Hi I have been crocheting for over 50 years and whenever someone compliments me and says I am clever I tell them "no I just follow instructions ,the really clever people are the ones who make up the instructions" . So Thank you very much for another interesting project. .
I LOVE HIM. HE'S THE BEST CROCHET TEACHER EVER. HE IS VERY THOROUGH HE DOESN'T RUSH THROUGH THE TUTORIALS. I EXTREMELY LOVE HIM. ❤❤❤ HIS WORK IS VERY BEAUTIFUL 😊
Finally! Someone who understands that beginners need close ups of the stitches and the”what not to do’s” as well as the “how to’s”. My hat turned out perfectly! 😊
Mine too on the first try❤ I'm watching again to make another one in a different color... One if my favorite tutorials, simple, concise, accurate, with perfect close ups and tips❤🎉❤
You’re an incredible teacher! Not only do you explain each step with grace, but you give inspiration along the way! “Breath! Oxygen is your friend!” Mad love! ❤
You are my favorite person for doing crocheting. I just had to let you know that I follow your hats and I make them and donate them to the Cancer society for people losing their hair. Thank you so much for sharing with us
The first person to EVER show the stitches in such detail? I’m making and following his excellent tutorial on the Waffle Hat! Looking forward to making more items of his.
I just found your channel last night. I love how you calmly show each step. Your voice is so relaxing and kind! I made this waffle stitch hat in no time. Thank you!
Your voice is distinctive and at the same time listening to it is easy, comforting. You had my trust the whole way along, and I was able to follow you and produce a hat the first time. Thank you.
With all due respect. . .Don't tell me you don't trust a simple random video except for this one, like just watch a video and if it works great if it doesn't fine. but please reading your comment makes me cringe.
You are an awesome teacher. I've been crocheting for a couple years now and by far you describe and teach techniques perfectly!!! This is the best beanie I've made to date. I give all the kiddos and thanks to you my dear!!!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, you are the best teacher and fanangler ever. I do things I would never try because of you. Thank you for all you do. Love from Cathy in Brisbane Australia
I want you to know I watch this video 2-3 times a year because it’s my favorite! I just can’t make it all stick in my brain 😂 thanks so much with Christmas around the corner I may have to view it daily ❤
Well, in the beginning, I nearly threw my crochet hook out the window...but I persevered. I finished the Waffle Stitch Hat, and I'm as proud as punch! Front & Back Post Trebles are much easier, that is, from all the practice whilst crocheting the hat. Thank you for the kindness and support you emanate through your videos.
Lol felt the same way, only on a king size blanket for a neice. So this wasn't so bad. I do have to say , this is one of the easiest patterns to follow. She makes everything so clear.
Hello. This is my first time to make a comment on tutorials. Your voice is so calming and relaxing. Very clear instructions. Thank you so much. I'll start this project soon. Stay safe.
Hello fiberspider, have just finished the waffle hat. It’s amazing and I so much want to thank you for your instructions. I have learned how to crochet during this horrible pandemic and your tutorial and videos have helped me more than you will ever know. Thank you and please never stop posting you are amazing xx
Thank you so much for this! I’m making hats to donate to a shelter and the ones I was making didn’t seem warm enough but I needed something that I could make fast. This is perfect it’s thick and fast to make.
I have tried to learn this pattern from others and failed, until I watched yours. Thank you for explaining things clearly and easy to understand. Also your voice is so calming and I did find myself smiling and giggling sometimes to the way you say some things. Has to be the best vid tutorial I have ever watched. Massive thank you.
You never disappoint me and my Family thinks I am a knitting and crocheting Genius. TYSM Fiber for the great tutorials as I am left handed but you still make it possible for this old Granny to learn new tricks.
Thank you, your videos, are one of the best to follow. I'm 71 and sometimes forget which stitch I am doing. Your instructions are great. Thank you again, Karen.
I am just finding your page, I can not read patterns so I watch videos or I come up with my own unique style. I been crocheting for years but always hated doing hats I always messed up on them. I am soooo glad I found your page! You make it very clear and you have beautiful work 😍 I am now a life time fan of yours ❤️
This is my first tutorial from you. I love your teaching style and your enthusiasm for the art of crochet. I am very pleased I found your channel. Thank you!
Thank you for teaching the stitches in a slow manner and speaking so we older people can understand what you are saying. I myself appreciate the way you teach. I have saved a few of your tutorials. The hats are. Beautiful. 👍😊❤
Whenever I am looking for a pattern I somehow always come across one of yours as something that catches my eye. Whenever I hear your voice I instantly smile and I know I will be able to pull of the pattern. You are easy to follow and easy to listen to. We crochet at nearly the same speed so I can virtually finish when you do. I love it.
