I'd say Imurah was the stronger Sorceror, given he summoned Tzeentchian Daemons, rather than Khornate ones. Imurah had a wider range of sorcerous attacks and was able to control a greater Daemon of Tzeentch. He was also a lot faster and used stuff like illusions and controlling parts of the warp to isolate Calgar from Titus and his squad. Nemeroth seems like more of a self-made Chaos champion though, as he's had to gather his own Chaos Warband named after himself, plus he wears Terminator Armour so in battle he's probably the more physically challenging threat than Imurah. Both strong and memorable chaos champions, but Imurah seems like he was the bigger threat. Though Nemeroth got further along in his own plan as he was tturning into a Daemon prince before Titus interrupted his transformation.
Dunno but Nemeroth seems more charismatic. Imurah reminds me of smug/crying soyjack while Nemeroth is a menacing chad. Also his cutscene where he kills Sidonius is iconic. "At last" is a quote often used by my brothers and i when something anticipated occurs.

I had always assumed he was just grossly out of proportion due to his chaos gifts fusing him with his armour. I really prefer this look for chaos lords rather than the very brand-specific stuff we get nowadays.
Nemeroth is Chaos Undivided, as he uses minions from all of the Chaos Gods over the course of the campaign, although his plan didn't succeed. If he was allowed to fully ascend without being killed by Titus he definitely would have been stronger than Imurah. As it stands though, Imurah is a lot more powerful even if he only follows Tzeentch.
Grimskull: *casually takes out some chaos demons, manages to get back up, mocks the chaos demons about how he isnt easy to kill, drags their leader down with him, refuses to elaborate*
Grimskull is my favorite ork warboss depiction. So freaking awesome and surprisingly had depth with his quiter moments like "I aint so easy to kill." Just gives you a sense of history to his character that I would have loved to see.
They tried to treat the orks with a relatively serious tone in this game, compared to their more wacky, cartoonish portrayal in Dawn of War. The orks aren't exactly "serious", they still have funny quirks, but they're clearly not a joke overall. This was a good decision by the writers, because if the portrayal of the orks leaned more into silliness, it would detract from the dignity of the Ultramarines fighting them.

for people who dont understand why some orks run away from daemon, its because they are bloodaxe, the bloodaxe are the clan based on tactic, the portal came from nowhere and they werent really ready for that fight so they wanted tactical withdrawal and then run back to the fight with massive group or with better dakka/knives. exept big boss, which want pick all the good fight an enemy ccan provide to him. The ork clan who always charge without caring at anything are Goff or snakebite
We don't know that they are blood axe orks, it can be assumed that they are due to their action of running away, but I think this is more of a old lore type deal were orks ran away alot more
Eh, Orks also run away sometimes if a battle is far out of their favor. They love a good fight but want to actually fight something, not be slaughtered.

Nah, see, those orks wasn't retreating. The was just repositioning themselves to start the scrap again. Winning a scrap is the orkiest thing you can do, so sometimes orks gotta use their heads to come up with brainy ways to win. Except that one git who got stabbed through the head. He looked pretty scrawny. He was probably a gobbo in disguise. You know how tricksy they can be. Either he was a dressed up gobbo or a scrawny ork. Either way he was a git and got proper crumped. What was we talkin about?
Orks do retreat. Their creed is "brutal cunning" and "cunning brutality". Sometimes you have to live to fight another day. There is no fun in a hopeless battle. Obviously, that does vary a bit. Some warbands are more tactical than others, some rely more on witchcraft, some rely more on mechs and so on.
My favorite part is how, after the cutscene, you're just standing right where you were when the cutscene started and just walk away normal. It makes good enough sense in the story; you walked up, some stuff happened, you were lucky enough to be able to walk away and continue your mission, but from a game design perspective, you can clearly see where gameplay begins and ends and how they made it work in between. It's like when a magic trick becomes interesting once you start to recognize how the magician is doing it.

