Dear Robin, you are amazing!!! 81 yes old, living in West Tennessee, USA and have taken on this project. Loving every minute. Thank you for your complete and very easy instructions. I appreciate no back ground music or needless chit chat.
So I watched your video all the way through now. Yours is definitely the best. Thank you for clear easy instructions with no background music or unnecessary going on about yarn and such. This is the clearest video on the Bavarian stitch I have ever watched. Thank you Robin 😊
I've been crocheting off and on for about 45 years and never even bothered to research the Bavarian stitch because it looked too complicated and time consuming. After watching several of your other tutorials and learning some stitches I hadn't tried, I figured I would check this one out. I never realized how simple the Bavarian stitch actually is! You broke it down beautifully, Robin. Your directions are clear and concise. You repeat yourself just enough to reinforce what you're teaching without being overly repetitive. You are a brilliant teacher, and I can understand why there are so many comments from beginning crocheters who are trying more advanced stitches. Thank you so much for helping me to get really excited about trying new stitches!
Robin - I have been crocheting for 19 yrs and have been watching tutorials since I have found UA-cam. With that being said I have watched plenty of tutorials on Bavarian stitch and YOURS has been the easiest to follow along to and understand! I’m no newbie and I’m not sure how you do it my dear but this is hands down the BEST Bavarian stitch tutorial on UA-cam! Love your channel! Lots of love my dear 💖
What a fantastic tutorial for a beautiful stitch. I love yr expression 'trust the process' so many times I've waited " I don't get it" then decided not to think just do it and am ecstatic when a beautiful stitch unfolds... At the risk of sounding very superficial, love yr manicure😊
Thank you Robin for your clear and easily understood instructions and excellent camera view to learn this stitch - and several others I watched. You are, by far, the best crochet teacher on UA-cam. I have subscribed
So beautiful 🤩 You are my favorite crotchet tutorial UA-camr to watch. You give clear instructions and you show how to do the stitches slowly. Keep up the good work
Hi Robin, i am from Bavaria and i've never heared of this stitch. Maybe that's simply because all people around me knit such traditional patterns. But now i can show them a beautiful diamond shaped crochet as well. Jippieh and thank you very much ❤🪢

Wow! Robin this is another fantastic tutorial. You explain everything so clearly. And your camera work is phenomenal....up close so every move can be seen, in focus at all times, and no noise in the background! Beautifully done always. I so appreciate all your work and superb videos. Thank you!
This beautiful stitch is dreamy but I've just considered it beyond my skill level. However, your instructions are clear and I might just have to give this a go! It's just lovely. Great video tutorial from one of my favorite creators!

