the title ha an easy question, its yes i mean the lincon mark 8 had air suspention and was the new edge svt cobra before the svt cobra mustang generation was a thing
espro to be honest I don't think it's to bad. Yes TÜV is a bitch but they keep lots of crap that is legal in the US off the road. I really don't want a wheel of some crazy stance car in my windscreen on the autobahn
This seems to be in California. We have the strictest car laws in the whole country. You basically can't modify anything on your vehicle, but the enforcement is somewhat lax
Cal3000 how? Everyone I know that lives in California can't get any mods on without them being emissions tested and approved! You can't even fart without it being emissions tested!!! And that's why I live in Florida lol
There are ways to get things CARB approved. If someone is cert to do the testing that the mods don't affect the emissions to badly then they can issue you a sticker for it. Basically, don't de-cat the car and you will be fine.
Hope you guys have been enjoying the video! It was such a blast getting to get out and film with Cody. Would you guys be interested in more detailed looks at specific Time Attack cars like what we did with Cody, and the Subaru couple Markos and Sally? Edit: okay, we'll do it lol
I like this guy. He actually puts his modifications to a good use and air suspension definitelly makes sense for a fast car that is also daily driven. I also really like the colors.
He started out driving it daily and wanted to continue to have the ability to drive it daily with the mods. However, he said later in the video he now dailies a 350z.
the point being, his race car is street legal, yes not a daily but still registered street legal, that in itself is best of 2 worlds as he can drive his race car on the street if he wants like he did in the canyon drive.
A good 4k camera and a few lenses a gimbal or stabilizer you can make videos like this oh and a computer with a decent editing software but sound like alot but your just buying that stuff once I'm pretty sure they have made there money back on gear a long time ago and if you get a UA-cam channel going you can upgrade as you go

This is the video that literally sold me on air suspension. About a month later I did the install with a 3P system on my 408Whp mk7.5 GTI. Still fine tuning and figuring things out but I’m loving it over my BC racing coilovers.
I love Bags so much. They are super comfortable, they handle extremely well, and when aired out, looks extremely well. I plan to put air on my ‘01 Mustang GT.
Fascinating ! I've been seriously contemplating something like this for a future build, yet, hardly any info on from a real world track use experience. Thank you for making such a well produced and informative video. Bravo to everyone involved in this production on every level.
Fuck, that Subie looks AMAZING. And it performs decently, what a machine. Impossible for me to say a bad thing of a car that has the looks and has the performance, and proves it on the track. The daily looks dope as well, and the video, holy shit. The quality is simply insane. One of the best car channels on youtube, best combination of cars, knowledge and interesting info, astonishing visuals and interesting people.
I think air suspension gets a bad rap, and I can see it really taking off once the technology gets a bit better. In the mountain bike scene air has taken over most bikes compared to a traditional spring set up. The ability to just add or remove pressure takes no time, and achieves the same thing as changing out a spring. Using volume spacers you can change the way it behaves, having it soft at the top and very stiff near bottom out. Having ridden both on the bike side a spring soaks up soft bumps much better, but air gave much better support, which is perfect for exiting a corner on track. I could see this becoming popular at the track as changing set up becomes easy and the extra support and dampening of air I could see as a benefit.
I've said it once and ill say it again, every video you guys make is a masterpiece , each scene has its place, everything flows beautifully... the little things in these videos just make them stand out from any other automotive channel. i wish you the best of luck! I truly believe you will be the channel that makes it to the top :)

This honestly answered all my questions for air suspension... I was contemplating installing it on my 2002 Merc CLK430 coupe (my daily driver) so I could have it low when I want, but when visiting family, I can raise it to stock height (they're the types that instantly think any old car that's modified is "ghetto"). But overall, I didn't want to sacrifice cornering capabilities. Great vid. Answers a lot of questions that I'm sure many of us had in mind.
Holy shit I think I saw you guys filming this dude when I was carving one day... I can’t believe I didn’t recognize y’all that Subaru was FAST and loud!!! A little intimidating in my civic si haha.
I love the Impreza, the car that basically turned me into a petrolhead,as I see these videos and look my savings I get more and more motivated to get one, great work on the car and great video on this channel, keep it up!
Amazing truly i thought that the same thing about airlift suspension that it was just for people who like to look agressive when stanced. @@PeRRXX what I want to know is how can you have a high enough relative spring rate when you let air out of the system to lower the car. Seems counterintuitive to me. Like I would think that in order for you to get a high enough spring rate out of the bags that they would have to be at or near stock height with the proper amount of air to create a spring rate high enough for performance. Also does the airbag create a linear spring rate, progressive spring rate? I would actually think that the resistance of the bag would create an almost exponential increase in spring rate on every bump and road imperfection.

