Heck yeah that’s awesome, congrats !!!! You’re absolutely right, I feel like I bought a sheath and I came with a free knife 😂. I remember when I first got mine, I took it out of the box and was instantly impressed the minute I picked it up !! Good luck with it and enjoy it !! Thank you for watching 👍
If you ever "Wet Form" another knife sheath. Instead of soaking the sheath in water. Give it a heavy coat of Boiled Linseed Oil. Let the oil soak in a bit, then slide the knife in. You don't need to worry about the knife rusting. Its how I've done many a sheath. Plus the sheath is now water proofed. I'm looking at getting the BPS Savage. I don't need another Ferro rod. The reason its a tad loose, is due to the plastic you had wrapped around the knife.
Thank you so much for watching and thank you for the advice, I’ll definitely have to give the method a try !! Ahh yeah that’s neat I’ve seen the picture of the BPS savage it looks awesome !! If you get if I’d love to hear what you think of it !!
@@940joey2 Hello Joey , just a wee word of caution when using Linseed oil, boiled or raw, just be carefull disposing of any rags or cotton waste used to mop up or apply any linseed oil. It can spontaneously combust. I put any waste into a old bucket and use it to help light my wood burning stove.

I have the same knife. I'd mentioned in passing to my wife that I wanted a good bushcraft knife and without my knowledge she went onto Amazon and seeing the price she just ordered it with no hesitation. I was suspicious of it at first (lol) but I absolutely love it. I think I'll show it the same love as you've done. Great video! Cheers
Thank you so much for watching !!! Heck yeah that’s awesome!! These are amazing knives I couldn’t be more happy with mine. I’m going to be doing a long term review on it soon since it’s been about a year. Good luck with yours 👍 thank you so much again !!
There are a couple of things I've found with wet forming that might help you. I've dabbled with making axe masks and knife sheaths but I'm no expert, probably just a few lessons ahead of you, so hopefully the advice is pertinent, relevant and achievable with the kit you have. 1. Finding a way to stretch and hold the shape you want whilst it dries is a must. Think clips or the like (with scraps for padding, you don't want to mark the sheath) for the holding but for the stretching you really need to push and force the leather into the shape you want with a smoothing tool. It needs to be absolutely tight to shape, far tighter than you think you want it, and then you need to try to keep it that way for drying. A smoothing tool is anything hard, smooth and pointed enough you can really push the leather in to shape with that doesn't actually cut or mark the leather whilst you do it. I use the end of a butterknife handle, it's pointy enough to get into corners but is so rounded it doesn't damage the workpiece. They almost certainly sell tools for the job, I'm sure you can find something perfectly acceptable in your house for free though. 2. Drying. The quicker you can dry it the better. I don't think the drying speed really matters as far as the leather is concerned but the less time it has to relax and move the better. A very low oven is brilliant and really easy for a knife (try it with a felling axe...) but even a fan on a sunny window cill will really speed things up. You want to end up with a hard leather that holds its shape, something you can rap your knuckles on. You'll lose some of that rigidity if you treat the leather, but try not to soften it entirely with waterproofing waxes or oils. I've never managed to shape and dry a sheath so quickly and well that I couldn't get the knife or axe out, so these days I actively try to make it so tight I can't and dry it quickly enough to keep it that way. That way I figure that if I'm 90% of the way there I've got a really tight fit that will wear in nicely with renaissance wax and use. Hope that helps, and as with all things like this: practice and experience are better teachers than most (me very much included).
WOW !!! Thank you so much for watching and thank you for taking the time for this AWESOME comment !! I really appreciate the advice !! Next time I do a sheath I’m going to give these tips a try !! Thank you again 👍
I hear bluing is toxic for food prep, I wouldn't have done it I would just fold over some thin paper and cut it to the shape of the blade and fold it over the spine and saturate it with apple cider vinegar and let it patina for a few min then rinse it off, I would also put a layer of Super Lube under the scales to seal it and prevent rust, SL is non toxic. Anyway the knife does look great
Thank you so much for the awesome tip, I’ll def have to try that on another knife. Yes bluing is definitely toxic and I wouldn’t do this to a knife if you plan on using it on food. I don’t use this on food or in food prep while in the woods, I only use this for woodcraft and camping type tasks. For food prep I generally use a folding knife or another fixed blade that I normally carry. This was a fun experiment, but not the best choice. Thanks for watching !!