It’s really simple continuity but the bits of effort put in making even just character placement feel natural and narratively progressive is what is being appreciated here.
Obviously it sounds kind of silly to act like the game has done anything special by doing this, but nowadays I notice games tend to end a cutscene and then spit you out like 8 feet to the right or just completely in a new location just a few hundred feet up the way l, which isn’t a bad thing but comparatively that little disconnect of spawning in elsewhere can still impact the experience (albeit not enough for it to matter in my experience)
Orks that live long enough and fight 'ard enough will eventually develop some cognitive skills beyond merely fighting and scavenging, this is doubly true for any Ork that manages to become a boss, especially Warbosses, the head of any sizeable mob of Orks.

Here’s the thing, Orks only care about having a good fighting and Titus is the best opponent to fight. I remember hearing that in Ork language, the word for best friend and enemy are the same and that just about sums up their state of mind. Fighting is fun for them, and this was a fun fight till the Daemons ruined it and tried to steal all the fun!
There's the Metal Slug homage "Shootas, Blood & Teef", the arcade shoot em up "Dakka Squadron" and the upcoming racing/vehicle combat game "Speed freeks" There's also ork campaigns in quite a few 40k strategy games, though of the top of my head I can't remember which ones. I think Dawn of War 2 and Dawn of War 3 had them, as well as Battlefleet Gothic 2
Orkz are always up to mosh some spiky gitz, to the point they even let some hummies join in if they are properly orky enough. Nemeroth today, Angron tomorrow! We remember Ol'Baleeye after all...
It's because the "inquisitor" was in awe how Titus survived retrieving the crystal, as he said Titus should have died, so leandros thought that Titus was somehow an agent of chaos
The 3rd Ed Eldar codex had a great passage where an Eldar philosopher remarks that for all their so called superiority, the Eldar ultimately failed to make a perfect society. Even with all the advantages of technology, culture, pseudo-immortality, they couldn't achieve what the Orks managed effortlessly: a society entirely at peace with its place in the universe. Orks have the closest thing to a perfect society in 40k. Every Ork is delighted to be a part it, not out of fear but genuine happiness.
In any other game, Grimskull would have been killed by Nemeroth in this scene, to emphasise his menace. But Grimskull is an Ork, and I was not disappointed to see him drag Nemeroth down with him.

I think the best part of this scene is that it both accepts and averts the Worf Effect. Look at this big scary guy you've been building up the whole game! Look at a pile of mooks kill him to establish how scary the new enemy is! And then the old enemy rocks back up a bit later, PISSED AS HELL, and slugs them right in the jaw, having murdered the mooks, and the new enemy boss is forced back and to run away. It both says "The new guy is scary" and "Don't underestimate this new guy." And as a 40k fan? "Don't underestimate the Orks" is rule #1 of any time fighting Orks.
I haven't played this game, but now I absolutely have to in the future; that orc is the kind of guy that deserves a proper fight, not out of hatred, but out of respect.

The one complaint I have about these Orks is that they don't sound *BIG AN TUFF ENUFF!* The Orks from Dawn of War, the real ones, not that abomination of a third game, sound perfect, especially Gorgutz.
It's funny to me how there are multiple moments like this where the Imperium is over a barrel with their (metaphorical) cheeks about to get clapped by Chaos, only for Orcs to show and save them. But only because Chaos seems fun to scrap w'th.
I mean hes' a warboss in mega armor. A boss kitted out like that can solo any other army leader with half-decent rolling, if he gets the charge. Nemeroth really ought to have treated that more seriously.
Nemeroth being a psycher means that he's really weak in melee fights, so he probably took it seriously when they fell in the hole, and ran away (like a bitch lmao)

The one complaint I have about these Orks is that they don't sound *BIG AN TUFF ENUFF!* The Orks from Dawn of War, the real ones, not that abomination of a third game, sound perfect, especially Gorgutz.

It's funny to me how there are multiple moments like this where the Imperium is over a barrel with their (metaphorical) cheeks about to get clapped by Chaos, only for Orcs to show and save them. But only because Chaos seems fun to scrap w'th.

I mean hes' a warboss in mega armor. A boss kitted out like that can solo any other army leader with half-decent rolling, if he gets the charge. Nemeroth really ought to have treated that more seriously.
Nemeroth being a psycher means that he's really weak in melee fights, so he probably took it seriously when they fell in the hole, and ran away (like a bitch lmao)
