  • Hello everyone and welcome back to my channel. In this tutorial, I'm going to show you how you can use hdri lighting in your scene, with both lumen or path tracing. It's a very easy process, so I hope you'll enjoy.
    See you next time.

THANK YOU! This was driving me nuts. I had no idea how to make it look like it was flat at ground level and not be in a tiny bowl.

Also, remember that HDRIBackdrop has its own SkyLight as a component. So remove the main SkyLight if you have one.

Hi! thank you for your video! Do you know how to combine the hdri with the directional light in order to see the sun disk ?

Hi. I am afraid not, because Unreal creates a dome mesh where it projects the hdri, so the sun cannot be visible through that. But you can always add it in post.

He simply ignores those ginormous fireflies when using the path tracer with hdri background.. okay.

If you use denoiser they will disappear.

@@drawwithnightbuzzer good luck doing an animation with that. Have you ever tried? Starts flickering all over the place.

@@bestOskarEverxD I have not, but I can imagine. Of course the path tracer requires much more improvements to be able to render faster.