I don't think I would have squeezed a leather around the knife. We all learn from previous attempts, I'm sure. I would have just sunbaked it... maybe be anxious and try the knife every 24 hours or less? However, I do share the exuberance about the Biew Bladed Beauty! By the way I wanted this knife also but because it is going to stick in the target when you throw it properly! Another guy on a knife channel has well demonstrated it.🤗 I'll share more because it's the kind of knife I originally wanted but I had already found four different ones first A Pakistani Damascus 12" and some Viking 10" looking one with perhaps 60 visible indentations on the front blade but it is quite sweet. But I really like carbon steel and it wouldn't surprise me if the Adventurer would have been my first, last and only. You have an awesome near custom thrower and you've done ezcellent work!
Absolutely !! Im so happy I bought this knife, never regretted it once. Im hoping to add more bps knives to the arsenal soon !! Thank you so much for watching !!
Zinc parkerizing also provides a very good finish. Its what a lot of military rifles were done in. Very dark grey flat color. Only issue is it will not work on anything stainless steel. That knife looks really good!
Leather supply stores use a sponge or spritz sprayer to soften the leather. I have done several several and they were tight. Good advive do not jam the knife in, but leave some snuggle room as the leather will give too much and stop on the welt . Nice bluing bro!
Thank you so much for watching and for the awesome advice !!! I ended up adding a rivet next to the other rivet up top to tighten it up. Heck yeah thank you I happy with how the bluing I think it gives it a cool look !! 👍
Hey Joey! Man I absolutely love your videos on this knife. I have used Birchwood Casey products for years. A LONG time ago I used to work for a gunsmith.. Best cold blue product I have ever used though is Brownells Oxpho Blue. Apply as directed and let it "set up" and to be cold blue it is tough as nails. There's also a product called Wicked Wax, food safe, easy to carry in field, multi use.
Aw June puppy!!! I love this so much. The knife came out so beautiful, I absolutely love it. You do such a good job all the time, I'm so proud of you. Keep on keepin on ;)
When I wet formed mine, I laid scrap leather where it needed to be pinched tighter and left spring clamps on it until it dried.. it kept the same form.
Thank you so much for watching !! Oh that’s a good idea, I’ll have to give that a try next time I have to tighten up a sheath !! Thank you so much for watching and for the awesome tip and for the sub !!!
Thank you so much I really appreciate it !!! I’m glad I was able fo help and thank you so much for watching. I’m actually getting ready to do a long term review on this knife now that I’ve had it for a year and used the hell out of it …. Here’s a sneak peek, this knife is OUTSTANDING !!!!!!
I have a simple solution for you, a peace of shock cord on the back of the knife that you can rap around the leather of the rod holder. I use this with my Bench-made puukka knife because it has a plastic sleeve in the leather sheath and falls out easily, now with the shock cord it holds it in great. Your knife turned out great and if you had used a foam block forming press ( same one used with Kydex I think your result would have been better) . Great video and thanks for sharing. 😀
There's a video on here of a guy "wet" forming a sheath with pure beeswax, melted in a crock pot. Drop it in and sorta let it soak until it quits bubbling. Wrap the knife if you want, totally not necessary because its beeswax and while its hot, form the knife to the sheath. You can then burnish and wipe off excess wax, BOOM. IF it starts to get too cool you can warm it in a low temp toaster oven and hand work it till its right for you. Now the sheath is completely water resistant and of course, melted beeswax can't hurt your tools, no water😂
I use vinegar, mustard, hot sauce, etc. to force a patina on my knives. I heard cold blue isn't the safest if you'll be using it to cut food. Not sure if it's true, but better safe than sorry.
