Hello, good video. Is there a way to set up the tent with a 125 cm pole? Greetings from Chile.

Hello! We have experimented with trekking poles at 125 cm and it does work. It may not be as taught as 135 cm trekking poles (Asta Gear's recommendation). Also, make sure the tent stakes are as deep in the ground as you can get them, and that the tent is as low as you can tension it with the guy lines. If it is still not taught, you'll also need to stake the tent out with a few more stakes and tension those guy lines too.

Superb tent, I love mine. What's your thoughts about which way up to put the poles, I'm concerned about putting the bottom end of my trekking pole pointing upwards into the eyelet on the inside as I feel it's going to cut through the flysheet fabric at some point. I've made a video if you want to watch it with the poles the other way up, with the handle at the top, I'm not convinced that's great either 😂

Thanks for the comment. This was our first time pitching the tent and we used the trekking pole handles with the eyelet. I've never thought about using the bottom of the trekking pole with the eyelet but my general feeling is that you'll puncture the tent fabric and also the tent would lose stability. From a physics point of view, I believe you want the weight of the tent on the trekking pole handles, which in turn drives the bottom of the trekking pole into the ground.

@@WrightsOutside I agree but I'm pretty sure when watching everyone else's videos they put the base of the pole in the eyelet, sounds wrong to me and when I did it it looked like a lot of pressure on a tiny area, again like you say the larger head of the pole spreads the pressure. Anyway, I look forward to more vids, I prefer your outside stuff than indoors, just some hopefully positive feedback. Cheers from the UK

@@camping_guru_uk Thanks for the feedback. We appreciate it!
I did stumble upon an official Asta Gear Yun Chuan 2 video where they pitch the tent. Asta Gear pitches the tent with the handles up. It is located at ua-cam.com/video/22Zqqqo6mqk/v-deo.html
