit, his dad would become captain but wouldn’t die. The reason his dad is dying is because that’s a canon event for spider people to lose the police captain, and because it’s revenge for the spot, if miles wasn’t Spider-Man then his dad wouldn’t have to die when he becomes captain
12:00
The British.
at 10:54 i think Gwen doesn't detect Miles because she isn't being threatened.
No playbook and yet everything is laid out in a intricate web
Sony should let PHIL LORD and CHRIS MILLER in charge of their cinematic universe