I’ve never heard of using that kind of stuff to force a patina before!!! That’s a really cool idea, I’ll have to give that a shot on the next knife it get 👍. So cold blue solution is a corrosive hazardous material, I’ll have to look at the placards but I believe it falls under a few different hazmat placards. It’s not the safest stuff if the world. I would agree, best not to use this with food. Thank you so much for watching !!
Cool video. I am doing something similar with the BPS B1 I got a couple days ago. But I used vinegar to do the patina, and all I had was Danish oil, so I used that on the handle scales. My sheath is still very tight, so no need to do anything with that yet, but I will probably put a couple applications of Sno- Seal on it.
Thank you so much for watching !!! Heck yeah that’s awesome, I want to try the vinegar idea one day !! I’ve heard from other people too that their sheath is very tight, I’m trying to remember is mine was super tight when I got it. I don’t think it was, I don’t think it was loose like it was in the video, but I don’t remember the sheath being that tight. I’m ok with it, since this video I ended up adding a rivet next to the existing one and it works awesome !!! Ahhh man I love snow seal, it’s the best stuff ever !!! Been using it on my boots for years 👍
I usually run warm water into the sheath for about 20 - 30 seconds. Then form with my fingers and a burnishing tool of some kind. (antler tine, wooden tool handle etc) let it dry for about an hour, remove the knife, then bake it in the oven for about 20 -30 minutes at 170 degrees.
Very cool, I saw Dutch Bushcraft Knives did a video on this maker, but yours came out two weeks earlier! DBK is a little behind you, but I’m sure their channel will catch up eventually. Looks like a great knife, I’ve been impressed by Ukrainian tools. I have several beaver craft products and they are all wonderful.
Thank you so much !! Yes same man I’m happy I made the purchase, I suppose in expensive doesn’t always mean “cheap” … oh nice I’ll have to check his video out and see what he thinks of it !!
Great instructional video Joey. My limited experience in wet forming leather had a similar result...more contoured and form fitted to the knife shape but no better retention. I ended up glueing another layer of leather inside the throat of the sheath which worked well. I have also used a kitchen vacuum sealer which did an excellent job with the wet forming but didn't increase retention. Perhaps the leather guys will have some expert tips.
Thank you so much Brett !! That’s a great idea man I’ll have to try that out, I believe my parents have a vacuum sealer I’ll have to grab it from them one day. Yeah i seem to be having that issue the leather is more for fitted but the retention hasn’t changed. Thanks again man 👍
Vacuum forming will be brilliant for shaping the leather but it isn't going to let it dry at all. An airtight seal literally will not let the piece dry out at all. It's the drying that holds the leather in the new shape, without a way to keep that tension in the workpiece which the vacuum creates it isn't going to remain that shape once you take it out to dry. It's a good idea (and genuinely perfect for step one of the process) but to get it to work for step two is probably harder than traditional wet forming with a shaper.
Thanks for the vid, knife turned out great👍. Wet forming can be a pain. Sometimes just the thickness of the plastic wrap can be enough to stop a really tight fit. Leather thickness can affect it too. Using a smooth pointer or stick to work into corners can help. If it loosens over time I'll usually add a bit of water, oil or dubbin (whichever I have handy) into the corners and rework it through. The vac seal, and beeswax methods sound pretty cool too
I bought mine a few months ago. Nice knife. Great price. I ordered mine directly from their site. Took 3 wks which isn't bad at all. I've read reviews on amazon stating that the knife came rusty. It's a high carbon steel knife. Rust happens. Any rust upon delivery is just surface rust. Easy to remedy. Easy to prevent. However if you want one looking the way it did when it left the BPS shop in Ukrainia than I suggest you support them directly by ordering from them directly. I received mine rust free and looking mint. Nice and sharp as well. Not sure if it was mentioned in the video, I have the volume down while commenting, but I've heard it said that BPS supplies the Ukraine Troops with their knives. I think that speaks volumes in itself.