I cannot thank you ENOUGH for your time and explanation (and humor) of this lovely stitch. Im 57 years old and have been crocheting since grade school. I'm an introvert so never asked anyone to show me how and other videos had me frustrated. Love this stitch and so happy to be able to learn it, stop the video, continue, back up, etc. THANK YOU!!
Thank you for this great tutorial. I’m making hats for the homeless and I like this pattern much better than the one I was using. It makes such thick cushy fabric.
Spider, you are a great teacher, your voice and tone are so soothing, but your gentle and fun personality make me wish we were next door neighbors!! Hamburgler!!!!
What a fantastic looking hat! It is so unusual and extremely attractive. You are a creative genius! Thank you for sharing your gift with us. You instructions are very clear and easily understandable. Thank you for being our "personal instructor" with such a soothing voice.

I absolutely LOVE this hat, the texture is so amazing!, and the stretch is awesome!....and you explain it perfectly! I made one for myself and I showed it to my sister- in-law and she wanted to buy it from me, she gave me $15 for it! Yaaay for me! So, now I’m starting another one and I’m not giving this one away!Thank you so much for sharing this tutorial, you are the best!
Thank You for making this tutorial so easy to understand. I did 5 rows of every other front post/back post ribs and then ended with a row of single crochet and it turned out great for the little boy I made it for. Super fast hat to whip up. It's fun that there are so many ways to finish off a beanie, that's the great thing about art, no right or wrong way! Glad I came across your channel.
I want to thank you for all your videos! I have done many of the blankets and shawls to sell. I'm a cancer patient and I am currently hospitalized. I have trouble sleeping so I'm working on this wonderful waffle hat. It's so amazing how we can create so many wonderful things with just a simple yarn and a hook. I love crocheting and you have been a blessing in my life! Thank you for teaching me so many wonderful tutorials. I love the way you explain every single stitch. 😘
@@joycejeng264 I had the same at first, then I played the video again and again. Found out that there are so many stitches. 1st round- 12 2nd round- 24 3rd round- 36 4th round- 48 5th round- 60 6th round- 72 Got it wrong by increasing. Good luck
I've just made up my 4th one of these! I love love love this easy pattern. I love the design. I love the squishiness of it. I love how it makes the yarn "seem" thicker. I love following your tutorials. You are the best!!
Love this- I will be making it for the homeless as well. Thanks for the tutorial! If you start with even number of DCs, you will be able to do the front/back post ribbing without any issues of two front post DCs together.
This is my first time to crochet the Waffle Stitch. My son said he "likes this one" and so here I go. LOL Can't wait to see my finished product, I am sure I will LOVE IT! Thanks so much for your wonderful teaching video, it is so great to hear the instructions and follow along video for the first time when doing something new. Hope everyone has a Blissful Weekend ahead!
You are a phenomenal teacher and instructor!!! Thank you!!! I needed a special hat for my son's boss to thank him for kindly gifting our family some goodies for our party. It was so thoughtful of him and I wanted to make something special for him. As I am stitching along, my husband is sitting beside me saying how cool this looks, how nice it is, etc. Guess precious hubby will get one too! Thank you!!
I made my 1st waffle stitch hat lastnight in a toffee color and i enjoyed making something totally different from my other crochet hats. Thanks for clear videos and teachings on how to crochet row by row and stitch by stitch. Great job of explaining. These hats are beautiful! I love the colors too!
Hiya Craig! Thank you for wonderful tutorials. I have made so many of this hat to add to my chemo hat donation bundle. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for teaching me all these useful techniques to create these gifts to cheer up those who are fighting illness. Happy holidays!
You're video is amazing!!! You weren't too fast or too slow and you explained everything perfectly. And, I could clearly see what you were doing in the video. Absolutely loved this hat. Thank you for doing such an awesome job!!
I have been a male knitter for 60yrs and knitted 3o+ pattern types including the knit version of this waffle stitch, I have also crocheted a bit and i really enjoyed watching your crotchet video. I might have a go but I am a bit rusty. Thankyou.
It is currently December 23rd, I needed a last minute stocking stuffer gift for a few family members and I am rather quick with a crochet hook but didn't know too many patterns I could make for beanies. This video was a DELIGHT to follow along with. I finished up at least 1 beanie in an afternoon and plan to make a couple others before Xmas!!! Fiber Spider always being my favorite go-to for quick and creative crochet ideas!!!