Hi Robin, such a wonderful tutor, and very well explained. I am a left handed crocheter and found your video tutorial very easy to follow. Thank you so much for your clear explanation.
I think I finally got the two row repeat with out checking the video. That is when you truly got the pattern . Thanks this is beautiful I have 8 or 9 rows and it is gorgeous texture. Proud of myself with these 8 treble crochet togethers
I made a blanket with this stitch. The colors were white, cornflower blue, sea green and periwinkle. It turned out beautiful and received a lot of compliments. Thank you!
Robin, this pattern has truly inspired me…finishing up my 7th Bavarian stitch blanket (50x50) with stash yarn and plan to give most of them as gifts. First gift was given to a dear friends’ son for his wedding in the spring; he was thrilled to be able to pick his favourite from the stack. 🥰🥰 Thank you for your very detailed instructions!
Thank you soooo much for this tutorial. This was so great! I have been intimidated by this stitch for a little while now and after watching your tutorial I honestly feel like I could do this without a problem. You are great with tutorials!!!
I just found my way here and I'm so glad I did! I love your easy to follow instructions and your voice is so soothing. Thank you for the instructional videos!
Your patterns are so beautiful and your stitches are impeccably even! Even after 40+ yrs off and on (mostly off until retirement) crocheting, I sometimes struggle to keep stitch size/tension even. It would probably help to crochet more often. After watching you I can see how it would especially help to change the way I tension the yarn. I was taught to hold the project between my thumb and middle 2 fingers, and the index finger (with the working yarn draped over it) pulls farther away from the project with each stitch to draw up more working yarn, which causes stitches to cycle from shorter to taller and back again (making consistently uneven stitches). You keep your index finger very close to or touching the project, which keeps a consistent amount of yarn feeding into every stitch. I'll have to tweak the grip bcs of arthritis and changing a lifetime habit will take some doing, but the results will be well worth it! 😀 So glad to run across your videos and not only find a treasure trove of gorgeous projects to do (with clear instructions), but also sleuth out how to fix what I've been doing wrong all these years - YAY! 👍💐
Hi Robin, I'm totally brand new to crocheting & searching for inspiration i came across your video on this Bavarian stitch. I'm so glad I did as it is so beautiful & you have such an amazing talent of demonstrating, making what looks quite daunting to us beginners to a huge sigh of relief to how easy it is to create. I have spent the last few weeks practising with sc, dc & tc more so with tension & learning what hooks are best used with each types of wool. Now I think I'm ready to create something & what more inspiration could I need than your demo. Thank you so much Robin for sharing your time & expertise with us. Take care Beth x 😀 xx
Robin, this stitch is addictive! I’ve made 3 blankets so far with this stitch using lots of yarn from my stash; one in blues, one in browns and golds and one in purples. Both sides of the blankets are lovely to see. Thank you for sharing your skills and your expertly filmed videos.
Thanks for sharing, sometimes things look so difficult until they are watched and explained. My problem has always been in crocheting picking and putting colors together. Thanks for sharing your time and talent.❤️
Gorgeous blanket! Thank you for explaining everything so beautifully and in-depth. I’ve been thinking about trying this blanket for years. It seemed too difficult and daunting for me, until now!💖🌷
Robin you explain the stitch very well. I've been crocheting a long time but for some reason it was confusing to me. I guess as you said the more I do I'll finally get it. Thanks
Love this Bavarian Stitch 😍 My daughter in laws mother gave me 2 30 gallon tubs of yarn I had no idea what to do with...I'm going to give this ago 😍 Thank you for the Tutorial ❤
I had a printed pattern but just couldn't grasp the concept. I lucked into your tutorial and am now the proud giver of my first Bavarian baby afghan (new momma is over the moon and is dropping hints about a full-sized afghan for herself). I'll be writing a pattern using your technique for my next afghan.

Hi Robin, very beautiful stitch and very complicated for me to do right now. You do beautiful tutorials and I Thank You for them. God Bless you and your family!!
Your explanation of hook size is perfect! Of course, I started with the suggested hook size. When will I learn to watch-and listen- first? Thanks for this pattern. Now it will be much easier and will look fantastic. Your tutorials are great!😃
Very beautiful. I never tried the Bavarian Stitch but I shall give it a go next month and get the colours you wrote down in the description box. I am making a lot of baby blankets and this one will be lovely to do.
Love this blanket! I've only been crocheting about 2 months and have found the tutorial easy to follow. I'm on the 4th colour change after a few days 😁
Robin, this is absolutely gorgeous! When I have 374.3 hours of free time, I shall tackle this. Bless you for spending so much time using ugly yarn combinations just for our benefit! 🤣😂🤣😂
OMG Robin, This video was like you were inside my brain when I found it. I was going to your channel to look at the granny spike stitch tutorial, in order to use some of the massive haul of chunky monkey I recently purchased, and there this was!!! I have seen other people do this stitch, but you made it so much better to understand and follow along. Thank you so much for being you. Love watching you crochet... its just so satisfying and inspiring!
I only recently got back into crocheting after years of ignoring the skill, and honestly this video has inspired me to try and make a big blanket using this stitch. I'm excited to make it because i really love this pattern!
I have wanted to learn this pattern for many many years! I have been stitching for 62 years. My Grandma started me when I was 3 yrs old. Thank you so much for your wonderful teaching and videos. Is there a rectangle version? Now this is on my "do soon" list!
@@HookedbyRobin is it possible to do this in only a single color? I am not a fan of weaving ends. I think it would be equally as beautiful done in a single color. I absolutely love this stitch and your instructions are easy to follow.
I love this blanket, But I really love the colors that you changed it to. Happy crochet. By the way I did the crochet along little blue octopus. It was a great gift for my new grandson.
This is a beautiful pattern, very well taught. Thanks very much. I like having the view of a lovely finished piece at the beginning. I'd have picked more harmonious colors for the demonstration, though I understand the need for a clear color differentiation between sets of rows. I agree with what Jeanna Kelly wrote below - I also appreciate that there is no musical background.

I've been eyeing this pattern for quite some time now. It must be time to make it as it has been mentioned often lately. Thank you for clear, concise instructions! You make this very doable. I had to laugh when you pulled out the green yarn. I said oh, my favorite color just as you were saying it was ugly. LOL!