Thank you so much for watching !!! I too read the reviews, but I believe people are to harsh or never had a high carbon blade before be sue they act like it’s the end of the world. Surface rust on the blade will obviously not affect the performance. I decided to go with cold blueing to help prevent rust because I use my knife a lot and sometimes I put my knife back in the sheath wet or the sheath gets wet and leather obviously will hold moisture, so I figured it’s just a little extra protection. I’m so impressed with the quality of these knives !! I got my dad one for Christmas, he loves it and he stands by his vintage bucks knives. He was blown away on the quality and the fit and finish !! I couldn’t believe how crazy sharp it is out of the box and it seems to hold an edge really well !! I’m glad to hear you love yours as well !! Thank you so much again for watching and for the awesome comment 👍
Thank you so much for watching !!! If you do decide to pick this knife up I don’t think you’ll be disappointed !! I’ve had this knife now for almost 2 years now think more around a year and a half. This knife goes out with me every time I step into the woods, and I use this thing !! It hasn’t let me down yet and I don’t think it ever will. If I’m being completely honest I’ve probably used this knife a lot harder than intended just for the sake of “there’s no way a 40 dollar knife is this good” almost like I was looking for a reason for it to fail. Well I tell you what this knife took everything I threw at it and kept on chugging 👍. In fact I picked up a second one just Incase this one failed and I honestly haven’t even opened the box yet, it’s been months !! Yeah I totally agree throwing some liners on would be an awesome finishing touch. I have 2 more videos with this knife if you’re interested check them out. Thank you so much for watching and subscribing 🤙. I must apologize ahead of time, it’s been about 3 months since my last video. I normally post at least once a week, but I’ve been slammed with work even on the weekends. That being said I hope to get out in the woods with another video soon 👍
I use hot wax often after the initial wet forming. PRACTICE on a piece you do not care about first ! It WILL darken quite a lot. Anyhow, Use a heat gun on the leather to the point of just painful to touch. CATION, do not over heat the leather. Rub a chunk of wax (I use bees wax.) on the low points of any curves. This will give a nice shadowing to the piece. No harm and a uniform look to do this to the entire item. Using formfitting gloves or a smooth/rounded stick, etc. press the leather into the shape as one does during wet forming. Work it until it is cool. This will greatly improve holding the form and provides a lot of water resistance. Also look into carboili-(sp) wax boiled leather for armour hard, if you want that sort of thing.
Awesome thank you so much for the advice !! I’ll definitely give that a try, I’m not worried about it being darker in fact I think a little darker will look cooler 👍 .. do you recommend 100% bees wax or do you think I can get away with wax you would use on an axe handle with bees wax in it
@@940joey2 Hmmm. That would depend on what else was in the wax. Myself, I prefer 100% bees wax. Now often after the creases/curves are waxed and holding shape, I will lightly oil the rest. Makes a nice fade look. If/when the grip/form starts to slack a bit, hit it with some heat and remold. Just my mileage.
@@940joey2 You want a high concentration of wax in the places you want to hold shape and grip. I like 100% bees wax because of of this...no additives = better structure.
@@spektr540hemi ok sounds good I’m sure i can find bees wax some where local. I know we have a candle chop near by, wonder if they would have bees wax. I know this sounds stupid but could I go to a bee keeper for bees wax or is that just honey?
Thank you so much for watching !!! Funny you mention that, not long after this video I started treating my wooden knife handles with bees wax !! I love how they turned out 👍
@@940joey2 sure, nice video 👍 I was going trough every BPS and BeaverCraft knife video. Just stumbled across them recently, they seem more than good for the price. Have my eyes fixed on the Beavercraft BSH 2 now. Oh and if you put your handles in liquid bees wax they will be completely filled with wax. No more space for water to get in.😉
I made a little lanyard that goes from the top of the attached belt clip with a slip knot loop at the other end that I slip over the flair at the base of the grip.
another good vid man - the sheath is pretty big to start with - so maybe rivet after mine dries - i did the same process as per the bluing - i wasnt smart enuff to sand the handle while on the knife but same as you i loved it even more when i put it back together - thanks
Thank you so much for watching !!! Heck yeah I’m glad to hear you did the bluing as well… ahhh it’s ok you don’t have to do the sanding, it’s just something a little extra I did. You could always do it on another time 👍 glad to hear you love your knife as well !!! Thank you so much again !!!
Nice tune up, great deal for a good looking knife. I'm gonna buy one for sure at that price. If you end up doing a lot of wet forming, 2 pieces of high density foam maybe 16"x16" and two pieces of plywood same ish dimensions sandwich what your forming in between and clamp the shit out of it and leave it to dry. Same process for kydex just out of the oven instead of leather out of water.
Thank you so much, I love love love this knife !! I don’t think you’ll be displeased with it at all !! Oh wow that a great idea I’ll have to give that a shot .. thank you so much for the awesome advice !! 👍
Thank you so much, that’s a great idea !! I’ll have to give that a shot. Since then what I did was I sewed in a strip of leather at the top to give some more retention around the handle.
Next time wet form it and then do the knife after. Won’t have to worry so much about the rust, but you do it just right. you can always add some clamps to pinch the ends in. Looks great!
Thanks Kevin I really appreciate the advice !! To be honesty I got frustrated and added a river next to the existing one !! Thank you I love the cold blue the the dark grips, really has a old look to it !!
Heck yeah that’s awesome, you’re going to love it !! I’m looking forward to hearing what you think of it when it comes in. 55.00 are you in the states, last time I checked the price here on Amazon they were still 40 bucks. Either way it’s a great knife and sheath for sure !! Thanks for watching 🤙
These are amazing knives, and an even more amazing price !! I’ll have to do a user review on it because I love this knife and I use it all the time !! Thank you so much for watching 🤙
A C clamp to press on the sheath might work, adding a small leather thong over the knife might be rigged to hold the knife in, similar to one over the hammer of a revolver
Thank you and thank you so much for watching !! I’ll have to give that a shot and heck yeah that’s a great idea, just like the old single action revolver holsters 👍
It might be a good idea to coat the part of the knife under the scales with polyurethane to seal it from water just a light coat, then when the scales are reapplied put a light coat of poly on the wood
Do the same thing you done. And then vacuum seal it for an hour. Take it out of the vacuum bag and put it in the oven 250° for about an hour. Knife amd all. It’ll click like kyfex afterwards
Great video and I really like how your knife turned out. I don't know much about wet forming leather but I wonder if adding 1mm liners between the handles and the knife would make it fit a bit more snug in the sheath? I find the handles on my Adventurer to be a bit on the slim side anyway.
Thank you so much I really appreciate it !! Hey that’s a great ideal maybe I’ll try that out. I never thought to make the knife it self thicker at the handle, I guess I was more concerned with making the sheath smaller and totally over looked that !! And yeah you’re right the handle is a bit slim any how, it could only benefit from adding some liners or making thinker scales 👍
Try to post this again.. i just got one, july '24. The sheath alone is worth the $37 I paid for it on amz, the BPk store! The fit and finish was perfect on mine.
Hey sorry I’m just getting back to you !! If you’re just getting some surface rust or flash rust I generally use 0000 steel wool or a green scotch brite pad. You definitely want to keep the blade oiled or put a forced patina on it to help prevent rusting 🤙 I hope this helps !! Thanks for watching !!
Thank you so much for watching. Ahh yes that seems to make sense and this was pre oiled from the factory and I’ve oiled it my self so you’re probably right saying that. Since then I have remedied the issue by adding a hole toward the top of the sheath near the handle next to the existing rivet and added an additional rivet which tightened it up nicely. 👍
It was either Mr. Sears or Mr. Roebuck who said you never use the word "Cheap". It has a connotation of inferior quality. There is nothing "Cheap" about there knives. They are one of the best bushcraft knives on the market today. I have 13 of their knives. On the leather I have used saddle soap first, than later a few apps of mink oil.