Airlift claims it to be tested to around -30 Fahrenheit I was in NY recently and it was -10 with the windchill and i accidently aired out over night and still didnt have any issues on my 16' mustang gt.
Don__219 you mean Jose? Ya I use to have guy lol. But before then I use to swap my b series out for my d16 just to pass. I even remember my buddy borrowing it to do the same. Honda engines if you don’t know.
When you go to track days there are companies that offer insurance I think some places it goes by what ever you write down the value of your car is they cover that percent with a deposit
u can drift on anything lol its up to you if u want to experiment with it or not, its a few cars out there drifting on bags it can be done, the reason alot of ppl dont do it is cuz of the cost an if u get into a lil accident on the course or someone taps your wheels an it goes off alignment a lil bit scraping the bag youll most likely need to replace a bag or height sensor an most likely you wont have an extra bag or height sensor at the track an no one at the track will have one if u dont have any of those ur car is done but a coilover will be fine cuz its juss a strut with a spring not all tht other lil stuff tht can break or pop its juss more expensive an more things worry bout, most drifters like to keep it simple an dont want to deal with tht point being its juss not practical for drifting
I really enjoyed the videos from about a year ago. The guy is one of the only humble, contained individuals doing these car review videos. I think the subi is the product of someone with more cash than direction, but still a great presentation of his dope ass build!! Dude i wish I had a car like thi, but I also would want a dedicated track car before putting that much cash into anything street able! 😅
Renaud Dargis That's not how it's meant to work though. Bags aren't really meant to be driven while half inflated, mainly for alignment purposes. It's usually up for driving, down while parked. If you want it up in the winter, down in the summer, you're better off with coilovers for the summer, then stock suspension for the winter.
Shona As someone who lives in Canada, I was thinking about bags for my wrx for this exact reason.. If I don't care about my aligment during winter months could I do this? Ground clearance is important when it's a weekly occurance to be driving through 6+ inches of snow before the plows come by.
EliteSlayer542 When I'm referring to alignment it's your ride height alignment. You set your ride height where it's fully inflated and then set your alignment to that. Whenever you lower your car, the alignment goes off, mostly with camber and it allows wheels to tuck up in to the wells. I live in Ireland, where the roads are shit all year round, I have bags for my Mk2 Golf and the ride height and alignment is set for when the bags are fully deflated. However, it's a not stupid low and sitting on the ground, it's a happy medium so that I can drive around fully deflated without needing my compressor on at all times and when I encounter a speed bump or bad road, I can use the bags to full potential and go full monster truck mode and raise the car by 5" to get over bumps. You could do this to your car also, it would help greatly in the winter months, but be aware that it comes with trade offs and your car will never be able to be fully stanced out, sitting on the ground unless you have another set of bags, and you may also have to set your alignment as driving them around fully inflated full time would probably leave you with positive camber, which obviously isn't great for tire wear lol.
Shona Thanks for the detailed answer dude, so from my understanding, if I want it low in the summer, (not slammed by any means, I live Montreal and you need pothole clearance lol) then I should align it when fully deflated and only use my bags for the winter. I want to permanently jack it up by at least 2 inches over stock, but how bad would the tire wear be on my winter set at that height?
EliteSlayer542 I'm really not sure to be honest it all depends on your setup so I couldn't possibly tell you off the top of my head, I'm only really familiar with what worked for me. I should probably also mention that my setup couldn't be bought, it had to be custom made to suit my requirements. I used Airlift Crafter pack and built my airlift myself, and also made custom coil springs that act as bump stops to cause my bags from getting any wear while driving around fully deflated, (like I mentioned before, it isn't ideal to have bags fully or half deflated, you want a minimum of 0.3 Bar pressure in your bags.) It won't be cheap, bags never are, even the cheaper Crafter packs cost north of $2k, but they are worth it. I'd recommend checking out the Airlift Performance website, they have introductions and FAQs full of every bit of information you could possibly want.
Gentlemen, we couldn't just let such a disliked and despised meme fade away so quickly could we? 8ts already faded so badly, with just a little help it might stay around to annoy people indefinitely.

After hearing that the Subaru was street-legal, the intro made a whole lot more sense...
i always get jelly when i see that everything can be street legal in USA, we aren't even allowed to change steering wheels..
Alex Strömberg
Can't even change... A steering wheel?
Son, you need help.
well, we can if the other one also has airbag, and if the car doesn't have a airbag it can be changed.
Alex Strömberg, It would never be "street legal" here in Australia either
Alex Strömberg depends on the state but in Florida as long as it has four lights, blinkers, and mirrors its street legal. It's such a gray area lol.

Airlift claims it to be tested to around -30 Fahrenheit I was in NY recently and it was -10 with the windchill and i accidently aired out over night and still didnt have any issues on my 16' mustang gt.
Works with my S4
Add air brake anti-freeze to your air lines and you will be good to go. We are located in Vermont and haven't had any issues!
HELL YES!! I am differently getting Air Lift performance!! Best video I have ever seen on AIR RIDE!!
Dat subie is lit
this car is AMAZING! daaaamn
HOW IN THE HELL DID YOU MAKE THIS SUBI CALI STREET LEGAL? WE ALL WANT TO KNOW !
It was probably registered and insured before all the mods, and illegally smogged
Don__219 you still have to smog it every two years or annually I don’t remember haven’t lived in Cali for a while.
Ya it’s all smoke and mirrors there’s no way that car is street legal that’s a bunch of BS.
@@Barrettcoronalight ya every 2 years but he probably knows someone who can just to the paperwork and say it passed
Don__219 you mean Jose? Ya I use to have guy lol. But before then I use to swap my b series out for my d16 just to pass. I even remember my buddy borrowing it to do the same. Honda engines if you don’t know.
this is amazing, this dude is doing so well for himself
I wonder how much is the insurance premium for these kind of street legal racecars.. it must be stupidly expensive :")
theagam97 same as stock if you don’t say anything 😉😂
It’ll be the same as a stock car
Spencer Scrapes but then if there is a total wreck, they will not be eligible to pay you anything since you dont disclose any mods of the car 🤔🤔
I have an 05’ Mitsubishi Evo and the fucking insurance is a pain in the ass
When you go to track days there are companies that offer insurance I think some places it goes by what ever you write down the value of your car is they cover that percent with a deposit
Literally cant like this video enough, cant wait to get my garage started.
4k op
One of the sickest STI out there. I love it when a car is made beautiful, keeps her shiny, and races the crap out of it. Yeah
can you make a video of Can You Drift on Air Suspension? plsss do it i need it
FormerNine 11079 I second thT
u can drift on anything lol its up to you if u want to experiment with it or not, its a few cars out there drifting on bags it can be done, the reason alot of ppl dont do it is cuz of the cost an if u get into a lil accident on the course or someone taps your wheels an it goes off alignment a lil bit scraping the bag youll most likely need to replace a bag or height sensor an most likely you wont have an extra bag or height sensor at the track an no one at the track will have one if u dont have any of those ur car is done but a coilover will be fine cuz its juss a strut with a spring not all tht other lil stuff tht can break or pop its juss more expensive an more things worry bout, most drifters like to keep it simple an dont want to deal with tht point being its juss not practical for drifting
@@lonelyboysole im thinking about going air cups for this reason
I really enjoyed the videos from about a year ago. The guy is one of the only humble, contained individuals doing these car review videos. I think the subi is the product of someone with more cash than direction, but still a great presentation of his dope ass build!! Dude i wish I had a car like thi, but I also would want a dedicated track car before putting that much cash into anything street able! 😅
I like SUBARUS, I like hot boi stance, I like the video😅
You guys make such beautiful videos!!!
I might be a little crazy but I think I will buy a set of air suspension to upper my car in winter and lower it in summer :')
Such a nice bit of kit, he's done well with his Subie :)
Nice subie

Edward Agora Feenman why. Stop
I found the 12 year old guys
Gentlemen, we couldn't just let such a disliked and despised meme fade away so quickly could we? 8ts already faded so badly, with just a little help it might stay around to annoy people indefinitely.
Edward Agora Feenman this comment should be deleted
danny graafland or pinned, either way.
Every video of this channel is a master piece.
The way I see it, if it's on bags, it's not a race car
TheZondaS this is clearly a race car. If you built it to race, it’s a race car.
the way I see it, you are pretty dumb
It’s not a race car, it’s just holds a couple time attack championships.... this has to be the dumbest comment yet
😂
+Cody Miles . dude.... I was never really a fan of the hawkeye, but holy shit yours looks soooooo good ;)
To be honest, you look like you have 10m subscribers and i mean...you totally deserve that.. your cinematography is insane. Love it!
He seems like a cool and honest guy.
The quality never dissapoints👌
After this channel shine into my eyes my moms Supra was a real legend
This is an absolutely a top notch quality material!
The editing in this video is so dope
I was specifically looking for an answer to the question of “can an air suspension hit the corners hard?” and this video answered that beautifully.
From 9 minutes + was an excellent conclusion
Your content keeps getting better and better! Keep up the great work!
This video was so well made any frame could be wallpaper worthy.
I loved every shot of that Subbie. Excellent work!
Some of the best automotive videos on UA-cam. Keep it up!
My god, the montage near the end was jaw-dropping.
Whoever filmed this needs to make a movie
You and Roads Untraveled always make my day.
Love you guys.
