Crochet Cable Your Love Baby Blanket

  • Crochet Cable Baby Blanket has 2 cable panel sections to try. It's an advanced level crochet pattern and really satisfying to crochet up. If you enjoy the texture and a challenge, you may just love this blanket.
Due to the panels being narrow across, the memory work needed for the stitchwork is minimal at best. You can see the pattern work out in front of your eyes because when you turn the blanket around to the backside, you don't have to do any fancy stitches.

Thank you so, so much for posting this tutorial. I thought I could manage this blanket using only the written instructions. Wrong. It was so helpful to watch (and re re re watch) until I really got the hang of it. I'm gonna be a new grandma in January and can't wait to present this blankie to my first grandchild!

Morning Conny. I am in lock down with the community as well. We just came out of lockdown here in Nova Scotia. This community is keeping me grounded in the chaos.

I am going to try this on a smaller scale, like a head band and see if I can handle a blanket. Thank you for the graph and this youtube!

I have way too many WIPS at the moment, but I think this is worth putting them aside. Wish me luck.

There is a mistake in row 9 of the first panel. There should be trebles crossing at that row to.

If your speaking of row 9 on the center panel, Mikey's instructions are correct.

Accounting to the pattern instruction say to join the panel by single crocheting them together; however, your instruction say to whip stitch them together, therefore, which one is right?

Why can't the blanket be in one piece? I'm really not good at putting panes together and I guess not good at crochet to figure it out on my own!

First its not Mikey's design is a Red Heart from Nimal Kaur Khalsa. Mikey showed us how and made extra diagrams for us. To write this pattern in one go would be a nightmare, nobody could follow. But u can easy crochet it in one piece. Start with side panel 38 stitches/ center panel 34 stitches/ side panel 38 stitches plus one chain at the beginning for the sc high like in evry row. That is 111 chains. Now u have it!

Mikey don’t you think the first two cables should be mirrored rather than repeating first two...hope this makes sense 🧶🧶🧶🧶

I thought the same thing but I did read through and I think I got it as written.

I tried to follow but after 9 times I give up I don't see where exactly you are working and even the pattern is not clear...

For the border the pattern says repeat 4 to 7 twice. Is that right?

      Opening pattern now to check.

This is what it states: Rounds 4-7: Repeat Rounds 2-3 twice.
      Fasten off.
So you you are repeating Rnds 2 and 3, twice more. The rounds 4 - 7 is just giving you the round counts.

This method of diamond stitch is a real yarn eater. With singles between each row instead of doubles it takes too long to achieve the length you want. All that extra stitching makes for a stiffer blanket. I had to move on and use another method that finished a diamond pattern in 3 rows and much neater looking.

I'm glad you found another solution so it suits your needs. That's great.

I don’t think this is right. The pattern doesn’t go in and out they go up in diagonal lines!