Thank you so much for watching and for the awesome comment !!! Very well said sir, I couldn’t have said it better myself. You absolutely hit the nail on the head saying there is nothing cheap about these knives !!! I love mine, I use the heck out of it. I’m thinking of doing a long term review since it’s been about year of use 👍 WOW 13 of them!!! That’s awesome, I just got my second one !!! They truly are the best knives I’ve ever used !! Thank you so much again, I hope to get more BPS knives in the future 👍
Dont keep the knife in while drying.Insert knife, wet form be sure to work the corners.Take knife out.Rework a tad, youll see it.Youll have to insert knife SLOWLY back in once dried. You can leave the knife in the sheath and use a hair dryer on low if knife is in the sheath or top of a table in the sun on a hot day.Of course clean moisture off and oil.Worked for me .
Hey John thank you so much for watching !! So no one has ever asked me to do that before. Do you have a bps adventurer and just want it blued and oiled ? If so I’d be happy just to do it, if you just pay shipping. 👍
Thank you so much BPS Knives !!! I absolutely love your knives !! The adventure is my 4th knife made by you and I couldn’t be happier with all 4 of them, so thank you for making such an awesome product !!
When I assembled knives, I put 2 ton epoxy between the scales and tang then put the pins in and clamp down. That will give you extra insurance in case the bolts come loose when you are out using the knife. Also boiling leather strinks it. So if the sheath really bothers you, you can try that and if it's to small then apply oils to the leather and stretch it out with the knife in it.
Thank you again for watching and thank you so much for the sub !!! The snake juice is available at killingerofficial.com he doesn’t always have it in stock he makes it in small batches. Best bet is to sign up for his news letter to be notified 👍
Thank you so much for watching !!! That’s the first thing I tried a while before making the video (off camera obviously). It worked ok but I couldn’t make it “seamless” it sort of made it uneven in the opposite spots, if that makes sense. I know I’m not explaining the best. Thank you so much for watching and for the tip, I’m sure I’m other scenarios it has worked out. If I have un even scales on my next bps, I’ll give this a try again 👍
So the snake juice is from Chris killinger at his website killinger official, I don’t believe he has any in stock at the moment or is he’s going to continue to make it. I wish I had purchased 2 instead of 1 when they were available because I’m out and this stuff is great and smells amazing. I would just frequently check the site and while you’re there sign up for the news letter to be notified when he has it back in stock 👍
look into Coret's Amazing Tong Oil. it's about 40% tung oil,50% citris and some resin. Smells great and makes a great finish after multiple applications.@@940joey2

Great knife for the money. Nice work! Congratulations 🙏🏿🇺🇸🪓
Keep on keepin on ;)
Thank you so much !!! I can’t wait to come down and visit 🤙
When I wet formed mine, I laid scrap leather where it needed to be pinched tighter and left spring clamps on it until it dried.. it kept the same form.
That turned out sweet, excellent job and video.
Thank you so much !! I really appreciate the kind words !! Thanks for watching 👍
I wet formed my knife but instead of leaving the knife in the sheath I took it out and let the sheath dry. Worked out great held just fine.
Thank you so much for watching !! Oh that’s a good idea, I’ll have to give that a try next time I have to tighten up a sheath !! Thank you so much for watching and for the awesome tip and for the sub !!!
Awesome video brotha!! Thanks for showing that process. Huge help!! Your knife looks AMAZING!! Great job. Thanks for the video
Joey- Great video. You are always up to something interesting. Glad to see you posting again.
Thank you so much !! I might to another knife video in the future 👍
@@jordanstevens8132 Thanks. That makes sense.
The vac seal, and beeswax methods sound pretty cool too
Awesome thanks to the advice Kurt !! And thanks so much for watching, I’m glad you enjoyed the video 🤙
Have been pondering one of these for the price. I'm thinking disassembling and adding liners and maybe a bit of contour love to the handle.
@@spektr540hemi thank you so much for all your help !!
You could also stabilize the wooden handles with wax. Makes them waterproof and last forever.