Thank you thank you between your tutorial and another one I was watching and taking some notes and starting over a handful of times and not over thinking the process. I finally got the hang of this beautiful pattern. I love center out patterns and I am well on my way. Thank you again for your tutorials.
I used this video to make a square for cocoon cardigan and it came out great. I used Studio Sam Pure Cotton yarn set, and used all 10 colors so it is VERY colorful and fun. Thank you for such clear, easy to follow instructions.
Robin, with the way you describe everything I was able to understand this patten better than the instructions from the book, the directions from the book was very confusing to me. I've been crocheting over 50 years and sometimes the instructions don't make sense to me. You made sense and I will follow you for other patterns I have problems with.
Robin! I love this blanket! I have tried this stitch before and have 1/4 of a blanket done! I did mine in aqua and white. Somehow I got messed up then, gave up on it. I was following a different tutorial. I absolutely love these colors in the order you have done this beautiful mini blanket, or seat cover?...lol. Your instructions are so easy that, I am going to give this another go! Wish me luck! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful work! Hugs 🤗 😘xxx
Thank-you for this tutorial of an incredibly beautiful pattern. I have a mountain of yarn, which will make many blankets, several in this gorgeous pattern. Wow. First time I'm getting a crochet pattern right one time from the beginning. Usually, I'll just give up because I don't understand the pattern or the tutor. Thank you
how much yarn will i need to make a queens size blanket with this pattern if i have yarn that requires a size 5 hook? do you think you can chace a guess on that? @@HookedbyRobin
Thank you Robin for yet another stunning pattern which I just can’t wait to start. Not long finished your lotus flower blanket which turned out beautiful xx
What a gorgeous stitch, Robyn. I love the multi colors also. I’ll try this one eventually but not right now lol lol. Thanks Robyn for another great video. ❤gayle
I picked up a Bavarian crochet kit, with the hook and all the yarn, at a second-hand store (what a find!!). I made it according to their directions to baby blanket size, then saw your tutorial and am trying it with the extra yarn. They didn't have "chain 1" between sets of 4 trebles, and used slip stitches instead of sc. I like the look of yours better (no surprise, you are a crochet genius!). I'm wondering if you have ever done anything to square off the edges. I like the rounded edges, but think I want to try filling in the valleys (maybe just sc, hdc, dc, tc or something). Anyway, thank you for all your tutorials, love them!
I'm wondering how to determine a size for this blanket. Since you start in the middle, how do you know finished dimensions? I'd like to make a crib blanket, but do these blankets end up square or rectangular? How do I determine how much yarn to buy to end up a certain size? Thank you so much for your tutorials! You are my absolute favorite UA-cam crochet artist and instructor!
Oh my! I have always wanted to do the Bavarian! You always have super great videos, I’m a intermediate crocheter and definitely ready to give this a try ❤️

That is lovely to read, thank you so much! I am glad my videos are helping you.😃
Your videos out all I watched are the best and most descriptive. Thank you for your patience.
🥰🤗
Hugs 🤗 😘xxx
Thank you so much I have had such a difficult time following other sites! Your awesome
Love this pattern, going to make a baby blanket for a girl. Love the blended colors too!

Thank-you for this tutorial of an incredibly beautiful pattern. I have a mountain of yarn, which will make many blankets, several in this gorgeous pattern. Your blanket, in the pastel colours is very pretty. I love a combination of pink, yellow and peach. I have subscribed to your channel. Thanks again for this pattern. Audrey, from Ontario. ❤️🇨🇦🧶🐈 (and my cat, Raymond)

Lovely, simply lovely! I love a challenge, so this is right up my alley! A great way to use up my miscellaneous colors of yarn as well. I will write out the pattern first.

Wow. First time I'm getting a crochet pattern right one time from the beginning. Usually, I'll just give up because I don't understand the pattern or the tutor. Thank you

I wish this yarn was verigated! Great tutorial 😊🥰
Love this tutorial, something about it made the magic ring finally click for me.
That’s fantastic Jade, I’m glad you like the tutorial too.😃🧶
I picked up a Bavarian crochet kit, with the hook and all the yarn, at a second-hand store (what a find!!).
Oh my gosh, this is so beautiful. Just stunning. Thank you so much
Amazing how a cluster becomes a square!!
It is magic Nora!😃
Hello Robin! I love the idea of a blanket made of little Bavarian stitch granny squares . Do you have any suggestions as to how to join them with extra stitches so there are no gaps ? Many many thanks indeed and thank you so much for all your amazing tutorials xxx
Hi Sophie, thank you! 🥰 This will help:
