I think DJI nailed it with that 70mm lens, such a great focal length for being able to really add additional shots that are dramatically different than the standard drone shot. Instead of an interchangeable lens phantom DJI gave us everything in one drone without needing to land to change lenses
It would have been nice to have a second 70mm lens but this is just a smaller sensor cropping the image. So the second lens is not even close to 70m, more like 35mm and 2x crop.

Are the so-called 7x lens and sensor unchanged? I don't see the "3x" lens being of much use to me, I'd always prefer the m43 camera (even if slightly digitally zoomed), and prefer 7x for playing around over the "3x". BTW, "1x" is 50mm. The m43 lens (24mm - wide angle) is therefore about 1/2x "zoom". The middle lens at 70mm is only slightly "zoomed in" (50mm is 1x). The other lens I forget the length but the zoom is its length divided by 50...my recollection is it's around 3-4x.

I've enjoyed POI at 7x with Mavic 3. Something amazing about 4-6 mile diameter orbits. Plus that dream-like soft focus is perfect for certain sequences.

Awesome video Billy! I got my M3 just 3 months ago. If I knew they be coming out with pro so soon I would have waited 😢 anyways is it worth upgrading to m3 pro from m3?
I’m new to drones and looking to capture great video footage. I am curious about a few things though. How or what do you use to edit and color grade the footage that has been captured. Is there any prosumer drone with a thermal upgradability? I have a thermal cam module with type-c dongle for phone but not interested in strapping a phone to drone.
Do I understand that on the cine model the 7X zoom will have ProRes? That could help the 3 lenses to be more equal in (final) output quality, don't you think? If on the basic model the 7X zoom even doesn't have D-Log would mean that the cine model really is worth now. I was expecting the price being higher for the cine model. It is not cheap , but maybe it is the way to go...

Could you post up some Raw photos from the different camera so we can check out the quality please. I see you done some video clips but I'd like to see Raw photo quality
They are in the folder I linked.
Would we be able to swap the camera on the Mavic 3 cine..to a pro cam?
No
@@billykyle was this conformed by their engineers?
Billy ❤❤❤❤ We now have a PRO drone! I am so excited 🎉
Only responding because you’re verified
Is there any prosumer drone with a thermal upgradability?
I have a thermal cam module with type-c dongle for phone but not interested in strapping a phone to drone.
Autel Evo
Do I understand that on the cine model the 7X zoom will have ProRes? That could help the 3 lenses to be more equal in (final) output quality, don't you think? If on the basic model the 7X zoom even doesn't have D-Log would mean that the cine model really is worth now. I was expecting the price being higher for the cine model. It is not cheap , but maybe it is the way to go...
I don't have the Cine version. Check out Potato Jet's video.
You're the man Billy. Another great review man thanks! Hey, two things you did not cover. As a Mavic 3 Cine owner, can I assume that the batteries are leverageable between the Cine and the pro? And as I also have the RC Pro, can I just buy the airframe and bring two drones one controller and decide which one I want to fly using the RC Pro remote? Again, many thanks for your hard work bringing us the info!
Thank you so much! Yeah - same batteries. You’ll be able to use them with both drones.
@@billykyle And the remote? Can I take both the 3 Cine Pro as my main drone for a gig and the 3 Cine that I already own as a backup and if something happens to the Pro, fly my 3 Cine with the same RC Pro remote that I already own?
Are the cameras of the Mavic 3 series interchangeable?
No
Are the batteries on m3pro same mAh as current m3s ?
Yes
Anything different with panoramic mode????
great review Billy and footage looks awsome but little pricey for me to upgrade from mavic 3 which works fime for me at this time very interesting though
Thanks Jim! I appreciate it!
I noticed in this video that you can do Active Track in 4K60. On the Air 2S which I currently fly, I have to switch it to 4K24 or 4K30. I kept wondering why it kept telling me I was in the wrong recording format. Also if you have currently own a RC Pro, could you get the Mavic 3 Pro only and just link the RC Pro to it?
Yeah, the RC Pro you have will work.
This drone runs Activetrack 5.0, so it has more functionality.