Hey that’s a great idea, I’ll have to give they a try, thank you !! Thanks for watching !!
another good vid man - the sheath is pretty big to start with - so maybe rivet after mine dries - i did the same process as per the bluing - i wasnt smart enuff to sand the handle while on the knife but same as you i loved it even more when i put it back together - thanks
I wonder if you drilled some lightening holes under the scales and then filed a larger opening if that might improve its balance.
Try vacuums forming the leather with a simple kitchen vacuums sealer. I might work but then there is no way to get the moisture out to properly dry.
Thf 1st t hing uou should do when you get that knife is take the handles off and put Vaseline on both sides of the handle then put the scales back on.
Thank you so much for watching !! Oh wow I’ve never heard of that I’ll have to try that next time I get a new knife, thank you !!
I have the same knife. It’s nice. I did make a big change with the sheath though.
Good video though. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Heck yeah that’s awesome, I’m glad you like it !! I think they’re awesome !! Nice, I’d love to hear what you did !! Thank you so much for watching 🤙
Looks good
Thank you !!
I got one on Amazon my cost me 55.00 I'm getting in to survival I'm going to use my my knife for camping can't wait
These knifes i have heard good things. I lived in Ukraine. Ukraine makes cool hatchets to that are cheap and good!
Another thing for retention. A lanyard on the knife. A ranger band / inner tube around the sheath top. Tuck the lanyard in the ranger band
Thank you so much for watching !! Heck yeah that’s an awesome idea, thanks for the awesome tip !! I think I’m going to do this 👍
It might be a good idea to coat the part of the knife under the scales with polyurethane to seal it from water just a light coat, then when the scales are reapplied put a light coat of poly on the wood
Thank you so much for watching !! That’s a great idea actually, I’ll have to give that a shot on my next knife 👍
Do the same thing you done. And then vacuum seal it for an hour. Take it out of the vacuum bag and put it in the oven 250° for about an hour. Knife amd all. It’ll click like kyfex afterwards
Oh wow that’s awesome !!! Thank you so much for the tip I’ll have to give this a shot !!! Thanks for watching 👍
@@940joey2 you’re welcome. I I enjoy your videos.
Linseed oil is the best you know. If cricketers use it on their bats it must be good.
🧐🇬🇧
Mine has recently developed rust that appears in varying shades of gray throughout the knife. How do I get rid of this sir?
Hey sorry I’m just getting back to you !! If you’re just getting some surface rust or flash rust I generally use 0000 steel wool or a green scotch brite pad. You definitely want to keep the blade oiled or put a forced patina on it to help prevent rusting 🤙 I hope this helps !! Thanks for watching !!
I’m not sure but I think of the leather has been previously oiled it won’t take wet forming properly.
I think you need some clamps when forming leather. The mods look great.
Thank you so much !! Yeah definitely agree. I actually ended up adding another rivet next to the existing one and it worked out great 👍
All the advice, but no one says dampen the leather, not drown it lol
Thanks for watching !! Yeah looking back I probably didn’t need to let the leather soak in a bucket, I’m sure that wasn’t helping.
Hell yeah
How much do you charge to treat the knife as shown (not the sheath)?
Hey John thank you so much for watching !! So no one has ever asked me to do that before. Do you have a bps adventurer and just want it blued and oiled ? If so I’d be happy just to do it, if you just pay shipping. 👍

@@shawnpepin7890 you nailed it! I suppose it's time to spread some love around!
Thank you so much for the advice, I’ll definitely have to give both of these ideas a try in the future !! Thanks for watching 🤙
Where do we get this snake juice
Thank you again for watching and thank you so much for the sub !!! The snake juice is available at killingerofficial.com he doesn’t always have it in stock he makes it in small batches. Best bet is to sign up for his news letter to be notified 👍
Don’t put the knife in the sheath when drying. You want the leather to shrink smaller than the knife
Ahhhh gotcha makes sense !! Thank you so much for the tip, I really appreciate it !! Thanks for watching 👍
All you had to do was loosen the scales and straighten them out.
Where is the Snake Juice available?
So the snake juice is from Chris killinger at his website killinger official, I don’t believe he has any in stock at the moment or is he’s going to continue to make it.