Thank you for this tutorial! I wouldn’t normally have tackled this as it looked complicated but I am so happy I did! I did a camo yarn and it looks so awesome.
I just finished this hat and, of all the things I’ve made from your videos, this is my favorite! It was so exciting watching the pattern develop, round by round. I took notes while watching the video and the instructions were perfect. Thanks so much for all your hard work putting these videos out for us. This is going to be a chemotherapy cap for a friend and I know she’ll love it.
I was so excited to see this Beanie pattern. I crocheted an afghan with this stitch that turned out beautiful. You are a great teacher. So easy to follow. Thank you so much!
YaY! I finished my hat last night and its so beautiful. I wish I could show you. Thank you for taking your time and going slowly so I could learn this difficult stitches.
Thank you for explaining instructions row by row. Row 6, I am so glad you told me to breathe and take a deep breath. I almost gave up there. Thanks for talking me off the ledge. Going behind the post is bad enough but twice. I did it and finished. It's a beautiful hat
Thank you for teaching these fancy hats ,you are amazing and so talented ,I love your way of teaching and the skills that you have ,enjoy so much and I make almost all the hats you put on your UA-cam
Thank you for teaching us how to crochet, your videos are so simple and anyone can follow your simple understanding on how to achieve any project. Again thank you I have learned so much from you.
The best basket weave video/pattern, I have ever done. You do a great job explaining how to do the patterns and, to follow along with you. I look forward to trying some of your other patterns
Very easy to follow. Love the instructions. Fist hat took two hours. 2nd hat completed in one hour. I knitted the edging by picking up knit stitches on a round needle. Thank you
I just finished the hat. Love it! Like how you put the round marker -easy to pick a spot in the video. Only thing I wish was you would put the count numbers at the end of the rounds -especially when they are increasing. Thank you for the pattern!
Thank you so much for this! I've just started crocheting at 67 (it's never too late) and fell in love with a waffle stitch blanket pattern. I was thrilled to find this in a hat form as well. I've just finished a lovely hat thanks to your clear, easy to follow instruction. Thanks again!
It's really beautiful pattern and the way you instruct things is simple, for a first time I did it in parts as my time allowed in a day it's not as neat but with practice I'll sure get it right, thanks a lot
He mentioned in the video that it’s multiples of 3. So you’d chain how long you want it (don’t forget multiples of 3) and add 2 at the end. Then you’d start in the 2nd chain from the hook and DC (or HDC) the first row. Row 2 would be chain 2, FPDC, DC, DC, etc. ROW 3 would be chain 2, FPDC, BPDC, BPDC, etc. Then you would just repeat those rows until you have the width you want.
For everyone that’s ruffling!!: go back to round three. I misunderstood and front post dcs into both the front posts AND the dcs as well as increasing by two dcs in between each. Does that make any sense? Anyways, that created a ruffle effect because of such a large increase of stitches at once. I suggest going back to rewatch that round again if you’re having this issue
Thanks much. During these Covid times, you are my hero. I am still breathing and crocheting with you. . It's so nice to hear your voice during shut down times. You are awesome and better than watching the news or the same old stuff on TV. God bless you.
So easy, so gorgeous and warm, and a well done tutorial. I personally appreciated the reminded to breathe in the difficult increase and the encouragement throughout. My son just loves the hat.

Love 💘 Love this. Do you have tutorial for square tissue box
You are so considerate when it comes to your teaching, I'm so impressed. I Love when you say welcome to eat street! You're the best Crochet teacher!
Love it, if I want to just keep going and make a flat piece how would I do this? Thanks
Thank you for explaining. I keep keeping a stunning flat disc🤣
Thank you for another wonderful tutorial. This hat makes up quickly & I have made several this week to give to the local homeless shelter .
I didn't have much ruffling at this point, but round 4 was VERY ruffled. What am I doing wrong there?
@@judymyers5542 redo round 3 and listen/watch very carefully to what he’s doing. you’ll get it after a couple shots!
Thanks much. During these Covid times, you are my hero. I am still breathing and crocheting with you. . It's so nice to hear your voice during shut down times. You are awesome and better than watching the news or the same old stuff on TV. God bless you.
I just love this stitch, l have made a lot of things with it.
I learned how to crochet everything he teaches. He is so detailed ,so thorough, and so patient!
Could you do a tutorial on the Divine hat also. No one has a good tutorial on the Divine hat and I think you would do an amazing tutorial
I would love this too!
@@kinkajou74 Me too!
Me three
So easy, so gorgeous and warm, and a well done tutorial. I personally appreciated the reminded to breathe in the difficult increase and the encouragement throughout. My son just loves the hat.
